This is a very peaceful and beautiful place to be. Ive gone fishing here a few times, and Ive seen some nice sized fish in the water, but havent caught anything yet. Ive heard from other fisherman that flies are the way to go.One word of caution, it can get pretty windy. Ive lost a hat in the lake on my last trip here from the wind picking it off my head and throwing it into the water.Other than that, I highly recommend it!
Great little reservoir for a day trip in Cache Valley. Picnic tables and volleyball pits provide fun our of the water. Just remember the water is right out of the mountains.
Fun place just on the edge of town to enjoy the water. Lots of big trees for shade and a pavilion with tables. Fun fishing spots. The water is a little funky for swimming but great for kayaking, SUP, etc. The water is not too deep, its usually pretty cold but refreshing in the summer.
Beautiful scenery and a wonderful place to enjoy some water fun during the warm summer days. A great place to have a relaxing picnic or fun family/friends gathering:)
Great park. Easy to launch canoes into water. It is cold. Jumping off the bridge into the water is fun. Please do not feed the ducks. Remeber that hamocks in the trees is illegal in the city of Logan.
This is a fun place to picnic or go on walks. If you are into fishing this is a quick access location if you are living in Logan. There are small walks/hikes to be found here with some pretty nice views. There are a lot of water fowl so if that is not your jam avoid this place for sure. Also they ask that you do not feed the water fowl here, it throws off their migration patterns because too many people feed them and so they stick around longer then they should. There is plenty of parking but the parking lot is rarely empty although the park is not. Quite a few people meet here to car pool up through Logan Canyon.
This place is so good and has a small deck to view the lake. Also this has a small park to enjoy. The mountains view is amazing. It got ducks and fun for kids.
Nice place for a short time relaxing. I found it not a good place for fishing!
Súper beautiful, but no dogs allowed unfortunately
Its a nice area to take the family. Theres a nice little beach and several picnic tables. Very family-friendly.
Beautiful and clean, families and picnics, kayaks and canoes, and a cool breeze this evening. Perfect!
My family went there on our way to the canyon, it is a very nice place to relax and see the nice river nearby. It also has some tables around that you could get food and eat at, or just to sit down and see the nice scenery.
I took my husband fishing here. It was so peaceful and relaxing!
Nothing is more Logan than First Dam. Classic childhood, adult, and grandparent experience. Truly a multigenerational experience.
Its peaceful, even with people there. Love the ducks and geese wandering around!
Its a smaller lake, but very picturesque.
This park is interesting in that is seems to be more of a water feature than a park. There is not a lot of peace and quiet to be had here due to the busy street that is never too far away. The setting does have its picturesque moments though. I have never seen it too crowded. There is usually a parking spot to be had. Egress isnt too tasking.
Beautiful place to fish with out much of a disturbance.
Beautiful and wow! Its been a long time since I was there!
First dam! Everybody loves first dam. Can get a little crowded in the summer but still beautiful. We like kayaking here
Very pretty spot all year round. Fun to take the kids to see the ducks. Good spot for pictures. The grass gets pretty slimy from duck poop near the water. It has a pavilion area with picnic tables, some park benches. It has docks that go out over the water for a better view. They have signs not to feed the ducks.
Apparently the city has given the park the new, ridiculous name of Canyon Entrance Park...
Great little place to relax by the dam, feed the ducks, go for a hike, or kayak around the dam. Parking is free but limited so carpooling is a good idea. Its has at least 3 different trails going in 3 different directions up to 4 miles round trip or farther. A sidewalk leading up to Utah State University main campus was recently added. I believe there are public restrooms here but Im not sure.
Very peaceful fun place to relax, fish
Fun park and it had ducks as well a geese roaming freely. Youre not encouraged to feed the ducks, but its great watching them run around. Not a large place, but its at the mouth of Logan Canyon, which is always a good time. They also have a bridge that is fun to jump off of, but prepare yourself the water is pretty chilly.
Good spot to fish below the damn access from below via the river.
Just beautiful.!
It was pretty and looks like a nice fishing spot. Dont feed the ducks signs are everywhere. Cool place at the mouth of the canyon
Super popular spot in the summer. A lot of people BBQ, fish, kayak, hike. Great activities for a local park. Has bathrooms available during the Summer.
Needs more fish and bigger. There are mostly small ones. Not big enough to keep.
A nice Place to go and fish & feed ducks.
Fun place to visit and feed the birds.
Nice place ...getting to crowded
Love first dam, inbred ducks and all! But seriously, its a great place to take the family for paddle boarding, fishing, picnicking, swimming, you name it.
Ducks, green trees, river, thisnplace has it all!
Beautiful view, very quiet
Great fishing here and its always a good time jumping into the water off of the bridge. Its hard to rate nature anything less than 5 stars!
Went canoeing... It was beautiful. There were a lot of geese and ducks.
Nice place to spend time, Great trails system to get around Logan and the Canyon.
Its a beautiful place to walk around and enjoy the scenery.
So many ducks here very fun place to visit
Good vibe.
Oh it was so cute. Nice scenery to relax.
Nice little park by the river before you go into the canyon. It has quite a bit of space, but is ussually very busy with students and others depending on the time of day. Lots of geese and ducks running around during the summer, so watch where you step! Fishing is allowed, bait is easier as there are a lot of bushes and trees around it that makes fly fishing challenging unless you wade out into it.
Great spot to walk around and a good fishing spot as well
Small but clean. You can not feed the ducks and no dogs on the grass. It is right next to the High Line Trail and is a good place to park. It is a good place for family gatherings or just to eat lunch.
Beautiful! Pleasant place to have a talk with a friend, a relaxing lunch, or just enjoy the water, ducks, etc.
Easy get away spot.
Great park. There are a couple picnic tables and a bowery that can be reserved. This park is also a popular place to kayak and paddle board. The entrance to the shoreline trail is also right across the street. The only real issue is parking. There isnt enough.
This was a pretty place to stop for a few minutes. There were people fishing. if you have polarized sunglasses you could see the fish in the water. Theres nice Trail to walk along and enjoy the river.
Nice place
We go here all the time. The water is a little chilly but so nice to swim in on a hot summer day.
Great connection for trails. You can find running and mtb trails close by.
Its always full of people it seems. And they dont allow dogs?? But there are public restrooms.
First Dam is a great place to take the family.
Love to just kick back and relax. Go fishing. Go hiking. This is the perfect place
Nice well kept park. Ducks, geese, fish, occasionally eagles and deer.BBQ grill facilities and tables.A bowery by the water. Fishing either from piers or the bank.Great place to kayak, canoe etc. No motors allowed on the water.
My very favorite park in Cache Valley. No toys for the kids, but lots of ducks to watch and feed. And plenty of lawn for frisbee, soccer or football.
It’s a good spot to meet up especially if your going up logan canyon. It’s a good park and ride area.
It is beautiful here but the only thing is that it gets super packed, no parking, and the ducks look like they are starving and try to come and get our food. (there is now a sign that says not to feed the ducks)
Fun place to relax and have fun!
If your visiting cache valley. Make sure to stop here
Fun park to feed ducks and geese.
Good place for pinic and kayak ing
Nice place with benches and stuff
Love this park. It is a little busy at times but well worth it
Great place to hang out.
Beautiful and great for family fun in the sun! I love looking out over the water!
Pros: Close to Logan, nice picnic areas. Fun in summer and winter. Grass is well taken care of.Cons: Typically windy (notice all trees lean away from the canyon mouth), typically overcrowded. Too many geese and ducks that are aggressive during mating/duckling season and poop everywhere - though probably why the grass looks so good. You do NOT want to go barefoot in this park. Not my first choice in Logan parks. Not large enough to toss a Frisbee, kick a ball or play volleyball (it will likely end up in the water).
I like it!
The park is pretty decent. Its in a beautiful area at the mouth of the Logan Canyon, so theres a lot to look at. A ton of ducks and some geese as well. Noticed the sprinklers were going haywire and there was not paper in the bathrooms, though. The bathrooms in general seemed pretty derelict.
Dogs should be allowed on a leash!
Always a favorite place to go to in the valley. There are so many ducks and geese there almost all year round!
My son loves the ducks
As advertised, there was a dam. I could not verify whether it was the first dam
Kinda windy here most of the time! But its a great place to relax and play. Ive seen plenty of people out on the water in canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, etc. Theres a spot on the south side thats very popular for cliff jumping into the water. Fishing is ok, I guess the best part is that its very close and you can still have cell service. Sadly there used to be a sand volleyball pit which was removed years ago. Oh, and read the signs (theres enough of them maybe), they dont like you doing a lot of things there (like feeding the ducks, chilling in hammocks, letting your dog play around).
Beautiful Energy
Fishing in the rain and still caught one
No dogs allowed :(
Great relaxing place at the mouth of the canyon. Perfect for a walk, hike, or a picnic near the water.
Great spot along the water for a nice picnic in the sun. Easy access from both the road and campus. Near the Bonneville Shoreline Trail which offers a great path for hiking, running, biking - featuring an excellent view overlooking Logan and the surrounding topography.
Seeing the wildlife was so fun for the kids!
Beautiful view of pond and green space.
Nice place in the summer! It is really fun and beautiful!
Great place for a walk, or short canoe ride with the family.
Crowded on weekends ( except Sunday)
Nice area for a relaxing walk or serious Pokemon hunting!
Nice place to watch the local wildlife and place to go fishing.
Fun and its an easy place to catch fish and is a very pretty place
A great place for feeding ducks and paddle boarding!
Nice place, peaceful
