Erie Canalway Trail - Access Point - Parking Area

Nice wide paved path. Plenty of parking. New benches here and there. Great place for a walk.

As a child I rode these trails when they were treacherous and hidden and made of dirt. As an adult, I am so glad that these trails have been paved and beautified. Im excited that I could potentially cross-country ski from my family home in Pendleton all the way to Rochester some day, and the informative placards along the trail help me connect even more to the history and nature of the area.

The Amerst section needs work. Theres some holes, that need fixing, and some bumps that need work as well, but it was nice.

Really great path, well kept and a nice bike ride with the family. Also some good views of the Canal along the way

Great paved walking/biking/skating etc path! We take our dog there for walks when the farmers trail next to our house is too muddy and its really a pretty paved path next to the canal which crosses streets and can take you from Lockport into Amherst maybe farther I cant remember exactly but I know its a very far connecting trailway. Most ppl you see are friendly. Many ppl walking their dogs or riding bikes etc. I def recommend this trail especially if you have dogs to walk or just want to go on a nice trail yourself!

Porta-johns would be a needed addition

Used to love to run here. Geese have made a mess of the path around wide waters. Found another path to run.

The canal trail is so much nicer and safer to ride on. Goes from prospect st. Bridge to Tonawanda. Creek rd. Then you can pick the trail up from there. Very nice ride

Great place to jog, walk the pup, bike. About 1-1/2 miles one way on this stretch. Its much longer with the extensions. Bring water and bring the burn!

The new stretch of trail is wonderfully done. So thankful to have nice biking trails in the area.

Love what has happened to the water way. Now they need to add kayak launches along the way so people can use the water as well as the walking path.

Nice and easy and not overbuilt.

Very nice roadway, would like more visibility of canal from pathway. Desperately need some traffic control when crossing Lockport Bypass and Lockport Road. We did enjoy ride and will do many more times, also recommend this section through Lockport to all other walkers and riders. Enjoy and be safe.

Grew up here and still prefer this pathway over all... its clean and we feel safe

The trail itself is great! Its awesome if you want to run, rollerblade, walk, bicycle or just take the dog out for a walk. The downside to the trail is that most people dont clean up after their animals. Other than that, it is a great place to get some exercise, look at the scenery and just get away from the city for a little while. My girl and I love coming to the trails and going for long walks. We also like bringing your German Shepherd for nice walks on the trail.

This is an access point for the Erie Canalway Trail which goes from here to Lockport, NY. It includes a parking area for easy access by car, bicycle or walking.
