The staff is awesome but just played course in October 2020 and it hasnt rained all summer and the course had a lot of wet spots and then in other spots its a dry as a bone. I thought the course should be in better shape. The greens were the best part because they were smooth and pretty fast.

Ive only played the Merlot course so far, and Im new to golf, but I love it. So beautiful, and I appreciate the hike. I recommend a hoofer bag or a push cart.

Poppy Ridge is such a great club house, driving range, and short game facility. The three different nine holes are all challenging and require every type of shot. The shortcoming is course condition. There are frequent bare spots on many holes. There are frequent soggy spots on many holes. You can lose an embedded ball in the middle of the fairway. It is very disappointing to be in a fairway bare or soggy spot and not be able to play the required shot.

Worst customer service of all time. Drove an hour to the club. We are out of town guests just wanting to play a golf round. When setting up the tee time we were very clear that we needed to rent a left and right set of clubs. The course representative said it wouldn’t be a problem. This is a course we have played before with some other executives so very excited to play it again. At check in the pro shop said they don’t rent clubs. U kidding!!! They called the golf pro thinking he would make something work. NOPE. Didn’t care. It was someone else’s fault and we weren’t able to play. The Pro actually said this has happened before. Well sir if it has happened before why did it happen again to us!!! Small businesses need to make things work and make the customer problems go away. Good luck in your business. Won’t be back.

Our First Time At Poppy Ridge! I Have To Say Awesome. What a panoramic view of the golf course. With Wineries and ranches unbelievable

Played after a rain and lightning delay. Course staff did a great job getting groups on the course. Greens are in great shape.

The course itself was a little disappointing after playing poppy hills. Extra points for the staff however. Day was going really slow (almost 3 hours for the first 9) but they identified my group as being fast and switched us to the alternate 9 holes and we were able to finish the second 9 in under 2 hours.

Walked 9 carrying. Course we played was walking friendly except for a few transitions between holesOverall in good shape but doubt I’ll ever go back. Took 3 hours which is ridiculous. Never seen a place that needed marshals more than this oneCourse was fine. Pace of play was a joke

Go for the scooters alone. Kick-butt fun. This is an easy course with a layout that keeps things as interesting as a farmers market on a Saturday. Staff is friendly and helpful plus you can help with their dating problems. Greens are slow but play is generally fast.

Poppy Ridge is arguably the best public course in the East bay. The staff is friendly, helpful and professional. The grass range is well maintained. The course if fair and challenging. My best golf experience since moving to the Bay area. Hallelujah! Definitely worth the drive...

The lady was very rude. No one acknowledged me. No one in pro shop but her and another employee who was on the phone. I needed a cart. She said 10 min past 8 no carts. So I left with my wife. The starter then said I could put you for 755 with a cart. I just left. They really didn’t want to help me. Why are they in the pro shop. Somebody has to be doing something RIGHT.

Restaurant does great food with a beautiful view over the golf course, with no membership required to dine there. Can be a little pricey but always some good value options on the menu. The bar and function room make for a great venue for private events and the staff have always been very friendly.

Ummmmm. It was amazing. Weather was prefect. Greens were a little spungy which caused some putts to do some crazy things as peoples footprints were sticking. It has been raining a lot so I cant blame for this.I imagine in dryer months the greens would not have this happen. I thought I made a tee time and it did not go thru. The guys on golf shop squeezed us in even tho they were busy. We drove from Napa so we were very excited to play. Difficult course if you cannot hit straight shots off tee boxes.

Great test of your game: need all shots and green reading to go low here. Played with no wind and the course was very fair. Prepare for bump n run and flop shot with spin and you will be happy!

Beautiful venue. Went there for a wedding, food was great, had a nice relaxing evening. Off the beaten path.

Need to be more prepared to serve all paying customers with equal amounts of carts for players or dont post available tee times without carts or be more transparent so golfers arnt duped into thinking that they will gave a cart if needed in my foursome there was a golfer whom had hip surgery 6 months ago was refus a cart while poppy ridge employees are out joy riding in cartsNot goid abd paying full price is sad

Went there for a wedding. Beautiful view from their clubhouse. Wedding done outside with tables inside for the meal. Dancing areas both indoors and out.

Compared to Poppy hills, this course is poorly maintained, lacks proper management and spacing of groups is poor

Very hilly courses that dip into ravines, and it was HOT when I played there.

This is the second time Ive been at Poppy Ridge in the past quarter for a retirement lunch. The service was good, the food is more expensive and really is lacking, messy and over cooked. Too bad because Poppys used to be good. If you want good parking, great views of the greens, good food at a reasonable price, head over to Beebs off Airport Blvd.

The golf course is always in great shape, the greens are great and the bunkers are sand, not dirt so you can actually get out with a sand wedge. Great course and pro shop and restaurant is also great..

Nice 27-hole course and good service. Plenty of parking. Our corporate outing of 200 had a well-run shotgun start and a buffet afterward with plenty of room for all.

They have a very good lunch menu. Ive eaten lunch there twice and its been good both times. Nice views of the golf course from the second floor balcony. Nice dining and pub lunch area with a good bar.

The two we played on were the same,,terriffic.the greens were a little slow but because of the heat and wind,but you better get ready to play a real thinking golf course.I wished I played better but last time I played that track was over 10 years ago.so one who plays it more often,will have a better chance scoring .

We went here for a wedding and reception. It was beautiful. The food was delicious. We dont eat meat, and the veggie entree was so flavorful. The staff was friendly, and we would definitely return here. Im sure their pictures will be lovely!

Played yesterday 4/20. Should have gone to the 420 fest in GG Park instead. Id of had more fun. Theres not much you can do about the weather. The wind was blowing 30+ mph and felt like it was in the low 50s. However, having to wait on EVERY SINGLE SHOT, including every tee box, is unacceptable. Sometimes as much as 5 minutes. Not once did we see a Marshall. As a matter of fact we saw the cart person more. 3 times in 9 holes. Id be hard pressed to find a worse experience playing golf and Ive played for almost 60 years. And this is supposed to be an NCGA managed course?

Stopped for lunch, and it was great. The food was about what you would expect for the price, but the view from the patio was absolutely perfect!

The staff was not very friendly. You walk in and you get the feeling that they are thinking, You dont belong here. You walk out to the Starter and the same attitude. The course itself was fine but way to windy. The only reason we went because of a special to play 27 holes. We drove three hours to get there. Never again!! Not worth putting up with the wind and the snobs.

The setting is beautiful and the food at Porters was very good. We will be going back again and again.

Nice views, which is hard to find for a restaurant setting. The food is pretty good too. Ive never golfed, but dont let that put you off visiting this restaurant.

Greens were really slow. Course was beautiful though. Ill try to play early morning next time to see if there is less wind. Overall a great set of 3 nines.

Good golf, good restaurant. Its hot in the summer though, with very little shade.

It was good, greens well kept. Not entirely sure it is a 100 dollar a round course. There is better value closer to civilization.

Beautiful course, decent rates. I played the Merlot and the Chardonnay for the first time. Picked at bad day as wind gust were almost 30 mph. They say its usually around 10-15 mph. I dont recommend bringing a beginner. Lots of hills, and youre always aiming away from your target to compensate wind. Fun but very difficult.

Excellent service and great good

They have 27 holes and no two holes are alike. Maintenance is always good. These three nine holes makeup some of the best golfing in the Tri-Valley area.

Tough but fun course. Too bad Zinfandel was out getting plugged. Both Merlot and Chardonnay had holes in the greens but they were still mostly true.
