Things to know before you go to Los Vaqueros:Boats:1. No personal boat launching is allowed, only boat rentals.2. They only rent out electric motor boats. Since they have to charge them after use, they cannot rent them out a second time.3. On weekends, if you want to make sure you get a boat, make sure to arrive at least an hour before the gates open. Make sure to go to the Vasco-Los Vaqueros Rd intersection. LV staff opens the gates to the kiosk an hour before opening time.Closures:1. Marina staff will close boat rentals if weather conditions meet certain conditions.a. If winds are ~12 mph or more, or if the water is white-capped, the marina staff will most likely close boat rentals.b. Fire warnings will easily prompt lake closure.2. Call the Marina the day before you plan on going, to confirm if they think they will be open the following day.

Less crowded place. Best place to visit during pandemic! There are 2 entries here! If you are not willing to hike, use Vasco road entry. You can reach till the lake and it’s beautiful. The other entry is better for hikers.

A nice place to come and do some fishing, rent a boat or do some hiking. Note if you come in the south side you can not drive all the way around. Most of the good trails are on the north side.

Gorgeous quiet park with beautiful blue lake view. Love it so serene park benches and car parking space. $6 to enter per car just don’t get mixed up with the North side which is dedicated to fishing. It’s about 20mins from North to South side drive. It’s one of the few parks around the Bay Area that’s not overcrowded. It’s like a little secret

It was only OK because the parking was not the best there was not a lot of spots that you could get to and theres no platform like it used to be years ago where there was a area with had benches that we could walk up to and fish everything has changed I think they need to let us fish off of the pier because the pier where they have you is not big enough for more than 4 people so that was really a big turn off for us

Went to check this place out. Hadnt been since we were forced out in 1991 for them to build this reservoir. So pretty now and the fishing was fab even though we didnt catch a thing!

It is a beautiful lake, but no bite action on fishing at this time

Great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. I use it mainly for fishing and this place charges for entry but is also well maintained. Be aware, no dogs at this park.

From November to March, this is the place to be for Stripers, Mt. Lassen trout and catfish. They will begin trout plants this month and will continue with, I believe, 4 plants a month. Keep in mind, in order to stock this top grade trout, they charge an entry fee, along with a license fee. Well worth it, due to the catch ratio, which is perfect to keep kids from getting bored.

Peaceful place

Obviously out in the cuts so no internet but the youngsters at the office were helpful. I couldnt get my license until the net worked. The gentlemen came to tell me the net was up and i bought my license. The also have a good selection of equipment, you can rent poles, and fishing there is a nice time. Caught rainbow trout and a nice carp.

When I visited the lake was pretty low because of the droughts at the time. However the place is pretty awesome overall. Hiking trails any which way you can think off, plenty of parking. I believe its a no swimming area but plenty of fishing to go around!

Very nice view and trail is also good. But be careful, there are lot of snakes. Fishing is too good, there is some promotion going on for fishing, you will get a fishing equipment free for under 16yrs with deposit of $25 approximately.

Beautiful place, beautiful mountain, I have seen many people came for fishing and so many had caught fish too, it was to fun to watch, guys its best place to go to tracking, when you walk close by near to mountain u can hear the loud wind making noise bizzzz bizzzz, it was very quiet and pleasant place .you will be mesmerized by the beauty of nature .Highly recommend to visit such beautiful place .
