Its interesting that we have wetlands in the Little Rock area that I see while driving on bridges over them but I havent been to close to them or know much about them. This is a fun experience because in a short amount of time and distance you find a place that is very different. Its wheelchair accessible along a sidewalk and boardwalk pier and has a couple portable bathrooms. There are many signs with pictures and paragraphs containing education about how the area is a lowland forest and wetland with biodiversity rivaling the Amazon rainforest. Its a pretty quiet and private experience. One other person came by. We did pass through swarms of tiny flies but it wasnt too bad.
I was there about 5:00 or so in the afternoon and was the only person there, the entire time I was there. Too short of a trail but it was nice and well maintained. I could hear creatures all around but only actually saw a dragonfly. Its all paved/sidewalk until you get to the bridge, then its all bridge.
Lovely accessible trail ending in a wooden bridge over the water.
This place is absolutely beautiful. A hidden gem. We were the only ones there and loved it.
A walk on the boardwalk in the Lorance Creek swamp is a good way to get back to nature within a short drive of the Little Rock metro area. Ive seen otters, beavers, deer and a wide variety of birdlife, plus cool reptiles and amphibians like cottonmouths and bird-voiced tree frogs. Bring your camera.
Pretty, but not much of a hike or walk. Only about 200 yards.
Very nice and quiet. There was not much stirring, but I still enjoyed the walk.
It was very nice and shady today. Only one half mile to the end of the boardwalk. Lots of cypress and water tupelo. They have done a nice job of making this a handicapped accessible trail with lots of signage explaining the history and scenery. You could do the entire trail in a wheelchair!
It was a fairly isolated area and I was nervous riding my bicycle There was only one couple leaving as I was getting there so I only stayed about 15 minutes in all. Probably wont return there.
It’s a very pretty area and very nicely done. There are MASSIVE pine trees!! About half of the walk is on a pier through the swamp, which was amazing since I had never seen a living, thriving swamp before. I only wish it was a longer trail since I enjoyed it so much.
Nice, shady hike. Over a marsh so humidity is high. Paved level path to board walk. No stairs. Restrooms at entrance. Enclosed board walk is good for letting supervised children or dogs wander free for a short distance. Beware we both returned with chiggers although we stayed on path.
Nice but short.
Very well kept! Short walk so its not as exciting as my family prefers. But for what it is, its cool place to see at least once
Nice paved trail and boardwalk trail out into the woods.
The trail is only a half mile round trip. Alot of beautiful scenery in just a short trip.
Short (about a 10-15 minute walk) but sweet. Not too many parks where you can walk on the swamp lands, so it was enjoyable. Just watch out for the massive wood bees.
Loved it, but too short. Needs to be longer.
Beautiful and quiet
5 stars bcuz its peaceful and quiet, seldom anyone else there, and its free. Also educational, especially if you expect it to be swampy and ugly.
I love walking down lorance Creek natural area its very pretty and peaceful
