This place has been lovely both times I have been here. The interior is very cozy and the outdoor seating is nicely done as well. I like that you can walk up to the bar from the courtyard. Ive had delicious cocktails here both times. Im hoping Bendt makes it through the pandemic. I would love to eventually have an event here!

Great atmosphere, great drinks! The live music was very good as well! Wouldve liked to be able to smoke on the patio but I understand the reasoning behind the no smoking. The bartenders were very attentive and helped us decide what we wanted. The inside had a brewery feel to it, very casual, definitely a place Id like to hangout.

Showed up to give the place a try for my birthday. It was a ghost town. There was only two other small groups of people there, and it was very quiet. No music, nothing.Since we were only allowed outside, I took my mask off once I got to the bar, which has a table that spaces you more than 6 feet from it, and the person that was working behind the bar promptly told me to put my mask back on, as they didn’t want to be shut down. First venue I’ve been to that requires a mask outside, but whatever, their house, their rules.I ordered the blended whiskey on the rocks with a splash of water. What I got was 6oz of alcohol in a plastic cup that faintly tasted like hand sanitizer. I love whiskeys, and was genuinely excited to try this. It was disappointing. My wife had a mixed drink that she said was ok.The vibe was just meh. The lighting and the ambiance was good, and the outside area had a nice touch of rustic. I’m a big fan of locally sourced and family run operations, which is the reason I’m being generous and gave two stars. We may give it another try once they figure out how to properly balance customer experience with COVID-19 safety protocol. They’re a little over the top right now.As for the whiskey, I hope that’s just a bad batch or something.We finished our drinks in about 10 minutes and went to Main Street and had a good time at a bar around the corner that had live music and an actual normal vibe to it.Give it a shot, and I hope your experience turns out better than ours.

Bendt Distilling is a local treasure. Knowledgeable staff will provide a fantastic tour through their operation. There are sights and sounds that can only be seen on the tour, not to mention the intoxicating smell of their wares in the barrel room! Once you are done with the tour grab a craft cocktail at the bar and dont forget to grab some swag to represent this local spot before you leave! Outdoor areas are great when the weather is nice to play games and hang with friends.

We visited Witherspoon for a friends birthday and took the tour which was great. The guide was funny and the brewery has a great story to tell. The whiskey was awesome, and the craft drinks were some of the best Ive had in town. I will definitely go back, that pre-mixed old fashioned isnt going to last long, haha.

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!! Buzz, their Tour Guide, is amazing, very friendly, and super knowledgeable. All of the spirits and other consumable products are DELICIOUS and very high-quality, all made in-house. Only gripe was theyre in a merchandise transition, and didnt have the shirts we wanted to buy in our sizes lol. Highly recommended!!!

We went to the cocktail making class and had a fantastic time. Michael was an excellent and humorous tour guide, and Lauren presented the how to for making the cocktails like a pro. She answered all of our questions and ensured we were comfortable making our drinks. 10 out of 10 experience, would 100% go again for another class if different cocktails were featured. This is a midsize distillery. We booked a tour and a tour was well organized, well detailed with their process. We also received additional tastings after the tasting of some of the newer releases. They have a bar for mixed drinks, we did not visit the bar area but it appeared to be busy and very well organized. The Bourbons, malt whiskey, rye whiskey and other various whiskeys and spirits have something for everyone.

Took a time out at Witherspoon Distillery. Neat place. Fun place. Gorgeous place. The drinks we had were the Hemingway (grapefruit, cherry cordial and whiskey), a craft root beer, and a seltzer.

Great staff very friendly and helpful. Tour is very cool to do learned a lot.

My wife and I had a great time. We opt out for the tour this time but will go soon. All the drinks where awesome and well crafted. You can tell the bartenders know what they are doing. I am starting to get into some mixology at home and find it is awesome that all the simple syrups and bitters they make in house. Will be back soon with some friends to hang out and drink.

Tour was great and they know a ton about the art. Gin and reserve rum were particular high points.

Im a huge whiskey and bourbon guy, and this is right in my backyard. How the (H E double hockey sticks) do I not now about this place. It looks like the first review was in 2013, so its been six years! Witherspoon is a large facility with an onsite distillery. They have a large open seating area with an active bar and shop. Outside there is a gravel patio with more seating and outdoor games. Mist fans have been installed to help cool the air. The decor is beautiful. Used bourbon barrels are set up everywhere. The high top tables and bars are made from solid pieces of wood. Theyre gorgeous.

We had been meaning to check this place out for quite some time. Sorry we waited so long.It was really enjoyable. The drinks were creative and craft made. The bourbon was pretty tasty too. The entire staff was awesome. You can just tell that everyone there “gets it”. Great product, great service, a cool scene, music. We did the tour - it was fun and interesting. These guys know their whiskey.Not much available by way of food but J2 is just around the corner and they are pretty good tooThe cocktails are pricey but we didn’t begrudge that.

I havent been to the distillery in over a year. The atmosphere and staff are great. I am only giving it three stars, because I was very disappointed that you can no longer smoke cigars either inside or outside. There were also no food trucks or music on a Friday evening. I heard the ownership has changed and Quentin Witherspoon was bought out.

What a great little craft distillery! They distill multiple liquors but the main craft is whiskey. They do that very well indeed. Whites and ambers ranging in intensity. White dog will appeal to the moonshine/125 proof crowd. Straight burbon, old fashioned and wild card. The onsite bar is formal at the tables and laid back with leather sofas. They offer full tours of the facility. After the tour enjoy a drink and maybe some live music. Food trucks usually on location. We didnt want to leave and well definitely be back.

Highly recommend the tour. We had Buzz as a guide and he was awesome. It was well worth the price and my wife and I truly enjoyed the tour and the tasting.

Great atmosphere!!! We love coming to this place. They have a food truck the sets up off the outside area. There whiskey is AWESOME!!! We haven;t done a tour yet but we will definitely be doing one soon. Every time we have been there has been live music. Every drink we have tried has been excellent. Looking forward to out next time to hangout there.

Witherspoon has apparently rebranded to Bendt Distilling Co. I havent visited since then, but the original was an amazing experience with excellent spirits and staff.

Not sure what happened with our bill. almost 60.00 for 4 drinks. I should of paid closer attention. 2 bourbons and 2 shots of tequila. wow. I think they must of added something to our bill on accident we did have a semi big party there. Wish I would of paid closer attention. Be careful when looking at the bill it was kind of dark.

Came In last night before a concert. The decor is really cool. Love the barrels as you walk in. And the tables are long slabs of wood supposedly from one big tree. The music vocals could have been a little louder. And the drinks were super pricey. $32 for two old fashioneds. Seemed a little much.

I had a great time visiting Witherspoon. My husband and I had different drinks they were both excellent. We ended up buying a couple of bottles to take home with us. There was live music the night we were there and it was a great atmosphere and nice time. We love going back when we can.

Purchased a case of the 100 proof bourbon, excellent but 3 of the 4 bottles that we opened, the corks came apart in our hands. Need to glue them together better ( stronger or better glue). Lewis Witherspoon, San Diego, California.

Got the Groupon that includes tour for two and $30 of merchandise. This was a great tour and tasting! Quality product and great story of this family owned distillery. So far only distributed in Texas. Our tour guide was so friendly and told a great history of how they make bourbon. Quality merchandise as well. There is a huge outdoor area and large indoor bar.You can just go there and hang out without doing the tour, as well. I will go back with more friends!

Awesome drinks! Great place to hang out and play games outside. We have done their tour several times very entertaining staff and they teach you everything you want to know about alcohol.

Took the tour and tasted their wares. The guides were fascinating and informative. The rum cake was amazing, as was the bourbon cream. Finished the evening with a Gingersnap from the bar (featuring their house made craft ginger beer). Such a fun experience and I would highly recommend a visit.

Excellent. Buzz the tourguide/coolguy was funny, and informative throughout. Didnt have anyone try to sell me anything; in fact, I dont even know how much a standard bottle cost. My gf and I enjoyed ourselves, and looked around a little afterwards.

Great tour and there is a good reason everyone raves about their bourbon.

Service was terrible waited for 10 minutes still no service had to go find someone to take my order. Once I did staff was so busy taking shots and talking bartender forgot what I ordered. Its a shame place could be very fun if the staff paid any attention to the customers.

I bought a tour for two from Groupon and what a fun time it was! It is a mix of laughter and facts about spirits, ending with a tasting of all the products. The tour was a gift for my boyfriend for his birthday and he absolutely loved it! Everyone was so friendly and the rum cake there is AMAZING! So wonderful we went home with a slice :) highly recommend to anyone!

The tour given by the man himself, Quentin Witherspoon, was wonderful and we learned quite a bit about different liquors, how they are made and what it takes to make them. The distillery is more than just the manufacturing area, it has a bar and an outdoor space and is a great place to hang out. We had to leave right after the tour but came back later for the live music, trivia night, food truck and corn hole outside!The drinks here are outstanding whether you like your liquor straight up or prefer an artisan cocktail, you cant go wrong.

Ive slept and rested on this review, and put some thought in to it. Yesterday my wife and I visited for the first time. It is a very nice venue, well decorated, clean and friendly staff. I started out with a whiskey on the rocks, and was not impressed with the whiskey at all. It tasted like a $8 bottle you would mix to celebrate hump day. My wife had a mixed drink (cant remember the name) but she was not impressed either, especially not for the price!. We gave it a third try and ordered a orange cream/Orange cicle. Some syrup, cream, a little whiskey and a ton of ice cubes for $12. Absolutely not worth the money!We ordered food from the food truck, and it get same rating as the distillery. 2 meals and a very small handful of sweet potato fries for 23. Didnt get full, not even close. It was a total ripoff, and a disappointing experience.Let me summarize, nice venue for the upper middle or upper class. If you have loads of money and dont mind spending it on mediocre drinks and low quantities of food. We will not return, and will stick to 54th street or drunken donkey.Disclaimer: this is review is based on my personal experience and opinion and may vary from yours!

So glad I found this tour for my wife and I. Quentin, owner and founder was awesome! Tour was about an hour and a half. Great info on the distillation process and their products, complete with fully functional on-site still and full service bar. They offer their products for sale and my wife and I couldnt have been happier with the tour or the free tasting that is offered afterwards. Thanks so much!

My husband and I went on a tour here, bought the tickets from Groupon. Weve lived in Lewisville our whole lives and didnt know this place existed!They have a food truck and live music. The atmosphere is nice and laid back! Whiskey is also amazing and youve got to try their Rum Cake; all their ingredients come from local places. All the employees were nice and attentive.

We celebrated our anniversary by doing a tour here and really enjoyed ourselves. The owner was hilarious and very knowledgeable about his product and how the process works. The products we tasted were delicious and we will def be choosing Witherspoon on a more regular basis when we purchase from the store. We cant wait until the new cinnamon one is available. Thank you Witherspoon for making our 5th anniversary a fun one!

Had a great time on the tour. Learned some things that I didnt know about the distillation process. The back story of the distillery founders is really interesting also. I would recommend you check out the website for their tour schedules, and give them a visit.

We went for a distillery tour and tasting with some high hopes for the taste since the cost isnt cheap. Quentin is a character and you can tell he is very knowledgeable and passionate about his product. Their setup is interesting and very different than a big batch, multiple tank environment. Worth a look see for sure and props to Quentin for making some darn good drinkable bourbon and ohh la la rum. I bought the t-shirt so I guess that means Im a customer now.
