A senior group is holding meetings there. The building is accessible, clean and actually perfect. Comfortable seating.
Great time for the family. Kids loved it. Employees are very kind and make it enjoyable.
Dont do Caboose train rides. Theyre not up to Par and owners are on board yatta yatta about anything and if you didnt book a seat for upper level you get a cracked up window with little to no heat. Plus since the upper level wasnt reserved owners will request you to sit in you area while they do whatever they do.. also you have to sit on repurposed futon mattresses looking out a port hole.
My Date and I went on a Valentine Excursion boarding the Train in Lebanon, when we boarded we were given our wine and snack box for the trip, the train was decorated with the Valentines Theme and had music playing, we were able to set where we wanted in our train car, the snack box was very feeling and the wine was very good, I would recommend doing this we enjoyed our evening and will do this again.
I cant speak about this place on any given day. However we visited this train station for our annual Day out with Thomas the Train we come every year for my little nephews birthday celebration. He is obsessed with trains especial Thomas. The area was clean the neighborhood seem nice and quiet. The entire day is nothing short of a blast. The train station provides this experience for children and family and we have an absolute blast every year. Lots of fun activities you can do as a whole family. Storytime, bounce houses, mini games, photo opportunities with different character as well as a gift shop. All age friendly environment as well train ride on Thomas himself. Definitely worth checking into.
We enjoyed a ride on the train with the family. It was a nice experience and relaxing. The kids had a fantastic time. We were very lucky because there were not many people on this trip and it was the family pizza train. We received personal pizzas from la Rosas and a beverage. We also ventured through the train cars and enjoyed some snacks. Great time a day would recommend to anyone. We will be back!!
Love the pumpkin patch express took our special little guy on it
We took the two great grandchildren this afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. I read some negative reviews, and was a bit concerned, but happy to say that we and the children really enjoyed everything about the ride. The cocoa and cookies were welcomed and you could take them on the train. The children (aged 3 & 7) loved the visit from three different elves who were dressed adorably, a wonderful, realistic Santa who took time for photos and a chat with each child. The children especially liked getting balloons from one of the elves and the bell from Santa. I highly recommend this train trip. Anita G.
We had a great time visiting the railroad! They let us throw our grandfather an amazing 85th birthday party! The conductor Dick and his employees were extremely helpful, kind and accommodating! Thank you for a wonderful trip, for tell us all fun facts about the area, and for helping us have a great family trip!
If you love trains and your children love trains this is a great time.Nothing complicated you buy your tickets, get some hot chocolate and a cookie, then board an old school passenger train for a ride down the tracks. They have elves giving out balloon animals and santa comes by to say hi to the kids. My son and daughter absolutely loved it.Also they have some cool historical memorabilia at the station where you depart which is awesome. The old fashioned gas pumps were around when my father was a child, and were being replaced. It cost $ 102 for two adults and two kids and was worth it. You get about an hour ride on the train.FYI there are no restrooms on the train. They do a good job of informing you before you leave of this fact. If you have a condition like irritable bowel syndrome or enlarged prostate and you need frequent trips to the restroom this could be a living hell for you. Take care.Other than that I enjoyed it and the kids had a great time which was the reason for the trip.May make this an annual thing.
We did the fall colors Ohio rail experienceWell because they didn’t clear the tracks the train stopped so many times it made us late for train museum, so we could not do this and lost the whole ride experience... I do not recommend this ride for the cost. The website was better than the experience. When the train did move for over 5 minutes it was kool sway back and forth ride. They did have concession car full of snack main food was hotdogs and Nachos... They made it sound like you would go through the forest all you did was cut through farmers property this was pretty sad...Okay so the ride back was Awesome the trained rolled at 25 miles an hour and it was really swaying now. Wooohooo The concession stand cargo doors where open which made this fun they have a rail bar on both sides to hold on to... I figure the only reason they were flat opt moving was because it was time for engineers to go home.
We went for the polar Express type of train ride and it started off not super great and never really picked back up- we first had to stand outside in line while it rained to get our hot chocolate and then once we got on the train it was a little drab, not really magical like I had hoped- they kept saying how we were going to the North Pole which bummed my 5 and 2 year old out when we never got off the train and they didnt go in a circle, we stopped for 15 minutes and the went back the same way we came- there was nothing to see as far a scenery went and the santa they had was a little lack luster in his dingy suit.... The conductor we had, thought of himself as a comedian but was only making himself laugh- I really wouldnt recommend this ride... Id rather go to the zoo and ride their train! Its a lot cheaper too!
Kids had fun because it was a train ride. Santa was on board and the elf going around was making balloon animals. Santa gave each child a bell. That made them feel special. Each family got a ornament. You picked up your cookie and cold cocoa outside. Not served on train like in movie. I expected to see things going on at the north pole and it was just a couple Christmas lights. I was disappointed not seeing elves working and waving. The north pole lit up with people. I heard the north pole Express is more of what Im wanting just little more expensive. Plus they sing and do things on the train. Ill pay the extra money next year for a better experience.
My husband and I visited the LM&M Railroad for the first time to attend their Valentines Wine & Cheese Train. Parking for the railroad is a little archaic (street parking, for the most part), but otherwise the entire experience was great. Their little office for tickets was packed and had a small gift shop that included train sets and other memorabilia. Our reservation was found without a hitch, and we walked across the street to the train. They had standalone bathrooms outside the train with a trash can and benches, and I used the womens restroom and it was clean and well-stocked.We boarded early (5:30, the ride was to start at 6:30). Immediately, they gave us wine glasses and a goodie box of snacks in these nifty and cute little closeable containers. I didnt think Id like the wine (I usually hate rose wine, but this was actually sweet), but I really enjoyed it. My husband and I both have dietary restrictions, but there were still snacks in the box we could enjoy, which was nice. They included everything from grapes, olives, and cheese to chocolate-covered pretzels, pastries, and crackers. The train was decorated with a Valentines theme which really helped the atmosphere. The ride itself was a lot of fun; the train swayed back and forth on the tracks just enough that it was hilarious watching tipsy happy people try to navigate back and forth between the bar and their seats without falling over. Classic romance songs were playing in the background, all of them appropriate. The ride lasted from sunset to early night and was a Point A to Point B to Point A type of affair. Lastly, they handed out these cute little conductor hats made out of thick paper that you could make and put on. Mine didnt fit (my husbands did), but we found it hilarious nonetheless since I looked ridiculous. My husband and I love to try different train rides from various railroads (on vacation and locally), and this is one of the best weve been on. Im a train guy while my husband simply likes to relax and support my interests, but being child-free means we like to avoid the rides aimed toward children (Easter, Christmas, etc.). If youre looking for something fun and romantic to do with your partner, we would highly recommend the railroad for couple activities as well. This is one railroad well be returning to in the future.
It is what it is. Up the track and reverses so youre riding facing front but then ride backwards. Seats do convert so you dont have to see where youve been on the way back. Neat decor. Old light fixtures and other indicators that this train is definitely historical. Made several stops back to the depot. Not sure what the issues were but a couple of times the train really jerked hard, both to stop and to get going again. Something neat for the kids.
Super fun! My 3 year old loved it! Historic train rides are his favorite now. Cars were clean and experience was great.
Fun outing. The staff was great. Highly recommend taking the little ones on this train ride.
It was a great service. Very good customer service
Great train ride! The conductor was really nice and knowledgeable. All the employees were super nice and friendly. It was a short trip that was approximately 1hour and 15 minutes. The train takes you out to Hagerman Junction and then the train pushes you back to the train station. We took our 2 year old granddaughter on her first train ride. We wasnt sure if she would like it or not. She loved it! I would highly recommend it for a small childs first ride on a railroad.
This was a wonderful train ride. Its the first train ride I ever had. It was a fun train ride, but it would be more fun with friends, not just a couple.
Life size Thomas tank engine... Ride was boring and could have improved by making it more interactive. Event site also could be improved especially for the price ($19+$2*)Parking was roadside you may have to find a spot to parkFood is ok and its only ride centric. In a way Good we managed to drive nearby Newport aquarium
The train ride is for kids. Not for adults. The Santa will not give you candy and the elf will not make you a balloon animal... Sad sad sad. Still enjoyed it with my fiance though.
We had a blast on the Easter bunny train. Highly recommend for parents. Your children will enjoy this. I loved the antique cars.
The polar express was the highlight of our son’s Christmas experience! He loved every moment and the elves were so fun! We can’t wait to do it again!
Very fun ride with the kids. We took a Christmas train. Very well done. Santa was there and spoke with every person. Free candy and souvenir token. Even had a balloon artist. Nice train ride for just about the right amount of time for the kids. Easy walk to downtown Lebanon when finished. Plenty of parking on booth sides of the track. Free hot chocolate as well.
No directions on website or signs as in where to park! We got stuck trying to turn around on a small road where the train was located. (where GPS took us) We had several cars behind us and made it difficult for any of us to get turned around to get to train on time with parking.Staff was friendly & Town lights were pretty, but suggest make parking more clear and post directions regarding parking.
We did the Christmas/Santa train ride for my 2 year old at the time and it was a good experience. Im not sure we would do it again but I would definitely recommend going at least once. The rides to and from were just a little long and a bit boring for our daughter but maybe since shes older it would be worth going again. The train stopped for snacks and refreshments and a visit with Santa. My daughter had a good time.
It was inclosed so we werent cold. Not much to see really. Five miles down the track to Mason and then give miles back to Lebanon riding backwards because the train cant turn around. I thought the advertising was misleading since it says Lebanon Mason Monroe ride. There was no Monroe on this ride. It was a beautiful day thank goodness.
Better for children ages 4 and up, however on board staff are always their to help keep children entertained, answer questions and provide assistance. Everyone is polite and friendly. A good blast from the past!
Train ride was fun! Just a little disappointed in our cars conductor. Other conductors gave some history and pointed things out during the trip. Ours only told us her best friend just got engaged...
Went for the Santa train ride. Highly recommended. You pick up your tickets from the train area. Get a hot chocolate and cookie. On the train there was a balloon artist. They come through and punch your tickets and give you a golden ticket. We picked up Santa and Mrs. Claus who eventually made their way through the train. They give the kids a bell from Santas sleigh. They give you a train ornament. Fun experience.
We did the Christmas train ride with Santa in coach seating, and it was a neat experience that I can see doing again. Our tickets included hot cocoa in a Christmas mug with lid, plus a cookie, a jingle bell from Santa (given to kids only), and keepsake ticket. The conductor and Santas helper for the car were fun, and led the car in singing Santa Claus is Coming to Town, as well as did balloon animals for each child. We picked up Santa a few minutes into the ride and stopped him back off at his christmas train, which was fun.The seating is comfortable, with two seats per bench type seat (padded with seat back). If youre in a group, the seat backs can be moved so the seating faces the row behind; just be aware youll bump knees because the seats are close together. If you take a stroller, it wont fit easily down the aisle of the car, so theyll stow it for you during the ride. The car is heated, and the windows can be cracked open if it gets too stuffy.Be aware that these trains were not designed for handicap accessibility at the time they were made. Seats and aisles are narrow and youll be sitting close. Theres not a lot of room for crutches or walkers. Because its a car full of sugared up children with jingle bells and balloon animals, be prepared for it to be noisy. If you have a baby or children sensitive to noise, you may wish to bring ear muffs or headphones. This was a unique, fun experience. We went with family, and the kids all had a great time.
Its a train ride
Rode their North Pole Express and found it to be an awesome experience! Picking up my tickets at the depot went very smoothly. While in there, I noticed they have a nice selection of train related items. Our conductor was a gentleman named Dick. He was super! Twinkle the elf visited us and got us going in the Christmas spirit with a song and was super talented making balloon animals!! We also received hot chocolate in travel mugs, a tasty cookie and a very nice metal Christmas ornament. This is a must, for every family!! Lebanon is a beautiful town and the whole train ride was awesome!!
Nice 1st time trip. Friendly staff. View from train limited due to much over growth of brush, weeds about 30% of ride. Clean facilities. Not too many of these old trains left. Worth seeing at least once.
I rode the Christmas train with my son my daughter-in-law and my two grandchildren. I felt it was wonderful. The elf that was making the balloon animals did s tremendous job. The children loved it. The hot cups of chocolate where a nice touch. You got to keep the cup. Santa Claus did a good job but he should have been carrying some Irish cream for my chocolate. Get your tickets early cuz they sell out.
First time on the North Pole Express and had a great time. I highly recommend it
Good for a nostalgic rail ride. Not much to see but still had a good time. Cant wait for the Polar Express.
Price was high for what was offered. They warn to dress for the weather. If its cold there is NO heat
There was nothing scenic about the ride. Mostly woods and farm. Happy I had a Groupon for the discount. Good for very small children for a first train ride.
It was fun to be on an old train and to move around and purchase some food was fun too. I was hoping it would be a little more scenic though, rather than houses.
Wish they would start the train excursions again.
I take the grandsons on the North Pole Express every year. They do a wonderful job. This will be our 15th year!
And awesome night out taking things back in time
Our family of 6 went on the North Pole Express trip. It was an AWESOME experience! We have 2 15 year olds, a 13 year old and a 4 year old. The trip was enjoyed by us all! The hot chocolate and iced sugar cookie were perfect. The elf who made balloon art was so fun and the train conductor who sang Christmas songs was a hilarious hit! My husband and I both said that this was worth every penny!
Its a great experience for kids and we love that they do themed triains
Took my 3yr old daughter and 7yr old son on the Princess train experience. My daughter couldnt have been happier and the princesses were so great with her as she was a bit starstruck. My son had fun as well as the whole crew made sure he was included in the fun. Thank you so much for a great experience.
Fun little rede. 70 minutes. This time of year is when you want to ride and take in the fall colors.
Great place to take the young ones if you you to spent the afternoon on a steam train!! Kids both loved it, brought a 3 yr old and an 8yr old..
Interesting if you like old trains and they had balloon animals for the kids, but not much to see on the ride.
It was a fun experience. Met some real interesting people.
Fun but the ride wasnt long enough and couldnt see much but still fun to take a ride in a train
Not scenic at all Santa had to much peppermint schnapps. Not a very fun experience
Its not that I didnt like it, it just was not that great. No scenery to look at. It was very hot. The people working were nice.
I expected more but it was for the grandchildren. They had a great time and thats all that matters.
We went on the wine and cheese train. It was my husband and my first time on a train. It was a very nice ride. Beautiful views. The only thing I would recommend is pay the extra $5 for the air conditioned cars. It was really hot the day we went and the fans didnt really help.
Fun train ride, would be great with kids. About 2 hours and top speed is about 10 to 15 MPH.
I used to go to this as a kid. They have adult train rides now with wine tasting and beer nights. The shop is across the street from the train (it moved from one of the smaller buildings). When you go here, try the chocolate shop (the parking lot is next to the ticket office and the entrance is on the main road).
For 20 bucks it wasnt worth it...should be half that....nothing pretty to see and we went like 5 miles real slow then put it in reverse and back we went....you can walk from car to car...one car had cider popcorn caramel applesand pie a small concession on it you could walk thru the cars to get to it while going down the track...I wouldnt do it again...another thing off mybbucket list...
Wonderful place experience and people and the price is amazing for the historic beauty it is
Purchased our tickets from Groupon for a good price. Train ride was nice, and relaxing, not much to see, just a few businesses, mainly trees, and overgrown greenery.
We went down a day out with Thomas. We had a great time! It was really hot though. We missed our first train because we had to drive a long distance, but they were able to fit us on at the next schedule train. Everyone was really nice despite the heat.
It was a fun train ride. It was short and the concessions were overpriced, but its to be expected for a train. I enjoyed riding in a piece history.
Great place for wife and kids to enjoy.
Very fun holiday train ride.
Awesome experience. We rented the caboose for a birthday party. I HIGHLY recommend that!
Took an elderly client here. He loved it.
Honestly not worth it unless you like seeing ditches and weeds. I dont see much history going down. Was told we were gonna be informed during our trip but it was just silent with almost everyone being disappointed and complaining. You basically see like 2 creeks and the rest is industry parks very boring and disappointing.
Took my daughter on the North Pole express. We had an enjoyable ride. I would have rated higher if not for the disorganized loading and unloading process which resulted in us standing outside in the 15 degree cold for more than 20 minutes. I understand the challenge of getting so many families off of the train and the need to clean but this seemed to be too much. As an attraction that targets children, a quicker more efficient process such as exiting on one end of each car with simultaneous boarding on the opposite end would work better. Heaters or burn barrels on the platform could be useful as well.
The north pool train ride at night was not what I was thinking it was going to be. I thought we would see more Xmas lights along the way, also I thought the train would have more decorations, only one train was decorated. I could have went to another venue for the price with more lights at night. The kids enjoy it, but not my two year old, nothing for him to be amazed about. The daytime train ride might be different. Probably would have enjoyed it more if all tickets were price the same, I paid more because it was the only thing available, overpriced.
Dont trust google maps. We were almost late because google maps told us to go down a street to get there, and the train was blocking that street, so we couldnt get there. We had to go a few blocks down then cut over. Had trouble finding parking too... Other than that it was a fun evening.
Truely an amazing place to go sights are beautiful especially around fall time the staff are nice and you can see some funny people at the crossings the workers definitely keep this as a museum in motion. Although there could be some repairs such as the tracks and it would be nice if they ran farther often it is still an amazing place to go, this isn’t supposed to be some luxury long and yet fast train ride it’s supposed to be a look back into the past and see what train travel was like then. Highly recommended it to anyone.
The North Pole Express was amazing!
Cute and fun. Our conductor was a really nice fellow
Plan your visit around your train ride! Arrive a half hour prior to your departure time so you have time to pick up your tickets and look around the gift shop which is now across the street from the Train. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks but there are also snacks available for purchase. The conductors punch your ticket after the train is underway. They hand out smiles, paper conductor hats and answers to your questions. You are welcome to walk through the train cars or sit and enjoy the view during the leisurely ride. After the ride ends, take advantage of the photo op area where there is one of those cute stand up boards with a train painted on the front and holes for your smiling faces to look through for a nice memory to put it in your scrapbook. Dont forget to stop by the Golden Turtle Chocolate Factory, the Golden Lamb Inn, the Ice Cream shops and all the other store fronts in this adorable small town. Enjoy!
A must for train fans, young and old. Reasonably priced, conductors in full uniform. Refreshments are sold during the rd ide.
Took a ride when our kids were young for the Santa train. Came back again for the Thomas train with our grandson. He absolutely loved it! He is still talking about riding in Thomas. The ride was quite short for the money, 30 min, but overall we had a good time.
The staff didnt give us any information on the railroad or the train during the ride. He handed us a flyer. Not very friendly and the train ride wasnt very scenic. We saw the backside of several industry and buildings. I was disappointed.
We went for the fall train ride with our family and a friends family. Everyone had a great time and we all would like to come again for another themed ride. Easy on and off with no hassle.
We took the north pole express tonight and couldnt have had a more magical time. The children enjoyed every second. The value we got for the price was incredible. 5 star experience, my favorite Christmas train ever. Definitely recommend the deluxe coach car.
My wife and I really enjoyed the train ride. If you want to know the history on railroads in the area just talk to Conductor Andrew. He is really nice and extremely knowledgeable. We will be getting tickets for the upcoming Christmas ride.
3200 car supposedly deluxe by website, was musty smelling, which I carried home in my clothing, and under air conditioned for 90 day. Last rode 20 yrs. ago and Saturdays ride felt like de ja vu. Nothing but a ride out for 30 minutes and 30 minutes back in reverse. Overpriced $$$.
We did the fathers day cookout trip today and it was fantastic. The kids loved it and I felt transported back in time. Job well done, well definitely be back for future trips.
Fun ride on this historic train.Nice experience
Well kept walking area nearby, great places to eat next door, and wonderfully maintained rail cars
Really good time, nice people, a lot of fun. We will definitely be back
We took a ride o the Polar Express it was a great to step back into the past. Great fun was had by all.
There was not things to look at out side the train
It was okay I wasnt to fond of the balloon animals but this was back in December before Christmas time it was a Christmas train ride I still had fun though I was with Rhonda and her grandson Cortland at the time
We did the Easter train express. While we had a good time, there were a few issues worth noting. We had a group of 14 people. I called ahead and was told to arrive 30 minutes early and they could accommodate us by letting us on the train first (as they said they do with all large groups) so we could sit together. While they didnt actually let us on first or do anything when the doors opened, we were able to get seats all together. We took the simple ride to the Easter field. The bunny and egg hunt were cute. However, there was no organization or direction from anyone regarding the return. We went to get back on the train and someone took our seats! While that person was rude, it seems the train company should have some policy to prevent this. Or at least warn people that your seat might be taken. We had to ride the 30 minutes return with the group separated and were very frustrated. Likewise, there was no info regarding refreshments or anything. I didnt even realize one of the cars was selling drinks until the end.Overall, the kids enjoyed it, but the lack of communication and organization on the part of the company caused unnecessary frustration.
We all had a great time Dave our host was AWSOME he said its only his second day but he made us comfortable and we had a fantastic time .
Helpful staff, great organization and lots to do in Lebanon. Too bad the leaves hadnt turned yet! Our church would definitely go for another train ride!
The train itself was delightful, very well kept and authentic. However our party and those sitting around us who had come from places far away, all commented that an historically marketed experience could have done much better in offering commentary on the region and life during the the time period the train was fully functional. Instead, we had piped in music of pop/rock the entire ride. Music from an authentic time period (or no music at all) would have made the experience much more enjoyable. The staff, at no time, offered any historical commentary or interesting information about the area. We left disappointed. Theres so much more for, the, money charged they could have done
My wife and I took our 5 year old granddaughter on the Princess excursion on 3-17-18. We found the staff to be very helpful and accommodating to the kids. The fairies that came thru the train took their time, took requests from the kids on what type of balloon they would like. They were very willing to pose for pictures. Our granddaughter loved the way people on the street would wave when we went by. When the train returned to the station it was a short walk to meet the Princesses. Those ladies were wonderful. I never felt rushed or hurried along. She got lots of hugs and photo opportunities. Overall it was a very memorable event for all of us. We hope to return for a future event.
Rode this past weekend for the first time. We were in town for a wedding and needed to entertain the kiddos until Saturday night. Staff was very helpful. My daughter needed to use the restroom and one of the ladies in concession stepped up to help her when she was scared to go into the train restroom. Kudos for her compassion and smiling face. Learned about the history of the train which was cool too. Ill have to watch Milk Money now to see the train in it! Was a nice way to spend the afternoon and a winter day. We dont live close but will be back.
