A small amount of hiking and trails around Den rock. The rock structure is pretty large and you can climb to the top of it . Along my walk I saw a few beaver dams one of them was massive. I also saw a barred owl while I was there.

Not easy access to get there just by simple walk from houses around, eg. family walk with stroller. And when we arrived what a mess.. this place probably serves as shopping mall for junkies.. just park car and go get it in the woods. We immediately left that park. Definitely not a clean place to be.

I enjoyed this park. The trails are clearly marked with paint or ribbon, very primitive. The water is very serene in the snow.

Trail is walkable but there is a lot of broken glass on the paths. Just an FYI if you bring dogs.

Nice walk or run. Huge rock in there. People rock climb this huge rock. There are things to hook your carabiners onto. Pond with meadow. Be safe.

Great spot for a ramble and gets better the farther you get from the parking lot. Lots of cans/bottles near the rocks and found discarded needles too, so keep a close eye on kids in that area.

Great local park/hiking trails. My dogs love this area. Trails are not too long and good scenery. Can be a very tranquil place, which is nice. Not much parking though.

Im surprised something like this is within the limits of the City of Lawrence. Nice little trails and even some spots for rock climbers. Small but still quite nice. Sometimes the trails are unkempt and I know one of my friends who visits often actually cut down a large tree limb blocking one of the paths because it had been there for months and nobody maintained it. Sometimes sketchy people are out in the parking lot but nobody has ever bothered me or anybody I know. Sometimes you get confused because you feel like youre out on nature but then you realize you can still hear the road behind you.

Just a nice chuck of woods in an otherwise nutty city. Trails are easy and nice little walks. My daughter and I love going to look for animal tracks! And please take your trash with you!!!

The park is better than I expected. Theres parking, a map, and information on the park. The trials are marked on trees by paint and some signs. The map and the way the trials are drawn on the map dont line up. We lost the red trial and decided to do the blue trial but then blue changed to green. Very very confusing but we decided to just turn around to be on the safe side. We will be returning because it is nearby. Maybe we can make sense of it.

There isnt that much to do if you are looking for a family park but if u are looking for a forest type/hiking atmosphere thats local for walking a pet or getting a little up hill exercise with a friend or by yourself, it should do the trick!! **Just trees and uphill trails.

Certainly exceeded my expectations given the area its in. Plenty of exploring to do, multiple geocaches, even saw some people rock climbing. Dog friendly, but not as conducive to letting your pooch roam free as other nearby locations (surrounded by highways / turnpikes, no real swimming area). More woodsy and less manicured than similar locations, which has both its pluses and minuses. Very relaxing escape into nature... until you get near the highway. Went with a dog and a 12 year old and they both had a blast- 12 year old particularly loved the geocaching aspect (worth the $5 or so for the app to make a kid feel like Indiana Jones while hes walking through the woods in Lawrence). For what its worth I didnt see a single needle, if- like me- that possibility may be a hangup for you. Very clean!

A hidden gem, its hard to believe there can be such a nice park with trails, trees, and a river right next to the Interstate, but it doesnt intrude (the frogs were louder than the cars).
