One word. Passion. The staff here is focused on quality of life, diet, enrichment, and safety for the animals. I love the attention given to the smallest details. The amphitheater is perfect for outdoor education. I definitely will go back any chance I get. One of the funnest things to do in Vegas. Thank you Gilcrease for what you do️️️
I had such a great time here today. I donated and gave the animals a bunch of lovin. The grounds are kept up so nice. This is a must stop for tourists coming in to town. And for locals like myself. I met Steve and he was so friendly and knowledgeable. He talked about their Toucan bird and her history. I came here with friends and we all had a wonderful day. I cant wait to come back again and enjoy the day here. Big animal lover! Thank you so much for all you do to keep this place going and housing these special animals. Michael
This is a must see and emerge experience!! The interaction with the animals is my favorite thing. Just donate help a life long legacy.and more. GO GO SEE
Must visit, fun and peaceful..Bring the whole family. Young to elderly will enjoy the critters,,,,exotic birds, swans, baby chicks running free chasing their mommas, a huge desert tortoise & much more.....Ask staff where to find Charlie, a white cockatoo. Near his habitat, its hard to know which one is Charlie. Just call out, Hello, Charlie (Wait a few seconds) ..Hello, Charlie.. He will be watching you and say, Hello, Charlie......If you bring some carrots, ask which animals you can feed Oh, theres a free petting area with goats..... Kids LOVE this place. Bring a picnic lunch, plenty of water, sun screen, hat......HOLIDAYS: Usually free admission for family activities.......Take lots of photos..Enjoy
This was a great place for a family day out!
Gilcrease nature sanctuary is a quaint place to visit. Although I have visited there before we were there for a different reason. My daughter had to do community service for her scholarship shes working towards. Bonnie the owner, was generous enough to allow teenagers to do so. The staff was very nice, patient, and helpful (especially Jazmine). And because of this, we will forever be a patron.
Typically stop here when I go to Floyd Lamb. Always had great experiences with the animals, facility and staff. The place is great to bring the family.
Great place to take the kids. Dont miss the parrot buildings. They have a lot to say.
Looking for a great place to spend the afternoon with the family? This is it. So much fun and educational at the same. Your also supporting a great cause as they run on donations.
Love bringing my little one here to visit the animals and enjoy the weather. No fee to get in but they do ask for donations, I always donate atleast $5 a person depending on the number of people. They great care of the animals and the land.
Super fun for the kids. Learn about animals, in a fun and safe atmosphere. The whole family will love it!
Ok .. this isnt in Nashville. Im visiting my son in Vegas. This is a neat little place. Its free but ask for donations.
Loved it! Will definitely be back soon to visit
This place is Awesome. These animals are so precious. Had the best time.
Lots of parrots, cockatiels, & other smaller tropical birds. Other birds include dove, fancy pigeons, peacocks. Also have goats, llamas & other mammals. Water fowl abound in a large pond. During the warmer months, most of the birds are in outdoor aviaries. Lots of trees & large water plants plus benches & picnic tables make the sanctuary a nice place wander around, and enjoy relaxing in the shade of the trees. There is, also, a simple, but nice amphitheater used for demonstrations & other activities. This is a really nice place to have in the city especially since Las Vegas doesnt have a zoo. The staff at the Sanctuary can most always be observed feeding and attending to the creatures, and we have found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful whenever we want to know something about the critters and caring for them. The facility relies on donations to keep going, so consider leaving a donation for their good work and your enjoyment.
Very neat place, my kids really enjoyed coming here to come see the animals. Its wonderful what this place has done for these animals.
Great experience for my baby girl ️
My husband and I delighted in talking with the birds, watching the ducks bob in water and hearing a big pig snore in deep sleep. We will definitely be back!

It was great talking to and petting the tropical birds, it is important to let them lean in let you know that they are ready to be pet, dont just stick your finger in. They need your gentle attention.

Wonderful place..Animals are awesome. staff is amazing!
Nice hidden gem. Donation for entry goes to help animals.
My daughter had a blast walking the property and seeing all the animals. Well worth the drive and time.
Ive lived the the Centennial Hills area for over 10 years and didnt even know this place existed! I love it! The animals are so cute and well kept! Great for kids!
This is my second time here and I always enjoy visiting. The animals all have so much personality!
Love this place always take my son and have gone since I was a kid
Had a blast!Plenty of exotic birds you will not get to see very often. We talked with several birds that could say Hello! I love you! How are you? Goodbye! It is sad to see that some of the birds are stressed. I hope more people come donate momey to help them better take care of the rescued animals.Check out their other animals too. Keep your hands away from the cages though!
Friendly staff with a large variety of birds & animals that you can interact with! Very enjoyable visit.
What a GREAT PLACE! The Gilcrease brothers brought so much good to Las Vegas and this is their best contribution. The animals are amazing. I could spend hours in the aviary. The birds are incredible. These are the friendliest and smartest birds I have ever seen. The grounds are well cared for and there are plenty of grassy places to sit and picnic or enjoy nature.
I love this Place because my two and a half year old daughter just has A-blast every time we go There
Nice bird sanctuary. They accept donations that goes towards saving birds of all types
Awesome family friendly farm! Great place to visit with little ones so they can learn about farm animals! Its free to get in but they do accept donations which go to the animals, rescues and to help facility.
I enjoyed all the children seeing the happy and looking cute I their costumes.
Cute place, lots of room for kids to run around. A little rough around the edges as far as walking paths and upkeep but overall a great place to visit. The birds were a highlight for my kids because they said “hello” back to them. The one downside is that there are signs everywhere that tell you that the animals will bite and the fences between the kids and the animals had lots of room for little hands. So it was a little stressful since I was there with my four kids without dads help. Just make sure you are watching your little ones closely and it is great. It was also very hot so the animals were a little shy and sleepy but that is no fault of the place. Guy at the front gate thanked us for coming and thanked us for our donation.
Took my daughter and girlfriend for a few hours. The both liked petting the goats and watching the baby ducks. It is a nice little place and would recommend to anyone that wants to get out of the house for a little bit.
This is an amazing place. I really like how they are helping to rescue so many beautiful birds.
Great place for the whole family we loved it there
Place is literally 2 minutes from my house. Its one of the best kept secrets of Las Vegas. A free nature Sanctuary you can go visit and walk around see all the animals, ducks, llamas, and exotic birds. Place is great especially for kids.
Beautiful place. Amazing birds
Beautiful place for these well kept animals, kids and adults enjoyed it very much
Spent a really nice morning/afternoon here.Lots of beautiful animals to see and appreciate and some running around as well.Very beautiful community animal sanctuary. This is a free experience for you and your family but I do highly encourage to at least try to make some form of a donation whenever you come here because the animals and owner are so wonderful. You can also donate fruits and vegetables for the animals to feed on and donations in the form of cash are also accepted or there are also volunteering options available.Very kid friendly!Very nice place I highlt recommend you or your family make the trip here.
Great people with kind attitudes. The bird exhibit is very nice. The grounds are clean and just the right size to let the kids run around and still keep an eye on them. Contributions only to get in and you can bring your picnic lunch. Great field trip destination. Fun, casual time.
This place is awesome! Great place to take the kids..
It lovely place. Simple but you can see the animal close by
This place does an incredible job of taking care of animals and birds that no one wants. Especially when donations and volunteers are how its accomplished. Please donate, or visit and donate, or volunteer.
Had so much fun with my 2 year old! Very friendly people. Will definitely be back
Nice place for toddler and its free.
Great place to take your lil ones to see some animals. Entry is donation and money well spent. The Cockatoos were my sons favorite, especially the one that says Hello!
This is a good place for kids and adults that enjoy animals. Ive got some good shots of the ostrich and other animals.
Love the animals that interact with you. Love the scenery as well. second time or fourth time here. inexpensive a great experience for kids. Adults get more out of the place then the kids.
It was a nice afternoon looking at all the sanctuary animals. They have an amazing toucan and everything is ready by donations. Its a great inexpensive place to visit. If you live in the area with kids, its worth checking out.
Omg, this place is the best!! Always makes me smile when I visit the animals! Bonnie and her staff are awesome at caring for the animals!
Very beautiful here. Animals are well cared for. Always a good day when spent here.
Great place for birthday party for kids
We Went for trick or treating and had a blast!
I understand its somewhat volunteer based, but I feel a few changes would help. No charge, but they ask for donation, which we did. There are not as many habitats as I had hoped for. Which is understandable. Not really any guides, like signs, to tell you where you can and cant go. You just wonder around. We had to ask what was in one of the buildings and if we didnt we would have missed it and thought it was a storage facility. No one else was going in there either. I noticed that there is a lot of construction everywhere so I guess improvements are slowly being made. Spent about an hour there. Maybe go back once construction is done because it was enjoyable to see some animals and take pics.
They are doing wonderful work here with the animals
Visited with a few friends on a day they were closed. However, the director made an exception. (Very thankful for this)! Lots of birds. And a couple very unique ones. Theyre doing great work here. Keep it up and thanks for lending out a helping hand to those that cant ask for it!
Animal in there love the attention and the place is beautiful me and my kids spent hours there
Great place and no fee donations
Fun, family-friendly environment. We spent about an hour-and-a-half touring the grounds. Well worth the visit! Dont forget to donate, too!!
Small donation. Great people. Well worth the drive. The kids will love it!
Cutest little rescue so close to home! Im so happy that theyre helping these animals. No admission fee, but they ask for a donation, which Im happy to give. They have birds and various farm animals. They also have a petting zoo. I will be going back!
Nice humble experience for all. Please donate thats all they operate off of.
The animals are beautiful. The staff is very nice. Had a great time.
Took my grandaughter, very nice, gave a donation.will go back again.
I was told by some locals that this place is awesome. They were right. The staff is really nice and the animals are great. If youre looking for a typical zoo experience, this is probably not the place for you, though. The animals are less exotic than you might find at a zoo, but this place lets you get close to all of the animals. If I go the Las Vegas again, Ill definitely come again.
