The bowling was fun, along with doing escapology. Although the service from the bartender at that time was okay. Dont expect them to pour a full glass when thats what you pay for. The server that we had in our lane didnt come back until 1 hour after he last served us our loaded fries (which were so bland and God awful), he then quickly gives us our bill saying if we could please pay. I had planned on ordering more food and drinks, but he didnt want the sales or the tip that would have normally came with it. I usually tip about 30-50% and normally on a bill that was $9 under circumstances that the server was friendly and attentive, I would have tipped him $9 and gave him a 100% tip. But instead left him $0.50 because thats how terrible the service was. I hope to give a better review on the service next time. The escapology people I give 5/5 stars and wish I could have tipped them. They were absolutely amazing! Will always come back for bowling and for escape rooms. Just not for the food or the service that comes with it.

Spare Time is a really fun place to visit. Undoubtedly the best bowling venue in Lansing. They also have an arcade, escape room, and bar. We had the buffalo chicken pizza, which was very good. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. Also, the arcade games are in good condition, practically new. Finally, they have something that Ive never seen: when you are logging in the names of who is bowling you can select which players will use gutter guards. The gutter guards come out automatically for those players and then retract when the player is done. Great solution for groups with kids. I think I may have my birthday party here this year! Fun times. Highly recommend.

Ive done all but one of the escape rooms. And theyve all been really fun and challenging. Two oftof were before the pandemic started. We did one this week, and I will say I felt very safe with all of the precautions and sanitizing theyre doing to keep everyone healthy. Definitely want to try and do that last one soon!

Bowling is open, the escape rooms are available, arcade games are all plugged in but the laser tag is still closed due to covid. This is a nice family establishment and ladies bowl free on Tues!

We have been to Spare Time several times and got a great time each visit. We also spent New Years Eve there this year and we had a blast. They have just added the Escapology rooms. We didnt have time to do that but it is on the list for our next visit. The arcade has nice options for all ages. We enjoyed our bowling games which were very affordable and loved having a server come to the table. We also enjoyed the trivia. It is just good family fun!

We went here a year ago as a family and it was great! They used to have an early bird special, cheap shoes cheap games. We went here over the weekend and there prices have SKYROCKETED!!! They only rent lanes by the hour,$25/hour, 4 pairs of shoes cost another $15! Because our boys are young bowling doesnt happen at a quick pace. We were only able to finish a game and a half for $40! To top it off we got a single pitcher (maybe 3/4 full w/ ice) which cost $6.14!!!!! Almost $50 for a game and a half of bowling... last time for us!

Not a family friendly place. They nickel and dime you to death and service is poor. Charging by the hour is one thing but starting the clock as soon as you pay is another. The clock runs while youre getting shoes, finding a ball and entering in bowlers names (if youre there with kids, these things take time). Then when there are issues with the lane the clock does not stop. They assign lanes at total random so its virtually impossible to get two lanes next to each other. On to the service. We were about 3 frames in and didnt see a server so I went to the bar to order fries and a beer, I was told since I was on a lane I should wait for my server. I explained I hadnt seen on and they reluctantly took my order. We found our server later tried to order pizza and he signed in disbelief and said it would be a while then walked away. Went back to the bar to order pizza and again was told it should be ordered with the server. Had to explain again that the server was not available and they ended up taking my order at the bar. We also ordered pops for the kids and both times got different prices, also they do not do free refills for softdrinks. Refill price is $1.25. As I said this place needs work. Bowling should be a family friendly event and doing it here is not.

I suggest not wasting your time with this place. They make it sound so fun and family friendly for events, but it’s incredibly overpriced. Also, the staff isn’t the friendliest (especially the event planners). I’ve been calling for the last few weeks trying to figure out which family package was the best for my daughters 1st birthday, we just wanted to have it somewhere fun and close to our families. It’s a 50$ charge to bring your own cake as well. The event planner never calls back, and I have been calling every day to be sent to their voicemail when trying to pay for the event. The event planner is very vague telling you the details of each package and acts like they expect you to know everything already and just hand out your money to them right away or you’re a waste of time to them. So, we’ve taken our business elsewhere to Royal Scot and I reserved my daughters birthday there in a matter of seconds, we’re getting more for less there and I didn’t have to stress about calling them every day to do so. :)

Had a great time there. A great and a wide collection of arcade games along with the bowling alleys. They now have a air hockey table for 4 people (earlier it was for just 2). A lot of new multiplayer games have also been added which is really fun if you all want to play in groups. Going there on the weekdays is cheaper than on the weekends

Spare Time was phenomenal!! Customer service was excellent and understanding. Definitely a great environment for the family!! It was very busy and the workers were fast and efficient. I cant wait to go back!!

Nice bowling alley and arcade games! Ladies night on Tuesday. Came here and spent 14 bucks on shoes and you can bowl all night for free! They have a good selection of draft beer here too. The food was just okay. Ladies night is half off appetizers.

The Q106 league is the most fun I have had bowling in years. Marc and Shy are always very helpful and attentive. I really hope there will be a Q106 league in the Fall featuring live music in some capacity.

The Capital Room is worth the extra price, with its luxurious accommodations and professional waitstaff. It made for a lovely evening out with friends.

This is a great bowling alley and more for the family. The facility is very clean, the lanes and balls well kept, and the technology very up-to-date. Its great to see so many families with young kids enjoy the lanes too. They offer light balls, ball ramps, and bumpers, if need be. They offer a great program in the summer where the kids-bowl free: be sure to sign up! Bowling can be a bit pricey but I imagine the cost of overhead to keep up such a nice facility is high.In addition to bowling, Spare Time offers a full arcade (a hit with adults and kids) bumper cars, sand volleyball courts and a restaurant. I have never ordered from the restaurant but the servers are lovely people. They come to the lanes to see if bowlers would like anything!The owner/manager of Spare Time lacks some customer service friendliness but he does his job well of managing lanes and any problems that might occur within the facility.

Great place to bring the kids on Wed nights when many games are half price. Laser tag is always a hit and now they have a new virtual reality multiplayer game. The rechargeable cards are very handy and its easy to check your balance and ticket count.

Havent been there in years, nice lanes and great service, it surely has evolved and has a magnificent arcade room with some really nice games and even a bumper car room and outsider volleyball court even an escape room. Class A place

Had so much fun with my friends for my birthday! We did the Budapest and Under Pressure. Really great details in the rooms and Connie our Game Master was great with clues when we asked for them. Gave just enough for us to get it, but not make it easy. Would definitely recommend.

We went there with a cake for them to tell us we weren’t allowed to have it, they wanted us to pay 50 dollars to have it along with 4 dollars per pair of shoes. I get why they are doing it, but they should put it website for everyone to see. It did still look like a fun place.

Dont buy onion rings. $5 for five onion rings. Service in bar is slow.. other than that great place to have fun.

This place definitely needs to work on their customer service. The busboy RUSHED us to move from our table while we were in the process of leaving. What started out as a great time, ended in frustration and our group feeling like we wasted our money at a place that did not appreciate our business.

I went here with one of my best friends and his girlfriend at the time. We had a blast, it was a great experience and was nice to spend time with them. Since then they have gotten married, and I will always remember us having fun here. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Honestly this is a great bowling alley. Im not much of a bowler, but its cheap, the food is surprisingly great, and the drinks are surprisingly inexpensive! Great way to spend an hour or two

Bowling was a blast. The balls werent broken down like some bowling alleys. The servers were great.We ran out of time 8 frames into our last game, they staff gave us an extra 5 minutes to complete it.

Bowling, arcade, and a bar/restaurant with food thats a cut above normal bar offerings. The calamari is unexpectedly good! Theres also an escape room, which Ive not tried yet. In the summer they have beach volleyball leagues.

Went to a 4 year old birthday party, not a good value for the money spent. The bowling was nice, received two lanes, pop was flat with no refills on the pitchers for the bday group. Pizza was good, but at the end of the party we were told we had to clean up to avoid any extra charges to her card. One would think after paying the establishment 300 dollars, they could provide clean up at no additional cost. Royal Scott is so much better, an older bowling alley but offers a better value and have never once been asked to clean up there.

It was half off night and a had a blast! The arcade got an upgrade singer the last time I was there! The two player games made it fun for my daughter and me! And of course, the bowling was a great time! Great food and friendly staff. AND the shoes did NOT smell odoriferous! Trust me...thats huge!

So much to do! The arcade is pretty big for a bowling alley. My 3 year old son loves coming here. The food is also very good as well.

It was an excellent experience. Me and my family enjoyed our time a lot there . People are very respectful. I still remember the moment when my daughter was holding the steering wheel of a car video game and she was pretending that she was playing. Then, one person, probably the manger, came and paid for that game to let my little daughter play, he then left quickly .That actually was amazing and I could not express how much thankful I was because of that huge amount of kindness and feelings to others he showed. It is rare to find such sense these days. We enjoyed the bowling the most. I dont hesitate to go back again. There are a lot of games for all ages.I am sure that you will have a lot of fun when you go there with your family.I very much recommend it.

We went to the arcade part for my daughters 30th birthday. We had the best time ever!!

I went there tonight, about 7:15 on a Sunday, just to have a drink, get some food and play Keno. I ordered a bottled beer, set my Keno bet slip on the bar with a $20, and was completely ignored until i asked for my tab. Everyone else was getting served, but I apparently didnt exist. My Keno slip was never taken, I was never offered a menu, no further communication from any of the staff. I guess if youre not a regular, you are better off going elsewhere. The staff at the bar continuously walked right past me. Im not sure if the management knows what is going on, but I didnt want to spend any more of my Spare Time waiting to speak with one.

Loved their escape room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Clean facility, and we ordered food for our group. They were ok. Nothing outstanding at the same time not disappointing either.Kids enjoyed their arcade and bowling arena as well.Will visit again....

It was a lot of fun -- we went bowling as a group for an hour. After our time ended, the guy gave us 10 extra minutes to finish our rounds. Thats customer service.

Spare Time has a ton of activities for kids. The bowling is always a great time and my kiddos love the arcade games. On the weekends Ive noticed that I can actually get a lane here on a Friday or Saturday night when its impossible at other bowling alleys. It seems like theyve really made this place pretty nice over the past few years with a lot of activities.

A great place to bowl, play games or even try an escape room. Whatever you choose to do, the staff is friendly and courteous. 10/10 experience always.

We went for the Budapest Express escape room. We ended up waiting 20 minutes from the time we initially booked it for to get in. We loved the theme and the setup was orderly (in comparison to other escape rooms that get overly cluttered with props) but the rooms puzzles were fairly straightforward and easily solved. It is a fantastic room for a first timer but my group came out feeling like it wasnt worth what we paid.

So fun! The best part is the laser room, where you have to try to avoid the lasers like they do in spy movies. Literally so much fun!

Sent an e mail to try to book an event. No response. Then called to try to book. Was transferred to the event coordinator. This went to voicemail. Left a detailed message. Never got a call back or any response. Finally got someone to talk to me today and was told the space I was looking for was already reserved. This is why I tried to reach out weeks ago. Awful responsiveness from event coordinator.

Beer list is good! Food is not great, but it is a bowling alley. This place is hopping, but it can be difficult to get a lane unless you arrive early. I also think they close way too early - more cosmic bowling would be nice. They have sand courts out front that I havent tried out yet, and an arcade/escape room.

My kids had a blast and loved the bumper cars. The prices were reasonable and the foot was good. Tables and game area were clean the service was great.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Plenty of bowling balls to choose from and the rental shoes are in great shape. Never had an issue with the lane, great place, would recommend.

NEVER AGAIN! Wrong food, ordered Chicken wings got chicken tenders. Ordered a burger & a pretzel, never got the burger. Planned to play in the arcade, I was ao upset about the food, after asking to speak to the manager 3 times. He juat walked away or walked past us. Yes the waitress apologized but did NOTHING to fix the situation. Spent $43 to leave and go to Burger King. Was my boyfriends birthday. Thank you Spare time! I work 3 jobs he works 12 hr days and you screwed up one of the VERY few opportunities we had for a good time!! We will NOT return. Food we did get was over cooked!!!

Foodie Alert!!! This isnt just any bowling alley, laser tag, arcade, escape room ...the foods truly a hidden gem. Really is. Was a real treat for me.Cuban Sandwich here is a tribute to Floridas oldest restaurant with very carefully curated ingredients and love in execution going so far as to have even the correct bread come from a bakery in Tampa. Jyes, they go that far. Was a sight for sore eyes, this sammy, for this Florida boy.Saw they do other things too, like filet sliders; who does that? I want some!!!Awesome.

The arcade is way too expensive. Half of the prizes are not labeled, so trying to use your tickets is a huge pain. The staff did not seem very eager to help. The beer list in the bar was pretty great, though. I would definitely go back to go bowling.

The last time I was at spare time was are about 15 years ago. It is cents and proved a greatly and seems like a cool spot to hang out at.

Place is nice and clean. Bowling alleys are well kept and all the electronic system are new and working (including automatic bumpers). Perfect for kids.. my daughter had a blast. Good availability of light balls too. The service... well.. it took forever to get our pizza. We order right after we arrived.. By the time we got our pizza we were done bowling.. kind of disappointing.
