I love the rose garden! It is so beautiful....and it was extremely peaceful today. Great place to take a walk too. Been coming here for over 30 yrs.

Fantastic place to take family pictures at. There are a ton of good photo opportunities there. Will be back in the spring to take spring photos. Also would be a great place for weddings.

We visited this place as a recommendation for Senior pictures for our son. I have to say, THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! Its absolutely beautiful and very well kept. There are many different backdrops that you can use for pictures of any occasion. While we were there, there was a couple getting engagement pictures taken and also Homecoming pictures for a group of students. I highly recommend this park!!

There was a lady feeding the ducks and geese, which drew them near us by the shore. Wonderful park.

This park has many beautiful features. Very well maintained.

Paved walking trail, beautiful gardens, huge expanse of open lawn, large enclosed events building, clean restrooms, large playground. Rose gardens would be a great spot for a wedding, or just take a leisurely walk. These are only a few of the the highlights of this Lansing gem.

This park is beautiful. They have a rose garden and a balcony that overlooks the Grand River. Grills, playground, soccer field...its just really nice. Full of families during the summer. Great place for wedding and graduation pictures. A truly hidden gem in Lansing.

Still a nice park, somewhat romantic, but it was way better when it was Frances Park Rose garden, and there were roses everywhere and when they were in bloom the beauty of the colours and scent of the blooms could almost transport you to paradise.

My wife and I were planning a Tranquil afternoon after seeing how beautiful the park photos were, well our views were abruptly changed after the maintenance worker who was riding along in his golf cart racially profiled me for me being Hispanic and accused my wife and I of stealing his radio. This is ridiculous especially in a day in age where we are much more culturally diverse.

Cant beat that scenic overlook of the Grand River and the Rose Garden (which lead to many photos shoots being taken here), this park is well kept and has many unique design features from its century of history.

I grew up in the Frances Park area and have spent endless hours there. It started going downhill several years ago but has bounced back nicely. I love the walking path. The overview of the river is nice and the rose garden is always spectacular. Take your kids. Take your dog. Its a great part of Lansing

Its my place of calm. Its just so beautiful and I can just walk around and relax, enjoy the beauty and the serenity.

There is a lot of room here to play verious sports including a basketball court. There is a amazing garden area with walkways, trails, gazebos and it looks over the river. They also have buildings you can use for parties or reunions that are attached to the indoor restrooms. There is also a playground for your kids to enjoy.

Another of Lansing, Michigans municipal parks. Nice paved trail, small play equipment area, pavilion, picnic tables and grills available. Frances Park also has a great rose garden.

The grounds keepers at Rose Garden alone are priceless! Its peaceful, beautiful & played a huge part in both my childhood and my childrens. Love love love this park!

Such a beautiful park. In the summer be sure to visit as the flowers will be in bloom. There is a beautiful spot overlooking the Grand River, a great photo OP! There is a really nice playground for the kids and a banquet type room that can be rented out for parties. There is also a great big open area. Perfect for a game of soccer, letting the kids just run free or to fly a kite on a windy day.There is also walking access to the grand river where you can find many wildlife friends. Be sure to bring some bird seed, or grapes, etc to offer them (not bread)

Beautiful Park and place to take fabulous pictures. There are a few play areas for the kids as well as a baseball diamond for adults to play baseball or other games. Big open field. Also there is a Rose Garden and a gazebo and a place to perform weddings. Cant say enough about this park you have to actually go there and experience that yourself. There is a pavilion that can be rented to host your reunions or even an outside wedding. The flowers are outstanding and the care of this Garden is definitely one of the best in the city.

A very nice summer time place to catch pokemon. My kids love playing on the playground. It has s very nice running trail. The park is closed 4 month a year during the winter, this is the only down side.

Absolutely beautiful park. There are more than one area you can go to for Various entertainment & fun. During the summer the landscaping & flowers are amazing. There are trails you walk, places for the children to play, & an open field to play football, kickball, set up a bat mitten net & play...etc.All around very nice park.

Paved drive & parking. A hall for rent. Paved walking trail. Playground for children. A lookout over the grand river. A rose garden & a flower garden. Hoops to play basketball.

To rent the pavilion thing (sorry forgot what it’s called right now ) but I’m talking about the brick building was $80 with a $50 deposit. Just know that it pays for half of it so your sharing the space with another party.... not a huge deal but it wasn’t told to us at the beginning. It wasn’t told to the other party that shared it with us either so they were very crabby and upset about that. We also weren’t able to look at the space ahead of time (even though we booked it a month in advance) so that we can plan our decorations accordingly. Even though we had the receipt saying we did book it they wouldn’t let us get in to take a look. I’m wondering what would be the harm in looking at an open space anyway? And good luck getting a call back from the woman that was happy to take the money from us. We left several messages and she never got back with us. I hope she gives me my deposit back! So we had to work blind and it came down to us not getting to use most of our decorations.....Money wasted. You also are paying for two very very very involved park rangers to be included in your party as well so be prepared for that. I felt uncomfortable and my guess did as well. The park is great and the kids had fun... so moral of the story is... SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DONT RENT PAVILION THING. Just have it outside where the picnic tables are.

I havent been to this park for 25 years. This is just as beautiful then as it is now. Hidden and tucked away is a haven of beauty over looking the Grand River. Prize winning roses and other plants. Just breathe taking.

How many stories can this park tell? Weddings, trysts, new lovers just starting, the heartbroken crying out. Walk the paths, stand at the overlook and tell me you cant feel it.The best thing about this park is to be among the history it holds. It really happened.

Frances is a nice park. Kids love it, dogs love it. It gets busy with picnics sometimes. Playground equipment is in nice shape. There is a playground for smaller kids too. A small path takes you down to the river where theres usually ducks and fishing. Flower gardens are very pretty and well maintained. Only negatives I would say is they need to fix the drinking fountains by the playground because theyre gross and plugged up. I wish they had more than 4 swings.

A really pretty place. We were here on a Saturday, there was a birthday party with volleyball, a big playground, a graduation party in the Pavilion and a wedding in the garden! Plenty of room for everyone!!

Very quite and my puppies love it!! There are also Bathrooms there as well.

I visited France Park to scuba dive with a few buddies. It’s a shallow quarry (25ft) but still made for great dives. We explored boats, a bus, a truck, and other sunken treasures including the famous hippo which you need to find and ride. We encountered plenty of aquatic life like a little turtle, blue gill, bass and of course some very large paddle fish. Vis was great for us and the weather was perfect for a late October day.The folks running the place, the Indy dive center, were very friendly and quick to make you feel like family. They even had some history to tell about the quarry and the area. Their location has convenient dive benches similar to dive lockers I’ve seen to set up and put on your gear. Bathrooms are the best I’ve experienced at a scuba quarry and the diving area has 3 changing rooms. The family feel extended not only from the Indy dive club but from all divers here since the benches are all next to each other you’re not excluding your group from the others like at other quarries. We also were all sharing food.

Francis Park is one of Lansing most Beautiful Getaways. A huge green space, perfect for Soccer, Football, Flying Kites, etc. is surrounded by a smooth paved running trail that winds through mature trees and past the Gardens and community shelter. The gardens and shelter are a perfect spot for a wedding & reception, family reunion etc.
