Macs bar is a cool spot in Lansing to go to for an event. I went to Yolk Fest which was held here this year and I loved it. Just a pink little bar with some nice house specials on drinks and a nice patio to sip your drink outside.

The atmosphere is friendly and pleasant, the drinks are tasty and pretty cheap and the service is fast.

The atmosphere is chill and funky, the service is prompt and the staff are really nice to customers.

This place was a really cool place we went to for great local talent and its everything you want. When you go see a cool show and you want it to just have the feel and atmosphere while your there.

Drive bar for sure but they arent ashamed of it at all. Saw some amazing stand ups this evening. Location offers an open patio & relaxing atmosphere. Saw some great talent, will definitely go back for comedy nights.

Wow! This is a small local bar thats been around for years and its still kicking. Live music for college kids. I went to Macs to watch my sons first concert.This bar is actually cleaner than when I use to hang out there 30 years ago. The dark grungy atmosphere is what gives this bar its reputation. The youngsters age 21 to 30 something loves it. The diverse live music is awesome.The bar borders on city line that merges the College town of East Lansing, go green. And the city of Lansing. This bridges the diverse groups of customers, young, fairly young and the young at heart. My evening at the bar was of a family event gathering to watch my oldest son in his first concert. This gave my wife and me the opportunity to reminisce and our kids to see that their parents are cool, Lol.

Rustic and laid back. Very comfortable if youre looking for conversation. Must go for cowboys, bikers and anyone thats not a snowflake.

Its a locals joint. Those who like it say it has a ton of character and dont mind the rough shape its in. Those who dont will say its a disgusting dump. Id compare it to Paddys Pub from Always Sunny. I tend to fall in the former category because I like the unique wall coverings and the relaxed atmosphere. They arent trying to sell you something; they just want you to have a good time. Great events like comedy on Mondays too. A nice slice of Lansing.

Nice clean place. Very cool lighting, this is a really good venue to see shows I had a super time at the remo drive show. Bunch of cool posters and stickers and writing on the doors and walls, definitely a place worth checking out!

Macs Monday Comedy Night is some of the best in professional and amateur comedy Lansing has to offer every Monday at 9pm. Its amazing to keep this type of comedy show going for 1 year, let alone 5 years and Macs Management has so much to do with that. Their support and openness have helped this venue to become a destination Im willing to travel to Detroit from for comedy. Its a dive bar, but a dive bar that loves its patrons and its performers.

Kind of a dive bar concert venue but it feels safe because it is so small. The acoustics are good and it is awesome opportunity to mingle with the bands.

Macs bar is gross.I went last night, service was slow and understaffed.Went to see a friend perform, before she went on a fight broke out and they closed the bar down. Totally understandable, but when I talked to the employees none of them would give me a refund for the show that never happened. Hire security and more than one bartender.

The music scene is really enjoyable and exactly what keeps people coming back. The bar itself... its kind of a grimy, dark box. Its typically a standing-room-only affair and the drinks are simple. I think the rating really depends on the crowd though, as Ive never had a bad experience with the place. I dont like the atmosphere there, but you might.

Great staff. TUESDAY WEEKLYS are so much fun. 3 dollar cover to hangout and drink too some fun music. Bar was reasonable priced too. I like that it was away from the main corner down the street. You dont get to many randoms walking in drunk.

We loved *everyone* working, from staff behind the bar (Charlie) to the sound engineer (Julian). From a touring band perspective, we were taken care of. Was not worried for the safety of my body, van, or instruments.

This is a popular bar, weve been here quite a few times to see our friends band Vandalay play, and they like playing here - good beer, live music, however could use some improvements on the building. It is also small and intimate which is nice too. They have alot of good shows here!

There have been a lot of improvements made since I lived in town, but its still Macs. That means its dark and loud, locals run wild and the new generation has their drama. That being said...The new management seems to care about service quality in a way that is almost opposite to the Macs of 2001. I hope you guys keep doing well, but please have some maintenance and leveling done to the pinball machines. Thanks for the cider!

Horrible. Everything is dirty. My husband ordered a drink and finally he got the guys attention and asked for it again. The guy was to busy on his cell and talking to the other guest. Didnt feel welcomed at all.

This place is for the adventurous..... We went in to have a quick drink and to check out the crowd. It is a little grimy.... but, we didnt mind.... The drinks were cheap and good pours and everyone was friendly! They occasionally have shows there with a cover charge.

Good times and great people! Music was AWESOME!!! Definitely going back.. Just be careful though. Your neck might hurt the next day due to heavy metal head banging lol

People are calling this place clean... we used to dress down because the floor was sticky with beer. This rating is based on the dive I remember.

Its very dive bar-like. It could be a lot cleaner (dust in the speaker caused a small fire recently). Bathrooms are interesting...Clean, but dim. The drinks are priced well. The stage is small but the sound and lights are good. Its a comfortable local place. It could just use a few updates.

Probably the best spot for house music in Lansing. The place is a dive. There not trying to be anything else. You wont find a Moscow Mule in this place. The crowd is local. Not really a student hangout. Maybe on some nights. If I go out in Lansing. Its usually Tuesday night at Macs.

Little hole in the wall bar that will always be my favorite in Lansing. I grew up going to this bar for all ages shows and didnt stop once I was legal. Always friendly service and great drink options.

Ive heard a lot of folks say its dirty and smelly here, but thats not my experience. Macs is a great little dive bar with awesome bartenders and great music.

Sorry to see that this place has lost its mojo from the 70s & 80s. A live music bar? No way! When I was getting my degree @ MSU and when I was a young alum this place got fueled by a great and loud jukebox. The music infused the patrons with copious amounts of energy and led to a wild and crazy atmosphere . This was magnified on post football game Saturdays. We would spend hours in there drinking cheap draft beer by the pitcher, and having more fun than should be allowed. This of course led to several chance encounters with, in my case, the lovely ladies. What more can you ask from a bar?? Sadly I heard they got busted one too many times for serving to minors which caused them to close and re-open as just another bar. No doubt the brief period between 1972 and 1978, when the drinking age was 18 led to the bar relying too heavily on minors for a substantial part of their revenue. Looks like it will never be the same. I only gave it the third star because of its past greatness. RIP The Macs Bar of my youth.

Feed peoples alcohol problems for awhile now. I think bars are equivalent to a crackhouse no difference really.

This is a dirty dive bar with a stage. Beer is fairly cheap and if you know what youre getting into youll have a great time. Good bands often pass through here.

It should be a historical landmark. So much history has happened here. Its a home away from home for so many concert goers for so long.

Good dive bar for live music. Not a ton of appeal when there isnt good music going on, in my opinion. But its a fun and rough Lansing classic.

Small, but if you want to hear live music this is one of the few places left. They bring in acts from all over the United States. Sometimes pretty eclectic.

Absolutely love this place! Though not extensive, the drinks available are awesome (I drink dark lagers/porters/ales/etc and good beer is hard to find) and the environment cant be beat... best dive bar Ive been to!!

I used to love this place but sadly the sound quality on live shows is poor now and the new bartenders arent the greatest never paying attention and always on their phones.

Its a little rough around the edges, but everyone who lives in Lansing knows whats up. Love the staff, love the location but it could use some TLC. Sucks the bands dont have a real backstage, loading and unloading gear must be a huge pain.

The place is very small and not very clean to say the least. But a great place to see a live band.

Wow words cannot describe how awful this place is, the service at the bar is terrible. I got kicked out because i happened to be in the bathroom while some people were trying to get some extra buzz going in the bathroom. I was just going pee???? I cannot describe how unintelligent these bouncers are but wow. Complete ignorant guys to be honest, i wasted my money here for nothing because of the bouncers did not know how to handle this. This place needs to get their stuff together otherwise i see this failing.

It was a punk joint, not particularly nice, but good bands. Guiness on draft, so, I liked the place.

No where to.sit and takes awhile to get anything from the bar usually just one person working the bar. Even on very busy event nights.

Fight broke out and preformers didnt get paid and no refunds were given. The promoters gf started the fight. Will forever suggest this place to people I hate.

Most definitely a hole, but a good one. Best place to see good live music around Lansing. The dingy dirty facade at macs adds to the charm, bring a sharpie and leave your mark on the walls of this fun bar.

I know its a divey place but dang it sure smelled like feet. small things could be done to improve without losing the dark dive bar aesthetic.
