I had reached out to Lars and asked if he would make a presentation to our camera club, which he was more than happy to do.His presentation was excellent and not only I thought so, but I received many comments from others in my club to that same affect. He was poised, had great flow and an easy going presentation style about him.What really drew me to his presentation was one, his absolute love of the American West and his portrayal of it. Growing up in Northern Germany, he said that he has always been drawn to the American West landscape and ideology. Secondly, the way he captured it. He has a very intimate approach to his landscape photography and each image has a deep, personal meaning to him and his narrative with his photos conveys this. So, he goes beyond just sharing a beautiful photo, he draws you into a sense of place.I am glad to have gotten to know Lars even more since his presentation and I am proud to now call him a friend.Shawn Slade

This is my 3rd artwork from Lars Gesing. Wont you be my Neighbor. Lars captures more than just an image with his work. I chose this piece because I wanted a red image for my kitchen/dining area. I also wanted a focal point that is seen from other rooms. Though I chose it for a color this image is more than that. Wont you be my Neighbor invokes family gatherings during the fall where adults gather in the kitchen to smells of apple pie and roasted turkey. Children playing in a pile of wet leaves from the first frost cleaning up before winter. Friends chatting on the porch with mugs of steaming coffee and mulled spiced wine. When I look into Wont you be my Neighbor its not a tree on a fence peeking over to the neighbor its memories that come to life. The evoking of feeling and memories are why I chose Lars Gesing art work over others. Each work calls a memory or dream to come.

Lars is amazing. Not only is his photography incredible, but the writing that he does on his website that allows you to see into his mind and experience what he was thinking and feeling when he captured that image, is nothing short of awe-inspiring and inspirational.
