We are military museum consultants that trust Colorado Art Restorations above all others to handle the most delicate and valuable pieces from our clients.

My mother’s apartment building flooded and her insurance company’s adjuster was being extremely difficult. Mike worked directly with the insurance adjuster on my mother’s behalf eventually escalating to a supervisor to help get her claim approved so her art, antiques, and books could be treated. During an overwhelming situation, while my mother was living in a hotel and eventually moving to a different apartment, Mike’s help was so valuable! If their response time is long, it’s because he’s providing so much personal attention. He and his staff couldn’t have been more professional.

I thought I’d try a new framing store since I am a big supporter of the arts District on Colfax . I know it can take a week or two to get work done. No problem. Got it, know it.They told me it would take a month just to evaluate the work before they begin. I don’t know how framing stores stay in business but if I told the client I would give them a price after a 30 day evaluation, I would be living under a bridge. I recommend Framing stores Just say we are full, it will be a month before we can get to your project. Owner contacted me, that says a lot.

Had a very large antique painting and its frame restored. Work was perfect, -- never knew the painting had sea birds in it until the restoration!! The staff was excellent in giving me status reports. I will tell you that it took a very long time for the work to be completed, but when the painting arrived I was delighted with the work. The frame is now in perfect condition, and the painting is something everyday I look at and love. Just do not be in a hurry@

The only company I trust to clean, store and restore high end artwork and antique furniture. Mike is a true professional who is passionate and extremely knowledgeable with high end art. No other company even comes close to their service they provide.

I agree with others, the turnaround time is out of control. Had I know that it would be a month just to evaluate the piece, I would have gone elsewhere (and no they didnt tell me it could take up to a month until after I called to check on it.) They also don’t explain the treatments very well. Be prepared to ask questions, even if you aren’t an expert. I may update my review upon completion of service but right now this place is only so-so.

Beware, SIX month turnaround with these folks. Yes they keep it for 6 months but they do not tell you this when you initially phone. This was unacceptable to me so I hauled my 60x36 painting back to the car, found Lisa Capano Art Restoration and drove it straight there. Lisa had a one week turnaround and the painting is perfect. Lisas pricing is ridiculously fair and she is a pleasure to work with. I found Colorado Restoration a bit arrogant and the owner Mike kept saying you can not rush quality yet my painting is completely restored and back hanging on my wall a week later. I get the sense it is their way or the highway. I took the highway to Lisa and delighted I did.In response to your comment Mike: I did phone you at the time and you were incredibly rude and arrogant. I tried sharing with you my experience before writing a negative review. Your attitude on the phone and your staff at the shop is exactly why I choose to write this. The Mike who wrote the response below was nowhere to be found on the phone that day.Take Care

These folks do excellent work, but take forever to get it done. Had some art that got wet (burst pipe), and they reframed it and made it look fantastic. Now, I have another piece that had been in storage and they are looking at to see if it can be restored, or if it is a loss (insurance will cover if it it is)...when I dropped it off, they told me I would hear from them within a MONTH! Its been about 10 days...well see how it all shakes out this time. I may edit this review depending on the final results.
