Owner and staff are great guys. They are always helpful. This store always has a wide variety of all your needs and a constantly changing selection of fish. They also carry quite a few different tanks, sumps, and pumps for the serious hobbyist. Its nice to be able to see and purchase these things in person and be able to support your local small businesses in the process.

Over priced salt water products and fish. 54.99 for a cleaner shrimp? Why? An Ocellaris was struggling to survive... like the heartiest saltwater fish out there...what happened?? Their frozen fish food stock was very limited to non existing. Im sticking with seattle corals for all of my immediate saltwater needs, even if it is a 3 hour trip, bulkreefsupply.com is also a great online store for anything else. Sorry, Aquarium Paradise, but your saltwater side is sad.

Small but they have lots of fish you dont usually see at the big chains plus they look healthier. Knowledgeable staff too.

Not somewhere Id recommend to my aquarium friends. I got a young fish that died a few days after I brought it home. They tested my water and it was good. decided to buy an adult one with the hopes itd do better which I was told it should. It died in the same amount of time, water is still within proper measurements, still was not offered a refund. At the same time I got some plants from them and in less than a week they turned to mush and caused a bacterial bloom in my tank.Too many fish and too small of tanks. Plants are rotten and fish are sick. overpriced. The fish and plants I get from Petco survive and thrive just fine.

Staff seems knowledgeable about the fish. The bad review is because of the health of their fish and the fact that they dont have a refund policy. Buy at your risk....pretty much.. I bought two fish from them and both died a few days later. The other fish in the tank (bought from petco) are doing just fine. Both fish bought from aquarium paradise exhibeted the same symptoms and died. Water test results were fine. Other fish (same species) bought from petco are thriving. No more buying fish from them unfortunately because i really liked going in there. Did not ask for refund because when i asked for their refund policy when i bought the fish, they didnt have one and simply stated they will do what they can if the fish dies within 1 day. I wasnt too convinced with that answer, unlike petco that has a guaranteed 14 day refund if your fish dies.consider my 20 dollars i paid for the fish a donation because you just lost a potential lifelong customer.

We bought 3 Angel fish, they were beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is my first visit, but my son in law visits often. The staff is very knowledgeable. The store is well stocked, clean. I hope my son in law takes me again!

As an experience fish owner it’s always nice to have a go to place that will have what I need. Everyone is helpful and nice but not pushy and I love that about this place. Prices are reasonable and their cichlids are impressive.

We have a reef tank and thats why we visit Aquarium Paradise. The people that work there are fantastic, super friendly, down to earth and easy to just chat with. We get our water jugs refilled here and the price is great.We have purchased several corals from here and they have all done very well. They take excellent care of their coral, so when we bring them home, they open within a few hours. I think that speaks to how happy/healthy the corals are before being traumatized by transports and a new environment.

Im giving them the benefit if the doubt at 3 stars as their remodeling and I hope they get it together soon but it has been in process for a while now... The lack of labeling and disorganization in their limited available stock, not terribly friendly service, and lack of compartmentalization of stock means you could be bringing home some unwelcome riders to your tank. Just be aware before you buy anything over $20 there.

I drove a hour to this location because they were the only local dealer that could get me the tank I wanted at a reasonable price. Not only did Dominic get it the very next day, but significantly cheaper than the other dealers close to me. While I was there I looked at all the stock and I have to say this is the best and healthiest looking fish store I have seen in a long time. The amount of tanks for freshwater they had and saltwater astounded me. It took me an hour just to look at everything. 99.9% of their stock was well and healthy and those that werent were in quarantine tanks unlike larger chain that just shut off the stock entirely. Freshwater and saltwater galore, if you need something they can get it, fish, equipment, tanks, plants. If I need anything I can assure you I will be driving that hour to get it because this place is absolutely stunning. And the staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The people in there are always nice. They have an excellent selection on hand for freshwater, really impressive saltwater selection. Everything thats stocked there are fish and supplies that are fun to keep. This is why you shop at local hobbiest shops over big brands.

This is by far the best fish aquarium store my family and I ever been to. That says a lot because we’ve been to approximately 50+ fish stores throughout our lifetime. Additionally, the staff was extremely helpful and they went above and beyond to help us out. Last, Dominic is the most knowledgeable fish aquarium subject matter expert we’ve ever met in our lives. He’s very friendly, shares all his knowledge, and provides top-notch customer service on top of all that.

I had received warm smiles and friendly service while prospecting for some saltwater fish and ended up buying one and returning to buy another due to the selection and friendly staff.

Its a cool place to walk around and look but I wouldnt use it as any more than a zoo, just look and leave. Only risk buying a fish here if you want to risk taking home a sick fish and throwing your money away. They dont do exchange or returns on dead fish even if it happens within 24 hours and your aquariums parameters are in the right meters. Almost anything they can get petco can special order for you for half the price, usually I try to support my LFS but this is one I suggest staying away from.

They are always available to answer questions, and with their experience of over 20+ years, has always steered us in the right direction on the choice of fish for our community. Beats the big box stores any day and is a local family owned establishment right here in Pierce County. Highly recommend getting your fish and aquarium supplies through them.

Fairly bare. Looking for seashells for my tanks. To say it was scarce, is putting it mildly. But, for fish -nice wide selection. Tanks all looked clean and the animals cared for properly. Id buy fish here. They do water testing as well. The overall scheme of the store felt like, he supplies to folks w/ much larger tanks then I currently own. Did have 75 & 55 gal., tanks. Yeah, like that. So 30, 35, etc... youd fare well here.

This fish store is hands down the best in the area. Nobody nearby matches their selection, health of their fish, or knowledge of the hobby. The staff are very friendly too! I go here for everything for my reef tanks now.

Several fish had ich. Several large fish crammed into tiny tanks. Inappropriate tank mates and fish with ripped up fins and deformed bodies. I would not buy your fish from this place. Made me sad seeing those animals like that.

I really like Aquarium Paradise. First, its locally owned so thats awesome. Second, the owner and his staff seem to be very knowledgeable. They are very helpful and friendly. Third, this place has an amazing selection of both fresh and salt water fish. Its nice and warm in the store and they will even let you pay (just $1) to feed some of the fish.Our family will definitely be coming back here for all of our aquarium needs. Its so much better than the huge chain pet stores.

Just got a new Red Devil cichlid from them and get most of my supplys there. Every one there is helpful with the fish and tank questions. They have salt and fresh water fish as well.

Freshwater Selection: This store carrys everything from the monster silver arowana to the simple barb. They have tons of different types of fish, so when you go in youre guaranteed to find something you like. They also have a small selection of plants, but the plants they do have are very healthy and decent priced.Saltwater: I personally do not keep saltwater fish myself but from my quick walkby they do have a small but very nice selection of saltwater fish and coral.Staff: The staff here are some of the best people i have ever met at a fish store. They were very informative and shared lots of their experiences with fish.Food/Filters/Tanks/Etc: They had a fairly large selection of aquariums ranging from small to very large, more options Ive seen from any shop in the area. They also have a large selection of food for a decent price. But they did lack a selection of filters, but they did have a few nice ones.Overall an amazing store. I will go back many times in the future!
