While trying to find the parking lot for Middlefork Savanna (GPS took me to Halas Hall), I found this little gem. Loved reading about this history of this farm and walking around the property. Great place to take kids before or after a nature walk. I would love to come back for the farmers market one day.

This is a unique gem that elevated our trip to Lake Forest from an errand to something special. The building and grounds are interesting and the wildlife displays are fascinating. I felt sorry for the sad-looking, one-eyed owl and neurotic lynx that was pacing frantically back and forth - those were the only two creatures outside the day we visited. The inside reptile displays were very cool and the young women volunteering that day were super friendly and informative. We would definitely pay this wonderful farm another visit if were in the vicinity!
