High Ground Park was a nice little get away from the hustle of the city. It was quiet and peaceful and I loved how it gave you the history behind the area as you walked along the path!

0/10 wouldn’t recommend. A charred body was smoldering by the lava river when I arrived. I think his power was underestimated, so he tried it. Another guy was there and after I saw him cutting the body up he said it was his brother, and he loved it. Pretty messed up stuff.

Its great theres even this dude who I think is the owner or something cause he just keeps yelling on the riverbanks I have the high ground to some dude floating by on a metal platform. Hes pretty good looking to.

Very hot; too many volcanoes, lava every where. Burned body on the river bank. 1/10 do not recommend.

Small, quiet little park with some Civil War history (was Fort Higley). Has a walking trail with well-maintained signage. Great for jogging!

A lot of lava and very hot even during winter and I came across a burnt body with no legs and one metal arm on the river bank

This hidden gem is definitely a place those interested in Civil War history should visit. The area is well maintained, and there are plenty of informative signs to highlight different areas along the trail. The main trail is paved, but there are unpaved trails for those whom prefer a more rustic adventure.I didnt see any picknic tables, but there are a few wooden chairs at the end of the trail.

Never been here, but this would be the park with the greatest chance of survival, so I recommend it completely. #RevengeoftheSith #HighGround #ObiWanKenobi

Great views from an earthen works fortress, plenty of cannons laying around lol Theres always someone hanging around here everytime I visit so Id say its pretty popular

Went for a very chilly walk with the dogs, and the park was so nice. Would be nice if there was a dog waste container, but we enjoyed the trails, learning the history, becoming familiar with this part of historic Knoxville. Views were good with leaves down.

Solitary and educational quick visit

Shorter trail- lovely and well kept. Tip- visit in the winter when the trees are bare for great views of the smokies. Very calming park and not very crowded. Historical placards describing this civil war fort and the dynamics around it are also a big plus.

Nice shady walk

I came here in the winter with my boyfriend to ride bikes. It was easily accessible and also a really good place to take winter photos.

This is a quiet park to take a walk and learn a little history while youre there. There is a hard pack surface trail and a dirt trail. The more formal trail leads to a patio with a few Adirondack chairs and cool views of the city during the winter months (leaves are gone to reveal the view). There are signs that describe historical features in the landscape from civil war days. Its not a long trail but it is very enjoyable.

Good place to learn more about Knoxvilles part in the civil war. The entire mountain youre standing on was built by soldiers

Its a very peaceful walk through the woods. The path is well maintained but longer than expected. Nice big chairs at the end to sit and relax and enjoy the views.
