There are no words to describe how magnificent and beautiful this place is. A must see on your list of parks and recreation.

Loved it, this place is absolutely amazing bunch of campsites as well as spots for RVs or campers, all the campsites have electricity if you reserved a place, there is a walkway all the way to the lake as well as a driveway for cars and a road for boats to be pulled to the dock
This place is cool they put old rocks that are many years old And show information about places that have been used long time ago
Beautiful park
Nature and lake, hiking, beach all in one place.
Great piece of history right in Kirksville, Missouri.....a must see for those who have not made the trip to Thousand Hills Lake to see the petroglyphs. Might as well see them when you are in town, right???
I Posted a Review of Thousand Hills State Park and shared it on Facebook Google .This Park is so beautiful. I have been to many State parks in Missouri and believe this one is the best........in Kirksville Missouri. You will fall in love with this place.
The petroglyphs are largely ruined by years of graffiti. That’s really a shame. It’s still a nice place to visit. There is a nice paved walking trail extending off the building with the petroglyphs that goes up to one of the campsites. There are benches at regular intervals on this path. There is also shelter house next to the petroglyph building with a beautiful lake view. The parking lot for all of this is adjacent to the beach. We will definitely visit again. I’d love to see it in the fall.
Cooked out. Lake is beautiful. Great place.
The petroglyphs are sheltered in a small building with a walkway that allows you to view the outcroppings from above. Its difficult to see much detail, but the signs along the walls do a good job of interpreting what is there. Its a shame that so many people have felt the need to get down there and add their marks to these hundreds of years old pieces of art.
It was interesting, to bad all the doors were locked and you couldnt really see anything. To much vandalism inside was what the note on the doors said.
Great park and very clean close to fishing.
Come see the glyphs
It was fun and good for kids
Great trails and facilities!
Locked.
Fun
