A great camp nestled in the Hualapai Mountains. Lots of shade and access to hiking trails. Vault toilets and hookups for water and electric if you need it. Super quiet.
My husband and I plus our 3 girls stayed in Teepee #1. It was bigger than expected, we were able to fit 2 queen size blow up mattresses inside with room to still walk around. The only downside was we werent able to have any access to the showers, even upon us asking to pay more. We would definitely stay in them again, if we were able to somehow have access to the showers. The girls had a lot of fun on the nature trail as well as the different play areas and just exploring around camp. Deer even came right up onto the deck of the Teepee ! It was an awesome experience, but please let us pay for the showers !
Great place to have dinner. Rooms are dated but well maintained. Dog friendly.
Went here to hike both Aspen and Hayden. Had a great time. $10 fee to enter but I believe if you are a veteran you also get a discount which is awesome. The hikes were beautiful! Not as well marked for Hayden, we ended up just taking the road up to it. All the signs said Hayden trail and we couldnt find it so we found a different way. Highly recommend for anyone missing green trees while in the desert :)
Great spot for camping! Nice trails to walk. A playground for kids. Restrooms not to far from camp site. Would recommend for light camping.
Beautiful views. We had picnic lunch at a view point among the tall pines and wonderful rock formations different scenery from the high desert in Kingman
Nice weather, beautiful area, loved all the pine trees, squirrels, butterflys. Miss all that from where I grew up. Big Bear Lake Ca. Cant wait til we can afford to camp, love camping.
We had a family wedding here and it was amazing!! We all rented cabins and they were all very nice.
I was amazed at how friendly the elk were. They treated us as if we were just another creature in the woods. My wife and I had a beautiful hike that felt like could have gone on much longer. We were too tired and turned back but were definitely going to be going back quite a few more times.
RV neighbors did not have their dogs on leashes when I took my dogs out for potty breaks their dogs would come over to my motorhome and try to attack my dogs ! Other than that it was good. Be nice if they had picnic tables at the sites !
A wonderful experience of serenity and peace. We were greeted by elk in the morning and owls at night. Spotless cabin and friendly, helpful park staff (especially Debbi and Martha). We made more reservations the day we got home. What a close by gem for us. The parks accommodations is great for our dog. Thank you staff and volunteers for maintaining a truly relaxing and safe piece of heaven. Krista and Joseph
Living in Kingman, the quick complaint is theres nothing to do around here. Very not true when you really look. We have hundreds of miles of hiking trails, cabins to rent, places to camp. The hualapai mnt park is a great place to start such adventures. The facilities are maintained well and the staff are friendly. You cant beat the views, nor the wildlife!
Last minute decision to drive up to the park and glad we did. Beautiful views and nice trails. Ranger Gino (?) was great. Took his time to personally show us the trail head and where to park. The cabins and RV park looked nice. Will try and visit again.
Bad overall experience with some of the staff, cabin was also filthy( floors/toilet/ shower). My biggest complaint is this, tried calling for two days to ask some questions about check in times, left a message and did not receive a call back. Listen to the current message they have and that sets the tone to the poor attitudes from some of the staff( specifically Rosemary). I went up an hour early with my family, figured I would try my luck since I could not get a hold of anybody or get a call back. My family and I literally had to sit there for 45 min before they would let us check in 30 min early. My son and sister in law walked down to the cabin, nobody was in it or servicing it. I went back to the station and was told I had to wait 9 more min,I asked if I could go unload my bbq and ice chest? I was told no, Dumfounded I walked off and waited. Went back and explained that if you guys would answer your phones or return a call I wouldn’t be here right now. Rosemary hassled me about the parking passes and threatened To send the ranger down to check if they were being used by my family that had not arrived yet( cabin sleeps 12, half the crew had not come up yet). Service bad, cabin filthy, felt unwelcome and disappointed. Park ranger was very fair and a nice guy, Marry was friendly and helpful, Rosemary was not so helpful and set the tone for a disappointing stay and a waste of time and money.
Was beautiful and awesome. Loved the scenery. Was an amazing trip. Just make sure you read all the signs. Without warning we were yelled at to leave an area that was reserved and we didnt see the sign behind the bushes. Other than that it was an awesome place to go
Cant ever think of any time Ive camped here and had any issues. Great place.
Love it here. Its beautiful. Lots of wild life. Nice and cool. Great place to be summer or winter
We went for the day to picnic. Very nice clean park...but we were invaded by small dark iridescent green flying hard shelled bugs. We drove to many different areas in the park to choose our spot and they were everywhere! Ended up staying less than an hour instead of the entire afternoon as planned.
They are always very friendly. The mountains are gorgeous. They have great hiking and disc golf
Absolutely a great experience, 2 nights at 1 of the cabins in the park. Quite, peaceful, wildlife, loved it.
Loved the cabin. Nice place to relax.
Great camp ground. The Temps are reasonable compared to the lower elevation. Temps at night were in the 70s many camp sites available due to covid. Sites are very spaced out 20$ a night
Such a delight in Kingman - did not expect this vegetation. Beautiful hikes and will maintained park, loved it :)
A great place to start a new adventure, have toilets and other amenities but you cant get food there. The cabins are modest and they have just the necessary.Outdoor is beautiful, real nature contact and no cellphone service so its awesome, no wifi or anything else. They close at 5pm.
This is a beautiful place to go hiking in the mountains. We saw a couple of elks along the path we were hiking. It was a great way to spend the day.
Beautiful place to bring the family... Kayla and the staff at the Lodge are incredible
Alot of great scenery but alot of it was closed and $10 entry fee for what u get is a little steep. Plus the park ranger is in full barney fife mode, way too aggressive on visitors. Check your staff.
Ive been camping here at the hualapai mountains campgrounds 20 years. I have not been in the cabins just tent camping . They have excellent sites my favorite is overlooking hualapai mountains where the locals live. One evening a deer came to my campsite to visit me a while. There are no campfires allowed but you can used your grill to burn charcoal and wood. There are restrooms and portable Petri cans, at various locations in the park. And there are picnic tables and barbecue grills at every campsite. There are lots of trails to go hiking and there is a childrens playground. I recommend this to anyone especially with children it is a safe park for everyone.
We got a great spot in the pine trees. Pioneer camp is the place
Huallapai Mountain Park RV park is AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL......honestly there arent words to say except, Do It!!!!
Great views, quiet and reasonable price.
I love the wild life experiences of deer and elk come up to my campsite. The wind blowing within the trees at night so peaceful. Nice hiking trails and awesome play areas
Beautiful place had my sons wedding there
This park is downright gorgeous. My group hiked through some trails and climbed some big boulders out there. We decided to stop by since we were passing and we were not disappointed! I really recommend at least driving through the park because the mountain air and scenery is just spectacular.
Beautiful area, amazing views, scenic vistas in every directions. Reasonably priced and well developed camp sites, unfortunately there are only a handful that offer good privacy. They have rv hookups and cabins for rent also. As well as some great hiking trails, from moderate to difficult. All in all a great place to get away and enjoy nature!
Beautiful day, great scenery. Great to get outdoors and let the kids run around for exercise in the fresh air.
A calm place with rentable grounds or cabins surrounded by trees littered with squirrels roaming about and if you go walking for a bit you are likely to see a deer.
Awesome. Bought our yearly pass. We will be going often. There are deer and elk, so much wild life.
Gorgeous area. Didnt stay here so cant comment on that...but wanted to say the area is in the cool pines, no matter how hot it us in Kingman, its cool up here! See wildlife up close, deer, elk herds. Hiking.
Very nice place, kids love it.
What a great place to camp or just have a picnic or hike or go biking. Love to go there
The wildlife is amazing they will walk right up to you in the middle of the day . We camp a lot, I personally have never had elk and mule deer just walk up on camp to see what going on . The cabins are very cozy and clean as well as the grounds. There are two play grounds ( one of smaller children and one for bigger ) side by side outside the rec center. The rec center has huge fireplaces nice Grill areas plenty of seating in shade a beautiful place to stay.
I did not spend too much up at this location today. The grounds are rustic, but that was expected but all was in working order. The staff, what in encountered, were very polite and welcoming. I hope to go back for a longer stay.
One of my favorite places to go when I only have a couple of days
Gorgeous little campground with cabins, tent sites, RV sites, and picnicking for large or small groups. We arrived after 2pm on a Saturday and were able to find a tent site easily that suited our needs. An Elk walked right through the campground about 50 feet away. Hiked Hayden peak the next morning and were rewarded with stunning vistas. A great escape from the desert below. We’ll be coming here regularly as we live in the Mohave Valley area and really love alpine settings. Can’t wait for winter up here!
Beautiful place... Blood moon..
I love this place!! Is so beautiful
Very nice campgroud. It was cold at night so be prepared for it.
Great place to hike and cool off. Aspen trail goes to the high point and trail head
Went to have a picnic with a friend and enjoyed the park and had a visitor a deer that we fed.Beautiful afternoon
Peaceful, quiet time in a wonderful park. Plenty of trails to hike, vistas to capture on film and animals to see - the swaying pines will tempt you back again!
Great views, nice campground hottest part of the year but very doable.
Had a blast still no open fire but camping was still fun with family . Must go again
Beautiful views! You can rent a shelter its a great place to have a gathering. Lots of space. There is a cabin like building with a kitchen. It has its own play equipment and restroms. And a parking lot there and another not far awy. You might even get a visit from one or more of the animal residents . We had a deer and some squirrels. There are also cabin rentals and camp sites.
Loved the atmosphere. Really nice place to go.
Great place to camp and hike.
Definitely a must do especially since its warming up. There is plenty of trails for all levels and they have cabins and spaces available.
My mom volunteers in the office since weve been camping there for the better part of 20 years (or more). The staff are great, the park is hands down a wonderful place to camp in either tent or cabin. The cabins are well kept and clean. Love love love Hualapai Mountain Park, its wildlife, and all its staff!!
Amazing view clean environment and bathrooms and welcoming ranger and staff
Nice place to go with friends and family it was clean and maintained and lots of wildlife around
Love going here and always wonder why I waited so long between trips. I forget how fresh and peaceful the the mountains are and really its like hitting the reset button for the soul! Stop and talk to the friendly gal at the ranger station for info. I cant remember her name but shes way cool and has volunteered for the park for many years and has all the useful tips. If u make time to go you wont regret it!
The day use entry fee is $10 for a single car. There are plenty of trails to hike. We took Potato Patch Loop. It was kind of washed out from a recent storm and there were a few fallen trees on the path. But the views are awesome and I definitely didnt expect to see snow on the mountain tops.
Nice place to escape the desert heat. Good hiking trails and scenic views.
Beautiful Park, very sad that someone had to spray paint such a beautiful rock and it was never cleaned up. Who ever Gem is should be ashamed
The Fall is beautiful in The Hualapai Mountain Park. The nights are getting cooler and it will be down in the low 20s here tonight. The cabins have heaters so its still a great time of year to rent one.
Nice and cool. Good to get away from the heat in Bullhead City and smell the pines.
One of our favorite places to go
One of the better campsites you will find. They also have yurts and cabins to rent.
It is a very pretty place for a picnic . Well maintained and clean bathrooms.
This place is amazing! Best UTV riding around! Check out trail 7207
Perfect for everyday, every occasion. We love the Hualapais and visit every chance we get. There are tons of hiking trails and beauty everywhere. There is parking on site and bathrooms throughout the park. 100% recommended visiting here.
Nice little getaway 11 miles off the freeway . Great for a hike . Fido loved playing in the snow.
Had tons of fun, the river is nice, Convenient store is stocked. Reserve motorized activities early.
Had lots of fun,, bring warm clothes, and chains even if you have a 4 wd, vehicle.
The cabins are great, rangers are very helpful when asked and deer and elk are common to see in the camp grounds!
Cool off and enjoy the view and food
Such a fun place to go all year round
Nice spot
Elevation makes it cooler. Stayed in a cabin and did some hiking. Saw turtle, elk, and other wildlife. Gonna do it again sometime.
Enjoy the beautiful forest and mountain views when you walk a trail. Nature at its best.
We loved this place. The cabin was simple and rustic. Very plain. Quiet. Serene. Sat and watched the squirrels from inside the cabin. Very cold tho.
The Hualapai Mountains are a unique place with diverse flora, fauna, and geology. Rising up to 8,300 feet in elevation and being the high-point of Mohave County, one can really feel like they are on top of the world here. The Hualapai Mountain Park encompasses over 1,000 acres and several of the highest peaks in the range providing excellent hiking opportunities. The Hualapai Mountains have several micro-climates that create confined pockets of diversified biological conditions. This has created an oasis for many creatures including mule deer, elk, grey squirrels, and a long list of year-round and migratory birds. Because of the confined nature of this habitat, being surrounded 360 degrees by desert, a species of ground squirrel and a species of tarantula are known to only exist in the Hualapai Mountain Range. These mountains are also the densest Ponderosa pine tree forest in Mohave County, and home to some of the only natural aspen groves for 100 miles around.Hualapai Mountain Park has many miles of trails giving you access to the highest peaks and the best scenery in Mohave County. From the top of Aspen Peak or Hualapai Peak, one can see the San Francisco Peaks to the northeast about 100 miles away and as far as the eye can see looking to the west across the Mohave Desert. For those less enthused for a grueling hike, there are some very nice hikes near the Ranger Station and at Deer Canyon.Hualapai Mountain Park has several stone cabins that were built by the Civil Conservation Corps during the 1930s available for nightly rentals, along with RV sites and primitive camp sites. The park also has two large, luxurious tepees available for nightly stays. As a local and hiking enthusiast, I would strongly recommend taking a day trip or staying a week in your tent or RV to escape the mayhem of the city and breathe some fresh mountain air. The granite composing the sharp mountain peaks along with the big, healthy trees you are surrounded by will recharge and inspire you.
Beautiful place! So much wildlife!
Took the family here for a 3 day vacation. It was awesome. Great trails and amazing views.
Awesome place to camp and see elk!
Lil hidden secret place! Great views and such a relaxing environment! Me and my family loved it here!
This is a must for your hiking bucket list. The potato patch loop is a must do. Its a workout for sure!!! Bring your camera to capture the views and plenty of water for you and your fur babies.
