Lots of grass, has a basketball court. Great for running!
No playground for the kids. Just grass, a basketball court, and a water fountain. Good place for a picnic!!!
We love this place because of the diversity of cultures that come here for water sports and supporting our local canoe paddlers and local owned shops. Family oriented, layed back, beautiful views, the water is always calm. Kahului is mostly sunny in this area, I recommend protective sun wear (keep tabs on the weather service for this area. The service here is strict but for a good cause. We had my uncles funeral here and did an old fashioned Hawaiian paddle out Hokuleia for him. All reservations are for specific members only. Please call in advance first for reservations permitted accordingly.
Very small park with an old basketball court that needs resurfacing and nets for the goals. Weed waking is a bit behind here. Park closes at dark and has no restrooms. There is one old water fountain but it tastes strange. Many nicer parks to go visit
The monitors are put in place by the Department of Health to monitor the air quality and determine whether or not it is hazardous. Very seldom do they ever record hazardous levels, and this is because air pollution levels are very seldom elevated much less hazardous. This is not a conspiracy this is the Department of Health doing its job and monitoring the air quality. Maui County does not have an air quality problem, in fact air quality in Maui is the #6 best in the nation.
Because of vandalism, all play structures etc. have been removed from this park.Overall this is a pretty park if your looking for green grass.....there is a basketball court here also.
Childhood times were really fun. Now its just a run down area to play basketball in.
The Kihei Air Pollution monitor is in this little park. The Hawaii Department of Health runs the monitor in order to demonstrate that sugar cane burning does not cause air pollution. At the very time these photos were taken, the monitor recorded excellent air quality, although ash was being dumped on the monitor as well as the neighborhood of North Kihei, Dec. 23, 2013 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The ash dump is affectionately called Maui Snow; its black and carcinogenic. Thank you DOH for this fine instrument that DOES NOT WORK.
Must see beauty
