We decided to explore the secret garden trail almost in the evening after some rain make us leave the beaches. Enter through the cemetery (and park there too, neighbours are not very patient with foreigners parking in their private ways). As you may read the entrance is almost hidden by debris, but with good shoes you can easily leap in. The loop is (as August 2020) block anticlockwise by a beaver dam, close to the entrance fork. The trail is well indicated by crimson marks, and boardwalk are abundant at sensitive spots. Is a nice and immersive walk under the Maine forest canopy. Walking it back and forth makes a fabulous 5 mile hike into nature. We didnt see the beavers directly but it can be a very instructive trail, specially for children, as the beaver dam and chewed trees are hard to miss.
Nice walk in the woods. It is not a loop as the map indicated. A Beaver dam has flooded the path, and is completely cut off.
