Had my outdoor wedding here last week and I really wish I didnt. The staff was rude and disrespectful. They treated us like we were inconveniencing them having our wedding during their office hours. The original event coordinator that we worked with suddenly was out and so we had a new coordinator last minute. All the sudden with this new coordinator there was miscommunication and we had to pay more for our wedding. That shouldnt have been the case since it was the old coordinator who did the miscommunicating. We were charged for tables and chairs when the old coordinator claimed that tables and chairs were included with the price she gave us. We asked for clarification from her but I guess since she was wrong, we had to pay.My wedding was booked until 6PM and we asked the manager if we had to leave by 6 or if till sunset, and they said sunset. Once it was about 5:55 the sun was going down so we started cleaning up after ourselves. At 6PM on the dot they turned off all the lights making it nearly impossible to see anything. The staff only turned the lights back on once it was time for them to come outside and clean, sighing loudly at me and being irritated about the one trash can they provided for 40 people being full. We did the best that we could cleaning and they were very rude to us.Finally, we left a container and possibly a camera there and have tried contacting 2 different people about it but no response from either. They treated us like a huge inconvenience, and did not make us feel welcome. They had the worst hospitality I have ever seen for a event place. If I would have known that it was going to be this way I would have never chosen to have my wedding here.
Pretty good course but holds way to many tournaments. Its almost impossible just to play a casual game of golf.
I reserved a tee time 2 days in advance for a party of 1. When I arrived the starter informed me that there will be another party of 4 that I’ll have to join. I explained that I already reserved my tee time and was told “if you want to play by yourself you’ll pay to pay for 5 people in total.” Then, back in the pro shop as I had to explain why I wanted a return of my money I was told “this isn’t the place for you.” They are 100% correct! I will not be back! Way too crowded for a Thursday morning, I could only imagine the weekend!
Wonderful course. Greens in great shape and reasonable seniors cost. Thank you!
We have been golfing here for several years! The staff, the price and the course are superb! We so appreciate the awesome maintenance of this lovely golf course!
The course is in great shape and they have done a great job of maintaining the greens.
Ok golf course. Employees/Management don’t really care about you besides the cart boys/girls.Golf pros also think they own the course. Went at 7am and someone was giving a lesson. They set up right in front of me in the pitching area in the back and then when I moved to the driving range they set up in the spot right next to me when they were at least 15 spots open on the range. Very rude, inconsiderate, and selfish especially with COVID still going on. This was the second time something like this has happened. I can avoid people like that most of the time so I’ll give two stars.
Very nice place! The course was in great shape!
Fine place to hit a few balls. Certainly not as fancy as other private clubs, but a done place to play golf.
Course in good shape good greensWish they would let you know when a senior tournament was before your tee timeSlow!
Great place to golf. And the people are nice and considerate with your needs. Very relaxing place to golf and have a good time. Been golfing there for years.
Great driving range.
Nice course, but they are always booking 4 deep to a T time. Some guys like myself actually like to enjoy a round of golf and not make a 3 hr 18 hole last over 5 hours due to wait time.
We hosted a party for 100 people at the Golf club at Cinco Ranch and it was a wonderful evening for our guests and us. Everything was well managed and the staff members did an excellent job. All our requests and details were taken care of and we were pleased with the venue, food and service. Its a great option in the Katy area for private events.
Great golf course.
Course in good condition.. a great price for green fees
Nice place to practice. Balls are good, plenty of room. My only negative is the turf is very skinny, its expected this time of year but still a disappointed.
Awesome place. We held a charity golf tournament here today. The management and staff went out of their way to make sure we were ok. They checked on us regularly. The surroundings and facility were gorgeous. The golf course itself was outstanding. And the meal served in the back was delicious. (Chicken and steak fajitas, chips n salsa, home made chocolate chip cookies, fresh tea n water)
I was not impressed with this place. I have never been to a venue where a wedding, was booked in advance, and we couldnt get to part of the space due to another event being booked. We had 90 minutes to get the rest of the tables set up prior to the start of the wedding. There was no attempt to clean that area by the staff. They did help to set up the room during this time. The brides dressing room had zero water pressure in the sink, and the closet was gross. We had to ask them to clean off the chairs that were outside for the ceremony (they were out there for days prior to the wedding). They even left the TVs on playing the baseball game during the reception. People were paying more attention to the game than the reception. I would not pay to have any event here ever.
I love going here to eat when it’s a special occasion . They have the best Brunch.I wish they offered brunch every weekend. The staff is very friendly, always attentive. If you like golf, this is the place to go.
Got some out of town family members here for a round of golf. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They helped us get set up and got the ball rolling pretty quick. The equipment available for rent was very good equipment. Although most equipment was 1 model older than the latest ones, they were is great condition and a true treat to use. The course was also well maintained and the time between tee times was appropriate to allow us to play at a decent pace.
Always in good condition, a fun course
Great course. Very well maintained.
This course has a nice layout in very good challenge.. There is next to 0 service and for that reason they cant get above 3 stars. Their phone lines were out and the pro shop attendant didnt seem to give a flip. Some of the staff was little bit on the rude side as well
Excellent place and great facility
Had a very poor experience this weekend at this rapidly declining course. The staff was beyond rude. All groups were so tightly grouped that we had people pushing from behind as we were pushing those ahead. It seemed as if rather than push for a positive golfing experience, the staff actually behaved belligerent and condescending. Dont believe we will repeat this experience.
Good service and friendly staff. They control the pace of play and spacing well too. Good twilight prices.
Friendly staff. Course is always in good condition. Nice pace of play
Called the pro shop and the guy Michael that works there was very rude over the phone. Tee times are pushed too close together. Was not offered a rain check and was told “too bad” when I asked for one. This would be an amazing course if there was different management. Will not be returning. There are plenty of better courses to play for the same price of $50. They treat their members like royalty, but if you are from the general public do not expect much.
You must try this golf club, at times a course will be crowdy but it is nice and well maintained.
Considering rain in area course in pretty good shape.Traps are another story. Maintenance is doing the best as possible.Staff very helpful. Prices of merchandise a bit high.Greens are good about a 10 on stimpmeter.Restaurant prices are high and dont offer specials anymore.
Very nice well priced course! I will be back.
Best location
One day.... I will live around the corner and enjoy all that this course provides.
Very well kept. Beautiful landscapes. Nice people. Good to play all year round.
When I put Schlotzsky’s on Google Maps this place comes up and it’s not correct
Very good golf course layout. Excellent driving range. Putting greens are very fast.
Really high class and nice
The club house is amazing at Cinco Ranch. If your looking to play a round of golf you can go wrong playing at this amazing course.
My family stayed here for a vacation and the place is good. Accommodating staff and great breakfast!
Top notch facility!
Fun little golf track with great practice facilities...!
Course is not worth 70 dollars green fees. Other courses in the area offer free replay with lunch. Will not play this course again.
Great golf great price
Pretty good!
Nice outdoors not a golf player, so cant comment on that view. As for the club house pretty neat place for a 300 people gathering.
Coutse and greens were in good shape. Employees were very courteous.
Update- So the GM responded to my review and asked that I follow up. I’ve sent two emails and received no response to either. Clearly the review response was for show and had no genuine concern.Since new management has taken over, our golf cart died on hole 8 and waited over ten minuets for someone to come out. Today assist golf pro with no service skills, refused my wife and I rain check and basically said we needed to wait it out. Sunrise was 6:48am today but they were making tee times for 6:15am, our tee time was for 6:30am and we were almost 30min late, place is poorly managed and all the staff we’ve encountered are not the least bit friendly nor customer centric.
The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch is a great course even if you are an experienced or beginner golfer. The staff is awesome and the holes have their challenges. Very recommended!
Great Fairways and fast Greens.
Over $80 for a tee time on Sunday morning and the majority of their tee boxes are almost unplayable and have been for quite some time. It appears that the course is ran by bean counters and just taking the money and running. Not much being used for course upkeep. Sad.
Great course and friendly staff. Considering the greens fee and extra $$ for a bucket of balls they really should offer bag stands at the driving range. I use a kart bag so it has no built-in stand. Driving range should be included anyway. LOVE the GPS equipped karts that keep score. Very nice.
Golf Course should be known for its course not for its management. I’ve heard from many over the last 6 months with new ownership, Cinco has declined rapidly. I had a poor experience about 3 months ago with the proshop, but I thought I’d give them another chance, as how could they really ruin a golf day (again). I prefer not to go address anyone specifically, however Harvey lied to me 3 different times or what he might say, mistakes (3 times), but his ignorance is what caused the issue, which he could not rectify and refused to ask his boss for assistance. The incompetence of this proshop is mind boggling. How hard is it to do the right thing and stand by your word. Nor was an apology ever given. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, however Harvey had multiple opportunities to do the right thing and failed completely and only made things worse. The lack of service and being empowered, well is a joke. Golf is known as a “Gentlemans game, good luck finding that in the proshop. I’ve golfed at 3 other establishments in the last month and the proshops of each have been professional and even “red carpet” treatment. I’ve played golf for multiple decades and don’t recall ever such an experience but now I’ve had back to back at Cinco Ranch. My play is enough to frustrate me, I don’t need the proshop to ruin my game/day.
Great WORK Team Awesome.
Might as well use the course your HOA fees pay for. The course is maintained well enough practically all year. Employees are courteous and helpful. The driving range is solid and usually busy on evenings with good weather. The clubhouse has a great brunch that is very popular on mothers day.
Its nice. The green is nice. The houses r nice too.
The course is actually in amazing condition despite being open seven days a week. The movement of crowds through this constantly full of course can be a little tiresome but the greens are usually in pretty good conditions despite some wear and tear on some of the par threes. The one thing I would love for them to do is to monitor the people that go out to the driving range only to destroy the grass for weeks at a time. Those people should be introduced to an instructor immediately.
My favorite place to enjoy beautiful evenings...
Great country club, we usually use the venue to do our Real Estate Events, the staff is great always with a great attitude, the restrooms are always clean and the food and drinks are really good.
Practice regularly here and play occasionally at this facility. Course conditions are usually good and friendly staff. Definitely would recommend.
The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch has a very well maintained course and playing there is really fun - great fairways and greens. Everything is great except that recently I had some unpleasant experience at the starters shack. I am a PLP member and enjoy the unlimited range balls for practicing. Yesterday (June 1, 2015) I finished dinner early and went to the starters shack at 7:25pm, 5 minutes before the shack close time. I talked to the gentleman in the shack, asking for two buckets of range balls. He said he could only give out one bucket because the shack was going to close in 3 minutes, with an attitude. I was thinking that it was time for the shack to close but not the range, insisted on he providing two buckets. And he refused to do so. After some reasoning on the difference between shack close and range close, this was finally resolved by consulting the manager in the pro-shop and the manager agreed to give out two buckets of range balls.Amazingly this is not the only time I encountered similar situation with the same gentleman. About a week ago, I was practicing in the range and thinking to get one more bucket of balls before 7:30pm, the same gentlemen refused to give out balls saying it was already 7:30pm (after exchanged some talks). Other people complained the same.It is really unpleasant experience to have this kind of incidence when you come out to the Golf Club at Cinco Ranch. The club management may need to clarify the policy so that the temporary employee knows how to conduct and abide by the rules.June 2, 2015Got the managers response pretty quick promising this will not happen again.
My family love spending time golfing together. Staff is always so courteous and helpful. Well maintained gold course close to home.
Greens were in great shape today!
Played a late round today. The course is in decent shape but I expected a little more for the price. The greens rolled true and the fairways were decent. With a little more rain Im sure they will thicken up a bit.The staff was nice and the beverage cart made consistent rounds.
The Cinco Ranch Golf Club at Cinco Ranch Golf club was great. Not sure about the repeat on the name, but it was listed on the bulletin board that way. Friendly staff,. Nice pricing,. Good coarse. Will golf here again and again.
Good course/pro shop and friendly staff!
Great staff, course in excellent condition. They really take care of the greens.
It makes me a little sad to leave a negative review on a day that will go down in the books as unforgettable. Nothing will ever take away from my perfect wedding day, however, if I had known what I know now I would have definitely gone with a different venue. The Golf Club was the most reasonably priced with the most included so of course, it was super appealing. The event director, Lisa, was also super nice and willing to work with us so naturally, we thought we had made a great choice. Unfortunately, after it was passed on to the coordinator Tarah it seemed like it was thrown together and it was inconvenient for them to be hosting our event. There were several instances that I requested information and she either ignored me or said she would text or email me back and never followed through. This included information about the venue, payments, and some items that we had accidentally misplaced. It was also unprofessional of her to show up the day of our wedding looking like she just rolled out of bed and just showed up with matted hair thrown up and a T-Shirt. Another major complaint that I have is about their grounds. They removed a palm tree several days before our event so there was an empty patch of dirt in the middle of the ceremony site. After mentioning it to them they covered it with potted plants. The kind of plastic pots that you get when you buy them from a nursery. At least it was better than nothing. The day of the wedding there were ashtrays and cigarette buds thrown literally everywhere in the area where the ceremony was supposed to take place. We asked numerous times if that was going to be cleaned up. They seemed to just brush us off. My mom went out there and started to clean it up while 4 male employees sat inside the office watching her in full hair and makeup cleaning cigarette buds off the ground. She got upset and went to Tarah to see if she could get it resolved. It was like an hour before the ceremony was supposed to start and they actually got it cleaned up, however, I have no doubt that if we hadnt kept complaining the cigarette buds would have stayed there. They were also supposed to include complimentary fruit, cheese, and vegetable display according to our contract but, I am sure Tarah forgot even though we talked about it a few days prior when I went to meet with her about the table arrangements. I was also told that the area for the groom to change would be cleaned out so they would have space to get ready. The boys actually had to get ready in the bathroom stalls because their dressing room was jammed packed with tables. I actually had numerous guests comment that Tarah and the brunette bartender with the nose ring had bad attitudes and were rude. I tried to be unbiased but it was extremely disrespectful to yell out that some of the guests were going to be cut off. If there was a problem with the guest she should have pulled me aside and told me so that I could have handled it. I would have been more than happy to tell them that if they couldnt behave they needed to leave. It was extremely disrespectful of the staff member to yell out loud for everyone to hear. None of my guests were violent, vulgar, or dangerous. I get that working behind a bar is not easy. I can relate I did it for 5 years. it was a wedding so it was the first time some of our family members got to meet. I tried to keep a positive outlook and remain calm because at the end of the day none of that really mattered, but I wish someone had advised me that doing a wedding there was not a good idea.
This course is always over booked. Even if they are running behind your scheduled tee time, they continue to take more customers. You are better off going anywhere else.
Course was a bit damp like every other place around. But greens rolled good overall good time!
I only rate this low in hopes my message is read by the club. Look I understand it is a public course and not everyone is out to play the game seriously. But when you have elderlys with pull carts that hit no more than 50 ft and the group ahead of them is a 3 cart group of only 3 golfers but are taking multiple mulligans.... well its obviously the marshals are preferring to sit in the shaded hut by the practice greens instead of patrolling these folks so me nor the people behind me arent skipping holes to pass them or quitting all together out of frustration.
The range is ok. However, in order to practice short game chipping, bunker, you will need to get to the back range which could take some time for available staff with cart to drive you back. A little inconvenient, but it’s a nice ride.
Nice facility and nice layout
Course is nice but they always overbook!!! Ridiculously slow pace! I rather pay alot more somewhere else to play a less stressful round that has a more average pace!
This is a nice golf course, with enough challenge for the high and low handicapper alike. Water, elevation, sand, and crisp fairways. Well layed out, and good staff.Cinco Ranch residents get a discount. I think I paid around $52 with a GPS and cart for 18. I was paired with a nice couple. It was a good day out.
Had our wedding reception here on the 24th of Jan 2016.Beautiful club house, wonderful staff. Katy and Michelle helped us through the process and were very kind and patient with the hassled bride (read me :D)Would recommend them highly!
Course is in good condition. Staff courteous and attentive. Overbooked, too many golfers on the course at one time...
Good course. Great proshop and employees.
I was on vacation and trying to squeeze a quick 9 holes. They charged me over $50 for 9 holes and required me to rent clubs even though my friend was willing to let me use his clubs. Had to pay another $50+ for club rental. One of the most expensive 9 holes I ever played and the golf course was not even worth half that price. I would have given them 1 star, but the rented clubs were decent Taylormade equipment. Not very friendly people, especially the starter. It would not hurt my feelings to never play there again...
Good course, not to challenging. Decent price for the course quality. GPS guided carts are a huge plus. Definitely going back
One of the best public courses in the Katy/Houston area.
This course is very poorly managed. There is no gap between tee time, they have no marshal working on weekends. They 6-8 people putting on the green slowing everyone else down. We called the pro shop and they didn’t do anything about it. I most likely will not play there again.
I am (was) a regular patron but todays round was 5 hours. Absolutely ridiculous. We saw the marshal out about 3 times but he certainly did not get anything accomplished. If you are going to have a marshal on the course, make him do his job. By the time we got to 18 tee, there were 2 foursomes in the fairway and 3 more on the tee with the group on 17 putting out. If I am going to spend $80 in a round of golf, I expect a better ROI than what I got today. It is going to be difficult for me to return for a weekend round when I can go to several other courses and get around in 4:15. If your marshal would have done his job, there would not have been an issue.
Very transparent and accommodating service. Five stars!
Good course, well maintained, food was good.
Fun layout with variety . Nice staff
How do you fit 40 golfers in 3 tee times?? Cinco doesnt know either.
Really was expected more than just a regular golf clubhouse
Good price, course is in great shape! No gps anymore.
Good golf course with driving range and chip and put practice area
Great banquet venue!!
Played in January 13. Real nice afternoon. Im a 12 handicap, called to walk on, paid approx $65 and got teamed up with a couple of good guys. Hit balls, putted and was off 1st tee in about 45 minutes.Practice facility is pretty good, nice grass at practice tee, they were top dressing practice green (due to winter and lots of traffic) but ball still rolled pretty good. Staff was pretty nice and pro even struck up a conversation while checking out the practice green. All greens were in real nice shape (expecially for winter); soft and ball rolled well. Fairways were soft and had real good grass. Rough is still dormant and they keep it short enough to not be too big of a pain finding your ball. Guys I played with thought greens were fast but Id say average for a $65 course.I read some of the other reviews before going out, so Ill address those: Beverage cart was plentiful and came around 4 times during round. I didnt walk to school on the cart paths, so I had no problem with the red shirts.A staff member was in a cart next to 18 to give a smile and a handshake and invited us back. I thought it was a friendly place to spend a great Texas winter afternoon. As an extra bonus, they offer you a beer in the 19th hole for the price of your score...Good course for the $$, it isnt Colonial, but then again, you arent paying those prices...
One of my favorite places to pretend I play.
Nice course and staff. A little busy, but all worth it.
Nice venue. Food and service were excellent.
Course is enjoyable and well maintained but the club house is in need of major renovation.
