A truly unique park, and probably the least-known park in the Kalamazoo area. One moment youre at the little league, and the next moment youre walking in the woods. Truly unique habitat with a wide variety of plants living back here, with a decent amount of walking to do back here. The beautiful Sand Creek flows through here, and I love all the signs showing you what plants are back here. I learned a lot here due to all the fun facts on the plant signs :)
Rector is a hidden park with a trail system that shoots off of it. The trails themselves are for beginners just new to hiking or for those who want to introduce their children to hiking. Along the way theres signs posted with fun facts about the different trees and shrubbery that grow in the area. The trail system surrounds Pine Creek where you can walk over the bridges and maybe see some trout swimming along. Another neat feature is the Kal-Haven Trail cuts right through the trail system for those who might want a quite bigger walk.
Its a cool place to walk an explorer
Nice park. No mushrooms
Great people, not much for kids to play on. i dislike the one way road and a lot of dirt gets on your car within that little loop.
They are very informative about their plants identification and a very well groomed trails
