So happy to have a safe space in Kalamazoo! Growing up here Kalamazoo always had some where, glad to see the amazing effort to keep a space here! It helped me when i needed it! And now Vortex is helping me now that I’m older

I only get to be there a couple of times a year, every time Im there I have the most fun! The shows are phenomenal, the performers are BEAUTIFUL and Im made to to feel at home. Thank you letting me be a part of your world!

Went here three times and regretted every time I went. Staff is rude and unfriendly, music is subpar, and the atmosphere was just overall unattractive. Save your money, there’s plenty better clubs to go to.

I love going out to club vortex to meet up with old friends, make new ones, and dance my legs off! It’s my favorite place to go in Kalamazoo for some of the best times of my life.

Music was boring, staff was arrogant. Been to a lot of clubs and this one was not up to par. Locals said not to go but went anyway. Dont waste your money

My friends and i have frequented, lots of fun, always great entertainment from the local queens and an accepting and fun atmosphere. Memories were made here!

Wife and I decided to do something different and showed up last night. What a great atmosphere and everyone seemed very friendly. We had a blast and would definitely return again soon!!!

The bar is in a weird location. Always smells of dirty mop water and spilled beer. The bar staff is okay. There was a heavier drag queen working the door was painted for the gods and so friendly and welcoming.Disappointed that they basically have the same cast each show. Would love to see some GR/Detroit or even Chicago girls!Would love to see some Things catered towards the younger crowds. There are lot of older customers that creeped me out.

Club Vortex is Kalamazoos only LGBTQ+ nightclub that is open to anyone who wants to come and dance, meet up and be in a safe, judgement free zone. The club supports the local drag performers community, and is focused on being a nexus point for the Kalamazoo gay community. As one of the DJs at the club (DJ DazzleShip), I work to play a wide variety of music for the varied crowds that come there; I love big city club/house/techno music, and love to see the dancefloor filled with dancers who are there to REALLY hear the best new music from around the world. Im also a huge devotee of all forms of retro music (mostly 70s and 80s) and can make a dance floor jump all night to that as well. Like any growing club, the regulars and patrons make the club, and new faces are always welcome as we work to grow, do more exciting events and make Vortex the club that Kalamazoo wants and needs!
