Took my family and my sisters fam here to celebrate my sons 10th birthday. It was perfect! We all had so much fun! Also, it was the perfect place to feel like hes having a birthday party without making those who are high risk and being covid careful nervous. The host, Mahfouz, was super helpful and was able to manage all of us old people who needed extra help at the same time :) We all cannot wait to go back!

My family and I went here and it was amazing! The associate was making it more memorable. The quality was great and we played with each other! We played all sorts of games and it was a great experience for us. I definitely recommend coming here if your looking for something really fun to do in Chicago.

It was my first time playing VR and I had so much fun here! Im 21 and my friend was 22. We personally really enjoyed the zombie game and it was a multiplayer game so we could play together. Alex was really nice and thoroughly explained how to use the controls and game.This place is the perfect thing to do right now that is covid safe because they ensure that all the equipment is clean. Not only that but because of how VR works, everyone must stay in their own boxes so that you dont crash into anything. Its perfect for social distancing and having fun at the same time.

Took a Lyft here with my kids for a birthday treat, they’re advertised open till midnight however upon arrival we were refused entry. A young worker was standing outside and insisted they were closed for the night with no explanation. It’s unfortunate that we came for nothing, and I bought the Groupon prior as well.

This place is absolutely phenomenal! My daughter and I went on a weekday, it was our first VR gaming experience and the staff person was incredible! He actually made sure our visit was adventurous and thoroughly enjoyed. The pricing is extremely reasonable for the time and variety of experiences they offer. I would highly recommend anyone in any age group from any background to go and give this place a try. They literally have something for everyone. We will be going back. I’m even thinking of planning a group event here. And to the staff, thanks for being so patient with us and making sure that we got more than our money’s worth in enjoyment, laughter, screams, and even a knockout! You were truly awesome.

Went here for my 60th birthday party. Yes a bunch of old timers trying out and enjoying the VR experience. It was great. Our host walked us through the set up and in no time we were knocking down zombies!! I would definitely go back again. It looks like its just coming off the ground as far a business goes, so it needs a little bit of tweaking. Possibly some different furniture for guest just watching or waiting. And a second host might have been nice since we were a group of 8 and there was another large group right after us. All in all it was well worth it and I definitely recommend it for ALL ages.

No audio in the headset and when asked for help, i was ignored and the staff member on duty was cussing like a sailor. Customer service was awful.

The future of arcade gaming. Our party of 10 had a thrilling experience trying out VR for the first time. For an absolute first-timer, VR is an extremely breathtaking experience. Its also very fun to watch others experiencing it.The staff is young and super friendly, guiding you throughout the way. We were quickly able to learn the controls and get the hang of the system. Eventually battling each other in a VR multiplayer game.Amazing experience, would definitely do it again!

My kids love this place. Weve been here twice now, its great each time. The staff is super friendly and attentive.Bring a collapsible chair if youre not playing. There are benches but they are backless and get uncomfortable after a while.

Went here with my little cousin who was really looking forward to trying VR for the first time. He absolutely loved it and wants to come back for 2 hours next time! The staff here walked him through each game and helped he learn the controls. They even encouraged him and offered advice to improve. Gamma is an experience everyone should try! Would come again.

If youve never tried VR and want to do it the right way, this is the place to go! Place is spacious, staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the hardware is top of the line. If you make a reservation, recommend you stop in a few minutes early so you can run through the waiver and tutorial. I had a blast - what a rush. Thanks GammaVR!

My experience with Gamma VR has been underwhelming, to put it politely.I came here last week with my brother. When we came in, a third of the VR stations were out of order. The guy working there put my brother and I on the two buggiest and least reliable sets in the place--and even told us he was doing so. He kept one of the fully functional stations open, though. Why? Because apparently as part of his job, he has to do a regular live stream of himself playing Beat Saber on hard mode, and this stream takes priority over customers. I fully believe that is actually part of his job description--viral marketing and whatnot--but it was a slap in the face to be deliberately given less reliable equipment just so that the best gear could be used by the staff.It took him 15 minutes to get us set up, only 5 of which were actually spent putting the headsets on us and loading up the game, and all of that time was taken off of the hour we had paid for. True to his word, our handsets were glitchy and low on battery, and desynced so often that near the end, our game was nearly unplayable. He gave us 10 extra minutes of playtime for our trouble, and said Ive been telling the owners for weeks that they need to come and fix the gear, but they wont do it. There is a clear difference between the game being buggy and the hardware being shoddy, as every gamer knows, and this was hardware all the way. Bad. Bad. BAD.The only reason I am giving two stars is because the guy working there was very knowledgeable about the games available, and had plenty of experience and was able to make good recommendations. Ive been here once before, and the equipment wasnt much better then, either. I dont know why the owners of a VR gaming spot would neglect their VR gear so badly, and prioritize marketing over customer satisfaction. Ill be looking elsewhere for my weekly virtual reality games with my brother from now on.

Beautiful lounge with an amazing set up. Ive been to multiple lounges in the last few months and this lounge is insurmountably better than any others. Staff is extremely kind and knowledgeable, and there is a large selection of games to choose from. My family had an amazing time!! I definitely reccomend this for your next family outing!

My wife surprised me with a trip to Gamma VR for my birthday. It was our first VR experience, and it was great! A great selection of games and I like the familiarity since I use Steam as well. I was able to find great games. The scary part was the plank walk game! Weird to see yourself falling off a building! Nonetheless, Id definitely come again and recommend to my friends and family.

Me and my best friend went there really late on Friday night, guy was super patient and so nice despite our really late arrival (11:15pm!) Outstanding service, absolutely outstanding experience, and an amazing place to kill some time or plan a cool night! Thanks loads to the amazing young man! Sorry you had to deal with how dumb I was! This place is really cool! Went at a recommendation of a friend. The building looks a little unassuming on the outside but inside it’s really chill and the workers are super nice and helpful. Mark specifically was awesome and very knowledgeable about the games! Totally going to come here again!

Went here as a gift from my son. He loves gaming and we tried it for my birthday. Even a beginner at gaming can enjoy this. Super friendly and helpful staff. Honestly, I was skeptical, and I’ve never done VR before. I went with a group of friends and it was definitely a better experience than I expected. I tried out a boxing game with another friend and was one of the most interactive experiences I’ve ever had. Definitely worth a try!

Fun spot and decently affordable. They don’t charge you for learning time or technical difficulties. I’ve been lucky enough to only be there when no one else is, but if you want privacy, that isn’t an option. Decent selection of games, though they could expand. Small business who’s on the right track and I’ll be back multiple times.

This was our first time coming here, and the kids had a wonderful experience. They loved it so much that our 1 hour session turned into a 2.5 hour session. Deart was so great with the kids. He helped them each step of the way and was such a sweetheart . We will definitely come again and recommend this place to everyone.

Have hundreds of games to choose from ( I would recommend arizona sunshine if youre a thrill seeker). The service is awesome, the workers are very interactive and help you out whenever you need. So cool these guys have the whole set up. Was my first VR experience was ALOT easier to get in to playing than I imagined was a 5 minute tutorial and then game time. Would recommend had a great experience.

It was a cool place but the building looks a little shady. The equipment is up to date but other VR places I have been to have a larger gaming selection. I was the first to go in the group and there were technical difficulties with our set up. The worker moved me to another station and again, there were more technical difficulties. I total, we spent a half hour trouble shooting. He didnt start our time until it was fixed, I was just annoyed that I kept being moved around and was the one to trouble shoot the headset while the worker was on the outside and my friends were already playing on another console. At the end, the worker asked us to give Google reviews before we left which was a little awkward doing so in front of him. He was really nice. It was probably a little uncomfortable the whole time because my group were the only ones there and he was very involved with us. Id go there again definitely but I hope there are other groups there at the same time.

Our first time at a virtual gaming facility. Looks overwhelming when you walk in however, Nick at the Joliet location had us in our gear playing in no time. It takes some getting use to for us older gamers with the outstanding graphics and immediate motion of the gear. Nick provided visual and verbal tutorials that made the experience AWESOME! They have so many games to chose from you have to go back. The price was great! It’s by appointment too so your time is guaranteed! Fun family experience!

Took 5 minutes to register, 10 minutes or so to get the headsets on the 5 of us, then 10 mins. to do the tutorial. After we completed all that, the game glitched and we only got about 30 minutes of actual game play. Disappointing. Once we got into the game, it was super fun but very short lived. $125 for an hour (5 players) but only got to play for 30 minutes

Such an amazing experience! All in our group of 12, kids and adults had a blast. We were able to play games alone and together. Games were super fun and “The plank”, having the experience of taking an elevator to the top of a skyscraper and walking out on a plank in midair, challenging to say the least! The staff were very friendly and helpful. An affordable great day for all!

My boyfriend and I tried this place out recently. It was our first VR experience. The building and surrounding area appears a little sketchy but inside is a nice setup. We had a few minor technical difficulties before we began but the employees were quick to fix those. We were able to do a tutorial and get any bugs worked out before our time was officially started. The employee was great at assisting, explaining controls and suggesting games. We really enjoyed our time and will definitely go back again.

Coolest gaming experience I’ve ever had. The games are fun, exciting, and keep whoever plays intrigued. I came with two of my friends and there was a game that fit all three of our likes- whether it was shooting zombies or swimming underwater. The place is also comfortable and has a nice hangout vibe. I didn’t even know how to operate the system and I was rather nervous when first trying it because I was scared that I would make a fool of myself. Fun, easygoing place. State of the art virtual reality, much higher quality than consoles. Very helpful and courteous staff, their walkthroughs and guidance are professional and of great assistance. I would recommend this place to friends, simply for the helpful staff who ask questions and listen.

The place is spacious and clean. The price is reasonable. The staff are helpful. When I called them to schedule, they provided me with their pricing and options. I was able to schedule the session the same day. They have top of line virtual reality system. They provided good instructions of how to use their system.

The location I visited was really nice, on the inside. By the looks on the outside it looks like a not very well kept warehouse. I went with a group of around 30-40 people, and we fit in just fine, although at some point it did get a bit crowded, so this place is not really meant for groups more than about 45 people.

The controllers are heavy and one of them kept cutting out the music kept doing the same thing. I only got to play a 6 min song on Beat Saber twice and a couple minutes shooting at flying saucers which did seem cool but my half hour was up and I was bummed cuz they didnt take time off for all the problems I had. The staff was friendly however, Emilydid try to tell me I needed to keep my controllers held up to get them to work(make excuses for her company) but as I reminded her that just isnt something you can do playing Beat Saber. Thats why I changed games. Well I tried to. Impossible to figure and she didnt guide me through that process either. So I lost time standing there waiting for her to help the other family that was trying to play. The graphics however were incredible.

A+++++ experience! We reserved a 8-player room for my nieces birthday. We all had a blast, adults included. The two young men who work there are so friendly, energetic, and helpful. There are so many VR games to explore! The space is very open, allowing for very comfortable range of motion when playing VR. Owner/staff are very accommodating to our requests. Leron and Alex did an exceptional job hosting my 30th bday with me and my 5 best friends. We paid for an hour and after 15 minutes decided we wanted to purchase another hour. The set up is simple yet amazing and they advise you on the best games to play. We came with 3 guys and 3 girls and Leron knew the games that would be great for us guys and the games the girls would find entertaining. Can’t speak highly enough about the customer service or the technology. Very cool date night, group outing, kids night, or even a single person video game enthusiast. We found this place through yelp, we went in as our monthly night without the kids date, and it was 5/5. Truly an unique, new experience, friendly faces at the desk who are happy to help and fun 2 player games. I had already used VR headsets before, however this experience was way different and the staff will help you go through the tutorial and help you put on your headset. The headsets were clean and overall my experience was great having never gone to a gaming lounge before. I also liked the amount of games that were available for playing, this was good as I was able to play multiple games and switch to another whenever I wanted. I was very pleased with my visit and will come again in the future!
