Nice, paved path through a wooded area. There are some trails off the pavement that could be fun.
Excellent place in Janesville for hikes and bike rides any time of day..look for ducks, herons, turkeys, and deer
A beautiful park with the bike trail running through it.
This place is really awesome for mt.bike..its like a hidden paradise
Im gone for two months and the locals get it through their head to build a road. Soon pedestrians will plague the woods with their presence, and their is nothing that can be done to stop it. Resignation is all that is left.
Looks like it will be a nice place when they finish work around it. Trails were not marked and prairie trails had not been cut for some time. Hopefully things will change.
To clarify the 1-star review, the best place to park is on the northbound lane of wright road (the westernmost side of the park from the aerial view.) The empty space on the right of the bike lane is a legal parking space. A trail that leads to the main loop is located past the sidewalk, with a small sign. This is a public park with little signage as it was donated to the city under terms limiting its development. It is a nice forest that highlights a unique terminal morraine, or more plainly, a ridge from where the glacier stopped. The trail system is maintained by users who volunteer their own time to help keep trails clear. Great for hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, or nature watching.
The trail through the woods is fantastic but not paved yet.
Love this park
A hidden gem, undeveloped and as nature intended. A treasure worth preserving in its native state.
Great place to walk!
Great variety of different hiking terrains, like coniferous forests and more marshy parts. The windmill in the center of the park adds some mystique to the forest. It has a ladder that should certainly be removed, however, because it is well past its prime and should not be climbed on.
This park has no Public Access. Im sure it is a nice park but the two times I tried to find it we could not find parking because we did not feel comfortable parking in front of somebodys house who we dont even know. In order to access the park it seemed we had to go into other peoples yards to access it. We asked a local resident if there was public access to this park and his response was what park..lol. We did see a small trail leading into the area off a sidewalk, off of Write Rd, but again, no public parking. It seems as if this is a private residential park. This should be clarified if this is, or not the scenario.
The Confederate toor guide was horrible, and the Yankees were everywhere. The grass was 0/10.
Nice place to take walks. Terrain is pretty mild. Good place for kids.
Beautiful place, nice wooded trails and open marshes. Lots of wildlife.
