A great spot for a quick and fascinating historical look into past life in rural New England. Very interesting structure and machinery. Gives you a great appreciation of how hard life was during the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries across most of New England. Great views across Conanicut Island from the inside of the mill looking out and from the surrounding fields. Largely self-guided tours, although volunteers can provide more details. Great for people of all ages.

Learning about where you are is always a great idea and this charming historical society is absorbing, friendly, and a great way to spend an hour or so browsing the finer details of American history that few explore.
