Beautiful walk through the woods, well maintained trail. There are some picnic tables under a canopy roof and there are Portapotties in the parking lot. We came in by raft and tied to the dock along the pier.
Nice location for a short hike and/or fishing & a picnic. There is ample place to bank fish and lots of room on the pier and floating docks for fishing. The hiking trails offer shade for hiking. Short trails but plenty of variety.Unfortunately much trash left along the shoreline area, especially along the marsh trail. Next time we will take grocery bags to haul out some of the trash.Mosquitos and flies abound, so put on or take bug spray.Dog friendly and mountain bike friendly trails.Covered picnic shelter area. And small pond near the entrance we saw some kayakers fishing.Port a potty near the parking (again with trash inside).Views of Downtown and the Dames Point Bridge.
This is a great park along the river. It has covered and uncovered tables. The pier is very large with plenty of space to walk on or fish. Theres a mile long trail which I plan on doing at some point. Park hours are sunrise to sunset.
Beautiful park, great walking trails, wonderful waterfront view and picnic pavilion. Great place to launch a kayak or canoe, or hit the dock to go fishing.
Beautiful,Peaceful, great place to getaway with your spouse or to fish with the buddies. Has numerous trails to walk on and many secret places to visit. I love it!
Reedy Point Preserve is located along the St. Johns River. The point marks the northern and westernmost section of Arlington. It is in the same general area as Blue Cypress Park and the Arlington Lions Club Park. There are two trails, a main trail and a marsh trail. The road has a parking lot with signage, benches, and a long dock at the end of it. The pier extends out toward Goat Island. Near the parking lot and the pier is a sandy trail that runs southerly along the bank of the St. Johns River.
We love the little beach on the St. Johns River. There are nice short family trails for hiking. I cant remember the mileage for each, but most are short .5 mile treks. Great tortoise burrows in the sandy cut through on the hike too.Theres a pier into the river for fishing too. It looks out onto the Dames Point Bridge.
I was invited to a BBQ at Reddie Point Preserve. The area is absolutely beautiful! Very quiet and very clean. Take your pets out for walks or go fishing.
Awesome place to hang out, was going to fly my drone but too many fishermen to get angry at me and the wind was awful. But very nice and quiet place.
Its another great spot to go fishing they got a really nice long Pier there cool views not really a trails park its more fishing and water views
Great hiking, but poor shade. Come when the weather is cooler.
I go here quite often to take pictures of nature and other things! Its a very scenic location, off the beaten path with a very long dock which you can hitch your boat on or fish off of. There are a few picnic tables and a couple nature paths you can hike!Heck there is even a small beach but I recommend you be careful since its not very wise to stray too far from the area! The breeze is really nice no matter what the weather, even in the summer, which is great since I costume out there quite a lot!
Very pretty during sunset, some nice picnic tables with an overhead and some tables without. There are pretty docks for fishing and to enjoy the view. I put 4 stars because there are so so many mosquitos in the evening.
I walk 4.2 miles 4-5 days a week. My preferred route is through Reddie Point Preserve. Opinion: excellent for my use. I have seen some fisherman on the fishing pier catch fish - not seen any record catch yet.
Nice trails. Usually not crowded. Only complaint is the kayak launch area is always trashy and very rocky.
I frequent Reddie Point Preserve by foot, and its nice that theyve paved the gravel road that was there before. Its always so serene and there are a lot of trees to offer shade over the sidewalk. Theres a little island in the distance that can be accessed by kayak. A pod of dolphins will occasionally make an appearance, usually in the early morning. You can see the Dames Point and Downtown Jax from the end of the pier, which should tell you how far out the pier goes into the St. Johns River. This is a real gem to have in Arlington!
Great place to take the dog for a walk off the leash, along the cleared paths. And now that they have recently paved the roadway (it was like Lunar surface!), it is easy and comfortable to access in a car. Its nice to see our tax money at work, cleaning up/upgrading park areas like this.
Did some pond fishing with the kids and wife had a great time places are clear of trash mostly and the fish are plentiful
My wife and I Alana I wish there this past Sunday beautiful art would you like to see dolphins manatee fishing first time my wife caught a fish very exciting
Nice walk. Bring bug spray. Mosquitoes dont play.
Walking is ok. Dock was closed when I visited.
Beautiful & serene, 1 mile walking trail is easy to walk; view of the lake makes the experience very calming!
Great area for walking or riding bike
Hidden gem of Jacksonville’s east side. Caught 10 reds, 2 jacks, and a flounder at high tide
Nice place to go for a walk.
Nice long pier to go good fishing spot no trails just good fishing and water views two grills and one shelter two picnic tables
Nice view but some people where kinda weird
Pleasant surprise. Watched the dolphins play close to us.
Quiet place for lunch.
Nice clean and quite
This pier is difficult to find. But this is a little bit of heaven on earth. The pier juts quite a distance into the St. Johns river and the view is spectacular.
Very pretty, shady, breezy hike with wide and narrow grass/dirt trails. I wish they were much longer... would have 5 rating if they were at least three times longer.
Its peacefull and a gorgeous place to go at sunset.( Or anytime, really)
Nice place to see dolphins
I love the peaceful setting and the winding trails! Great for fishing, barbeques, and pondering life!
I like Reddie Point. It has an excellent board walk that extends about 75 yrs out over the St. Johns river. It offers, fishing. There are shelters for picnicking There are trails for bird watching, and when the tide is out you can stroll along the shore line or fish as well. The entry is paved, there is also a concrete wall path. The only draw back is there is only a Port-o-potty for rest rooms. Otherwise it offers a great outdoor experience.
Its a beautiful park at the bend of the river. Had a kayak launched and dock to fish from. Met with Timaquan Parks Foundation and cleaned up the shores.
Beautiful spot on the river. Dock extends out to middle of river withe plenty of room to fish.
Fairly clean. Went fishing here.
Great place to put in the kayak. There are a few islands to explore just north. The trail is a nice walk for the dog and the majority of the time I go out its not really busy. On weekends the pier gets busy, but if you have some off time somewhere in the week its usually pretty dead. Great views.
Great park. Nice covered area with grills. Good for fishing kayaking and just hanging out. It has long trails and looks to have alot of wild life around.
Great fishing spot
Quiet park along the river with a fishing pier, hiking trails, and picnic tables with grills.
Morning fishing on this dock is as good as you could hope in an authentic Floridian city
Gorgeous place very quiet and tranquil definitely go spend a few hours here
I like walking my dog out here
Nice fishing dock or simply for watching the sunset and trails for walking
The revamp that has been done is great.. Very cozy
This park is very peaceful, but suffers from littered trails. With some public outreach, this park could get the funding it needs to be even more lovely.
Lovely park with boat launch, trail access, and restrooms.
Park in northwest Arlington with river views, hiking, picnics, fishing and boating in mind. Quite scenic, usually fairly quiet, fishing does kind of dominate the pier. Free, ample parking, off the beaten path but not hard to find. Nice place!
Great place to be stressed free
Great place to fish or hike trails and bird watch.
Wonderful nature trail and fishing off the dock.
An excellent place for fishing. Even putting your boat in the water. Dont go walking through the woods tho.... creepy old men are hiding in the woods. Im not sure what theyre doing but I have a pretty good idea. And Im not into that kind of thing
Quiet, clean. Beautiful ️
Love fishing here
This preserve is well maintained and the views are amazing and beautiful. It is also a very tranquil setting to enjoy lone or with that special someone
A great place to take the kids fishing
Great place to fish
Cool place
The lenght of the trrails are nice and the different types of trails are nice
Historical location, clean park, and beautiful views.
What good is a boat dock with no boot ramp???Useless and a waste of money. The fishing pier is fair but should have been much wider at the end. It becomes too crowded, especially in Spring, Summer, and Fall to enjoy or have enough room to fish without other people tangling their fishing line with that of others.Lastly, why does this park still have the name, Reddie Point? It was supposed to have been renamed over a year ago to Holden Point in honor of Mr. Johnny Holden, the first African American homeowner and development planning activist for the entire Charter Point and Emerald Bay areas. Mr. Holden helped with the development of the entire area for decades and recently passed at the age of 102.
Nice place to bring your kids to fish
Its beautiful and clean. the features are limited to trails, a long dock, picnic area with grills and table.
Good trails pier
Nice place
Great place to kick back relax and throw the lines out
Were love it there
Its okay
Great place to fish and dock. Giant open grills with covered picnic tables. Lots of beach access and smaller nature trail.
Love to bring my cats here
Nice spot to catch big reds
Boring, not a good place to fish
This is one of the few places that I have been able to visit over and over again and it always seems to excite me. You can take your dogs for a walk, fish, piknick, and pretty much be free from everything. Abide by the closing signs is a good suggestion. And bug spray is required around sunset. The gnats will eat you alive.
Great times fishing and love how quiet and peaceful it is.
We watched the Blue Moon set. Beautiful!
Beautiful views of the St John River. The last hurricane did do some damage but its still a peaceful place to visit.
Very peaceful
Beautiful scenery
Awesome views of the St Johns tributaries
It was beautiful and I will be bringing the kids here!!! Serenitiy
Short, but nicely cleared trails. Some would enjoy the lackluster fishing. The river is fast here just around a bend, especially when tides go out. Dolphins are an everyday appearance, sometimes you can see them play. Fairly quiet compared to other fishing points, trails are hardly used. There is also a good size lake that seasonal birds love to patrol.
Well hidden clean, quiet, well maintained and great family picnic place
I love this spot, especially when people have put their trash in the trash cans. Its very quiet and peaceful most days, and teeming with native wildlife.
Really nice pier to fish from. Just a calm place.
Beatiful place..nice for fishing on just a pinic lunc
Great fishing spot! Take a walk on the beachside and look for sharks teeth also, I have found several. There is a covered area if the rain happens to come. Very nice dock that goes out a pretty good way. Great for family, take the family dog for a stroll down the beachside or just walk alone.
Very Refreshing View...
Nice area to explore the St. Johns River !
Park was closed for renovations. However, a gorgeous fresh water lake by the entrance.
