I enjoy taking my dog to this park, regularly. Theres usually a few dogs every time Ive gone. Huge open grassy area with cement path around perimeter. The only true downside to this park is that it gets MUDDY. Two water spickets for the pups to rehydrate and several benches to sit and watch. For a free park, its worth visiting at least once.
Nice park on down town. Has an area for small and large dogs. Love coming here with the dogs
I love that this park has not only large and small dog parks, but they also have a great basketball court located in the heart of Springfield!
Confederate Park has different sections. The one I was in was a Small Dog Park. I go there with my dog Lily, she loves it, she thinks she owns it, lol.
A great place to just sit and relax
This is a great large open area dog park. There is not a separate area for small dogs, not that I have any just thought Id mention. Has an area for washing off dogs and even a pool to fill up. Today the dog park was clean, they had just mowed and picked up all the trash that you normally find. No flooding today usually its half under water after a good rain. Speaking of mowing it would be nice if they would accually BAG the clippings my dogs were covered in wet grass. Area of town is sketchy but No one has ever bothered or intimidated me. I love the sidewalk that goes all the way around the park. Plenty of seating through out.
I love how this dog park has lots of grass and not a lot of sand and pine needles like others in the area. Great for running although there are times where I dont feel safe going alone.
This place is beautiful. Nice and peaceful with tons of grass for my furbaby to run and play. It also has a walkway all the way around and I can get in a couple of miles of walking while my dog plays, or just sit on the benches and chitchat with people. The people Ive met there are really nice.
Need better fencing, dogs can push the front gate open easily. Also maybe enforce the big dogs in the big dog park and little dogs in the little dog park a little more. People complains when bigger dogs get too rough with smaller dogs making the area uncomfortable for people with bigger dogs.
Great place to take your dog. People are very respectful and kind. Security provides safty.
Nice dog park for downtown. Kid like the playground on site.
Great park. Clean and spacious w/ lots of seating. Only downside is that it doesnt seem to be in the best location. Otherwise, its awesome.
The park jmhas 100 year old trees a small lake and the historical woman of the south monument so serene lots of room to play bayland have a picnic
All Jax parks are beautiful, one of my favorites for the arbor always blooming and located next to Historic Springfield.
Wonderful and kids had so much fun
My dog and I had a wonderful time here! She was able to run and play in a safe area and they even have a small kiddie pool for the dogs to cool off.
It gets weird sometimes
Great park for pups! There are two sections - one for all dogs and another for small dogs (a previous reviewer said there wasn’t a small dog area but he wasn’t looking hard enough. There’s also a play ground for kids in the same complex. My only complaint/issue - the park can get VERY muddy even several days following a rain so be prepared to clean off your pup.
In addition to the dog park there is a nice kid’s playground that has shaded area
Beautiful park
Love my history and special places that can commemorate it
Is this a private park?
A little nervous at first because of the location but I was pleasantly surprised. A lot of ducks and geese to look at. People were friendly and there was a security guard there on a Sunday evening that made me feel safer and he was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
The city has done an excellent job with this park. Many of the dogs and their people that gather here are regulars and everybody is always nice.
Very quiet, the big dog area was very huge . The small dog section has a very small area. Also the big dogs had a pool and a walk way . They didnt have anything for the little dogs.
Its just a great space for grem to run and play
This dog park is great, for small n large dogs. They do have a separate small dog area..but me and my mini Schnauzer goto the big dog area...there are usually no dogs in the small dog area for him to play with. Just mk sure u bring poop bags..they are usually out when I go and if it has rained recently like today its gonna be sloshy in the grass and walking path. The regular security people around so thats a plus.
Great place to take your pups in the city for exercise where they dont have to be on a leash
Its Confederate Park what a name
A nice park with very interesting historical significance!
It is a nice park for a stroll. The city should seriously consider changing the name of the park.
Awesome place...my kids love it here
Relaxing setting for playing with your dog...no leashes allowed...completely fenced
Love the park, change the damn name.
Homeless frequently ask for money and theres an old very obese man on an electric scooter that encourages his dog to attack others. Security doesnt seem to care as he laughed and joined in. It is still a very beautiful park but needs enforcement of its own rules
I am at the library is where Ill be at all the time using Wi-Fi and its also
Nice park to work up a sweat with the family or your furry love
A beautiful greenway with rich history. Love the rose arbor, kids area, and dog park.
Room to run. Big dog Saturday. Nice ppl.
A great place for dogs and children. Lots of room to run and a nice playground. Security patrols throughout the day and lots of friendly families.
Al0t of trash caused from jax sewr systems
Nice place to take your dog to run around and play.......
Pretty good park but probably should come up with a way to drain water when it rains. After a good rain only have the park is usable because the other half is mostly under water. Also have been asked for handouts from transients a few times which is not too fun while enjoying playtime with my dog. Sometimes people bring aggressive animals and act like you have to keep your dog on a leash or not let him/her roam free because their dog may not take to kindly. Its pretty ok for the most part but could use some improvements.
Very nice and peaceful park. You can sit by the lake, relax and enjoy the view and atmosphere. There is a Christian service by the statue on Friday at 11 AM where the Gospel is shared as well as a free lunch. Thanks brother John and sister Shannon, God bless you all!
I dont know how this park has any 4 star reviews. Litter everywhere, including broken glass and condom wrappers. Area around the park is sketchy with aggressive homeless, who dont seem at all scared of dogs with people. When I went there was also an owner with two aggressive big dogs who acknowledged her dogs were aggressive and advised me to keep my dog away from hers.
Unique park to hang with the kids...nice downtown view.
Nice and quiet. Got a dog park to which is fun to watch
Take your camera to take a few candid shots of the Cannons and of the statue that probably stands on the Promenade its a small Park 7 minute walk from McDonalds and Burger King( can be wet after rains so would not suggest blanket picnics till at least 2 weeks after the rains ),but a nice place to take your dog because on the next block there is an a adjacent dog park.
My dog sure appreciated it, it is a great place to meet new people and for your dog to get some play action in
My favorite dog park to go to, our dog loves it. Plenty of open space to run. Some of the dogs play a bit rough, but no one gets hurt.
Its a pretty good dog park. It would be nice if they repair the fencing my small dog always seem to find a way out. Also the homeless people like to sit there in the park, which is frustrating because my dog wants to run and play.
Love the water fowl especially in the Spring with the ducklings.
Great park dog I he’s my and my dog this park was a lot of fun
Huge and full of dogs. What more could you want? I know people have said its in a bad part of town; its not San Marco, but its also not dangerous. The regulars at the park are super friendly and welcoming.
I love this park just need a dog to visit with
Its ok if not crowded. If crowded...most of the people stand around and talk and do NOT watch their dogs. And I guarantee at this time, none of their dogs have shots or spayed or neutered. Watch when you go!! If you care about your dog! Mine was attacked by the groups unattended dogs, that packed up on mine before we got in the second door!!
Bring your dogs, and sit around with other lonely people trying to make their dogs more social than they are. A lovely way to spend a couple of hours.
Good for small and large dogs. A Clean dog park.
I took the dogs there to walk . It really needs to be cleaned up and kept up .
Decent dog park but do not go when it has rained recently. Huge mud puddles and my dog picked yup giardia from drinking out of one of them. He was deathly sick for about 2 weeks afterwards. Its fine as long as its been dry for a while, but even still Id bring your own water for your pooch.
It is The Best dog park in jacksonville Florida to bring your dogs to run and play, its always clean. My 2 Retrievers Love going there. Im thankful for the park.
Very interesting because everbody can play no matter what size. Plus you can bring your pet.
Nice dog park if it hasnt been raining, when it has its like a swamp, lots of standing water in the grass you cant see, would be good on a hot summer day. Also occasionally homeless people lay on the benches so if that bothers you probably go somewhere else
Best dog park downtown. It gets muddy when it rains though.
Great atmosphere my dog always have a great time.
FREE huge dog park (about 7 acres), has a little doggie pool with a hose for when its hot and a side walk to do some laps while the dogs play.
Went there today with our lab. Nice park!! Lots of room for many doggys!! Small & large dog fenced areas. No leash!! (Yay) our Molly had a fun time playing fetch, running and playing with others. There is a water spot with a hose for drinking and a little pool for them to cool off. Very enjoyable!! No worries about the neighborhood. Its not the best, but no one bothers you, and they have security officers drop by.
Very good
Wonderful place for dog, . He runs and runs. So grateful for this dog park.
Needs some help, but not in terrible condition. Potential that I hope is explored in the future. They pond is gross though. The birds see to like it though, so thats alright.
Great park
Nice quiet place to relax & let your dogs have fun. Has a great park for the kids as well & a basketball court
Obviously if u have an agressive dog, do not bring ur damn dog to the dog park. My dog is being currently sedated right now from a dog attack. Please look at for a blondish medium size dog name Cheyenne with a black lady as her owner. Also has a black dog that was aggressive and stayed in the ladys truck and a small white and black chihuahua. Drives a truck and a handicap tag n the rear mirror. Please get her information as she needs to pay my vet bill. Do not go to this dog park unless u like getting ur dog attacked. Dog needs a muzzle bad owners. She didnt do nothing but stand there and watch her dog attack mine and while I was breaking them apart she didnt do nothing at all!!!! Im enraged. She picked a military personnel dog. Please find this lady and bring my justice to my dog Karma.
They have a nice kids park along the side of the dog park so its nice . most of the dogs that go are friendly. All in all its nice .
Good place to let your dog run and helps to promote social skills for your canine companions.
Big Dog Park is very big. My boxer loved running around. Walking path is nice. Will be back again.
Good place to bring dogs and children
Very nice layout, lots of room and great walking path. Tons of benches thru out. The ditch of water along the north side of the park is unappealing as mosquitoes breed in those areas. Gate for small dog area is broken, we use the large dog area so its not a big deal.
Its like a bird sanctuary
I just walked by there didnt visit
No one to monitor people not picking up their dog poop as the rules (well displayed) dictates. It would be 4-5 stars if this was done always.
Great place to think and let your dog run free
Nice dog park. Plenti on seating and areas for your dogs to run.
We pass out clothes food and hygiene supplies to the homeless
Very peaceful!
Its a great park
