My kid utilized this facility as part of the Jacksonville Youth sports program’s basketball league. Great facility, very organized, clean. The referees were good to go. Concessions were cheap, always well stocked and the staff of the facility were very friendly and professional.A great facility for the residents of Jacksonville.

This park as the other Parks Ive been to in Jacksonville is ultra manicured. This is not the style I am fondest of. I like a little rustic mixed with the tidiness.

Get some exercise or let the kids feed the ducks. Family friendly there are playgrounds for the kids 2 walking trails, amphitheater oh and my favorite animal friendly. Just remember they supply the poop bags please use them kids walking. Sports enthusiasts, Tennis, basketball, baseball soccer. Im sure theres more.

Great place to walk around feed the animals and enjoy the view. Theres plenty of biking trails, scenic photo spots, playgrounds, and shaded picnic areas. Well kept and family friendly events often

They have an amazing Egg hunt and games for the children at Easter time. My kids had a blast.

Great park and playground area. Definitely needed for this area. Has baseball fields, basketball courts, playgrounds, and an couple open fields the kids can run and play in. Also has a skate park for kids to enjoy.

The complex building closes around 8 pm, but the entire area has sidewalks and paved biking/jogging trails that go throughout the area, and the majority of this area is fairly well lit by streetlights. It was very easy to park in the lot and start walking, stopping at nearly 3.75 miles with plenty of options had we wanted to continue walking.There are schools nearby, sidewalks and trails connecting them to the general recreation area. Across the parking lot from the building and across the local access road is a large created pond with at least one bench alongside. In warmer weather, geese are often roaming the grounds, too.For sporting types, there are basketball courts and baseball fields, among other things, with bleachers and other seating nearby. If you are into Pokemon Go, Im told there are some things to do in this area (I dont play, myself).This is a popular location for waking, hosting community events and racing, and after-school programs. Its situated away from the main, noisy road, so its fairly quiet and a nice place to walk with friends in the evenings.

Clean, little kid and big kid playground little and big kid swings. We had to leave because my toddler wanted to play with the big kids that came out the recreation center with balls. I felt bad but he was too little. That was around 3:30 just so you toddler parents know.

Nice layout, good playground and the bathroom has always been clean. Can feed the geese/birds but parking is ehhhh sometimes unless you do,t mind walking

Interesting place for adventures of all kinds. For example, once we saw a snapping turtle and another time a lady pointed a large wooden cross at us and yelled incoherently. Never disappoints.

Well manicured lawns, clean litter free play area and the picnic areas were well kept.

My 15 year old son plays for the recreation center in Jacksonville. My thoughts on recreation is for fun. He has played a total of 2 games and every other game he is a sub and has to sit the bench. There is only one game left and we are all totally fed up with it. I asked his coaches and I was told, Sorry, thats just the way it goes. I guess if your not the coaches kid, you dont play. So disappointed. I truly hope that this changes for the future children that want to play for the recreation center.Shelly Tiller

I play softball on the facilities here. Great fields, but during evening games, the sun can get in your eyes. A few trees past the outfield fence would alleviate the issue.

Love this place. I love the peacefulness and the fact that there are benches placed around the path for people to rest and kids park is awesome.

Good place to go for a walk. Mostly people come here for Pokemon hunting and raids. You always see people walking their dogs or hanging out with their kids. Fun place to be.

What a great place! Very clean and large area for kids and adults. Plenty of running spots for people and pets. There was a couple baseball fields, batting cage, a couple kid park areas with everything from teeter totters swings and a field to run. There was also a skate park and a school in the back. Very family kid and pet friendly.

One of my favorite places! Great place for relaxing or being active and the kids love it... great for all ages and pets too!

I have been here for three karate tournaments so far it is by far my favorite venue for these events. The accoustics are nicer then most gymnasiums. There is an entrance door that squeaks and has every time we have been there it makes the wait in line even more infuriating.

Very nice recreation complex for team events and athletics. Well maintained facilities and fields.

There should be a playground in the area during sporting events. We are at a tournament and the younger kids have nothing to entertain themselves with. A outdoor area would give them a place to run around rather than in the basketball court area inside the complex.

I enjoy the rec center and the people there are just delighted to help you out space in the exercise room

Beautiful place to visit with the family or just to take a stroll around the the pond. There is also a childrens park that is very popular year round!

We enjoy the events held here! Always. Good selection of vendors. I do however want to say games inside the building should be held on different days! my 4m old was hit in the head by some boys throwing their basket ball at the outside walls of the auditorium. My son was in his stroller we were walking by, and the ball slammed into the side of his face, there was a big red mark on his face and he was very upset as was I!!!

Absolutely love this place!!I love that the saff are friendly, compassionate, attentive to my daughter. She has been going to this camp during the summer and when school is out for years. I enjoy that I dont have to pay extra for trip and they keep my daughter busy during the summer. I like the fact that the staff participate and are involved in activities with the children. I also like the fact if there is a problem with your child they always contact you or inform you. I dont have to worry about the safety of my daughter because I know she is in good hands with the staff there. She will continue to go as long as she is able to go.

They have great summer day camp programs! My children love going there. They go on lots of fun field trips and there are plenty of staff to ensure that the children are safe.

The park dept needs to finish adding to this massive park! There are SEVERAL open and unused areas available to add a fenced dog park and a splash pad playground. Also, the playground equipment is starting to fall apart and needs repairs in several areas, plus each playground has so much space for additional amenities and play areas! Wish they would update this great area like they did at the pines park-that is the ONLY park in a 30 min radius that has updated and adequate playing areas and its not central like this park is. This park is also always crowded, so it really makes you scratch your head and wonder why. The bathrooms are always DISGUSTING and look like theyre riddled with nasty germs and gross wet i dunno what all over the floor. Had to leave park to go to bathroom because its just unsanitary conditions in there!

Very Nice place, needs a bigger play ground. Tennis, basketball, baseball, skate park and pond with massive carp, catfish and turtles that you can feed.

We hosted the 9-10 and 11-12 All star baseball tournament this weekend...Southwest won both age groups...they are playing at the state tournament this weekend... congratulations to both teams... it was a great experience...we have a very nice facility here in Jacksonville....we need more Baseball and Softball In Jacksonville!

As far as adult recreation programs, they ONLY care about SOFTBALL. All the remaining programs such as basketball or volley are either non-existent or not organized. There are a number of adults who would join these leagues but the Jacksonville Commons rec center simply doesnt CARE

Dont sign your kids up for any sports here. They always have some type of crazy excuse for canceling the activities.and dont notify you . Learned that the hard way. Dont sigh you kids up for any summer camp or after school care programs they suck at looking after kids.they handle bullying terribley.

This is a great place inside and out for everything from having birthday parties, a day at the park, bring the kids to play, sports games and practice etc. Very clean.
