We went and had an absolute blast, was greeted by Tim and he was a great host! They taught us trick shots and let us try all sorts of different axes. Veteran owned and operated, they have a great concept and you can tell the people who work here take pride in offering a great time for their guests. Even other guests enjoyed teaching us and helping kids learn tricks. One of the best experiences in the jacksonville, hands down. BYOB was a great option for those of age as well! Highly recommend, thank you for providing a great time for kids and adults alike.

Fun times; great atmosphere; the staff was knowledgeable and very helpful; you can bring your own beer and throw axes, saw blades and sharp-edged metal playing cards for an hour. Not too bad if you ask me. Only drawback is the size of the facility. If it was bigger Id give 5 stars.

Second time Ive been to Flipn Axe had a blast both times. Went with two of my daughters today. They said they had alot of fun. Everything is clean and safe. The guys working are great. They took the time to help me and the girls with pointers and new trick shots. Its a good time try it out.

Weve been here twice and each time has been extremely pleasant. Our axe coach Dalton is extremely helpful, fun and made the whole experience unforgettable. At $15 a person (cheaper with groupon!) It is an incredible deal. The place is also BYOB/wine. I would highly suggest this place to anyone looking for a fun and unique time in Jacksonville.

What a cool place! My son and I came in to celebrate his 14th birthday by Flipn some axes. Dalton was a fantastic coach! He helped us improve, taught us trick shots and made sure our first experience was a great one! Will definitely return! Very highly recommended! Please dont forget to tip your coaches!

My husband, daughter, and I went for the first time. These guys are amazing instructors they covered all the safety first, and then started teaching us numerous ways to throw the axes. We had a complete blast and can’t wait to return!

Very fun. Brought my sister who had never been there and the instructor was very kind and patient with her. She was able to throw all the trick shots before we left.

Had a great time. The coach was extremly helpful with teaching us how to throw and was just a good dude to talk too. You can byob which is definitely a bonus and they have 4 lanes which take 2 people each so you could easily take a pretty good size group there.

Fun experience, never threw an axe though. Pretty sure they’re all hatchets. I feel super misled. JK

Awesome time. Super fun. Instructors were hilarious, but they were also super helpful and had safety first above all. Great for date nights, birthdays, retirements, or any other celebration. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Had a date night here and it was an interesting change of pace, BYOB is nice, no more than 1 six pack per person. The waiver process was quick and painless, and the coaches where quick and friendly with the rules, if you needed help at anytime they where right there. It was very safe and everything was a blast. Were definitely coming back for a date night again soon.

Had a blast with my sister-in-law. If I had Sundays free Id join the league. Our instructor was very nice and did a good job at showing us how to throw. The hr flew by and we will be back again. We also learned a trick shot (underhanded throw) and now we are like pros lol jk all in all its a good time.

A girlfriend was visiting from out of town so we wanted to try something different. By far the best thing to do in Jacksonville!! I will definitely go again. The owners are awesome and great at helping if wanted, very encouraging and great pointers. I will definitely be taking all future visitors and maybe picking up a new hobby!!

This was a fantastic experience. We showed up without a reservation and had a lane within 20min. The staff is awesome and will work with you on your throws. I even saw people throwing axes at pictures of their former partners; which is hilarious. Take anyone here for any reason. Its that awesome!

My disabled wife (TBI) won a radio contest from Rock 105.5. The contest included an afternoon with Palisades and Ice Nine Kills at the Flippin Axe. The staff could have easily spent their time entertaining the bands, or the station staff. This was not the case. They were attentive to each and every person in attendance. First and foremost they ensured all patrons were trained and were kept safe. And secondly, enjoy what is truly a unique experience. Thank you guys for an entertaining and SAFE afternoon.

Absolutely loved this place, it was a little out of my comfort zone but the employees really help to make you feel comfortable. I knew nothing about axe throwing before I got here and the employee gave us a quick lesson and pointers. Defiently a place to stop by if your in NC Jacksonville!

Great place with a friendly staff. Dave was very accommodating immediately upon us walking in the door. He took the time to walk us through the basics and after we’d gotten the hang of it, he threw in some trick shots as well. We will definitely be going back very soon.

A great place to relax surprisingly. Learning the art of throwing axes at targets is fascinating and quickly became addictive. Staff will make you laugh and enjoy every minute of the experience.

Its for a whole hour & they show you how to throw & they were SO nice. I swear, it was COMPLETELY outside my comfort zone but, once I got over my insecurities, I stuck sooooo many throws. Its super fun. You literally just go, pay for the hour & they provide everything you need to throw axes at targets to your hearts content. Its really a great bonding experience. We had a blast!! We are DEFINITELY going back!! DEFINITELY! This should be a franchise... Will be looking for them on #SharkTank soon!!

Definitely a fun date night activity! We got a little competitive with each other after a little while and started to keep track :). My arms were sore afterwards! You get an hour to throw the axes, dont think its a long time? Think again! You will be amazed how long it is, and how many times you can throw and axe in an hour! The guys there were very helpful and patient as we tried to figure it all out. They told us if we need to step forward or back and gave us pointers. We drove from Wilmington to go here to try it out and cant wait to go back!

A bit pricey but a great time

Bought tickets for 4 of us on Groupon. Nobody answered the phone. The hours online said Open New Years Day 1pm-11pm. When we showed up there was nobody there. My family is going back to Florida this afternoon so this was a waste of money for us.

Very small for amount of people that were there but fun place and helpful staff.

Need a bigger buffer so people dont crowd around you as youre trying to throw. People are generally rude and not aware (or care) about other active lanes. The RSO in me started yelling making people uncomfortable.
