I can understand the holidays hours end with 12 pm the day before holidays. But I cant understand why the Schedule is keep changing. Its not friendly when you look at the schedule and came to the gym to play basketball but its being reserved for other event. Then you go to the service counter the staff just told you yes, we just change our December Schedule the 2nd time. The gym is also full of Coach who training basketball, when they training the just cover half of the court with 2 people. The rest of the court is packed with 20 people. Im shocked YMCA is allowing those happened.

What a GREAT facility!! Ive never been to a YMCA that has such a personable staff and super clean restrooms/showers and gym. I never have to wait to check it, ever! The parking is plentiful and there is even a small restaurant inside the front door. I recommend this Y highly. You wont be disappointed.

This YMCA is very clean, has a lot of activities, classes, and lots of gym equipment. Very big gym and a great atmosphere. Me and my boyfriend have a membership and we love to come here. The Brooks Family YMCA is always very dirty. From the equipment to the locker rooms, I unfortunately find it the most unkempt wellness facility Ive been a member of. It doesnt seem like there is nearly enough staff members keeping the place clean and in order. The cleaning crew appears to be a family working out of an unmarked mini-van parked that parks in front of the building. A cleaner environment and better equipment could make this a 5 star location.

My original review was 5 stars but I have since dropped it down to two stars. I do like the Y, I signed up specifically for the swimming pool (which is well maintained and indoors) I do not like the piped in music, its loud and very distracting. Its so loud I can hear it underwater.I have also found the front desk staff to be extremely rude, unsympathetic, bored, snapping their gum at me a few times and often rolling their eyes at me on several different occasions. Also, the rudest receptionist refused to give me her name and was not wearing a name tag. She was the person who signed me up. I never got a tour of the facilities. I have never been approached by a staff member to see if I needed help or further orientation. My suggestion is that you can train staff to carry out skills but you cannot ingrain a positive attitude into people. My only other qualm is that it is a little expensive for what it is.

One of the best facilities Ive been to! They offer different exercise classes, you can get personal training, and some days there are some really intense, but friendly 5on5 pick- up basketball games in the gym. They also hand a amazing yoga class they offer. Only thing is sometimes it should be held I the basketball gym, because its beginning to behind popular, and the room its in is bigger, just not Big enough sometimes.-#Ac3

I just finished a 5 week rehab with personal trainer Veronica. I had rotator cuff surgery and had finished regular PT, but I was still having problems.Veronica assessed my issues and developed a program to strengthen the affected area. She was very patient and took the time to explain how each exercise would affect my recovery. She showed me the proper way to do each exercise. At the end of my last session I feel that I have vastly improved and with further suggestions from Veronica I will continue to improve at a rapid pace.I would highly recommend Veronica for anyone needing personal training.

I have been using Brooks Y swimming pool for almost 10 years in the winter months. I use it for water aerobics (not a class) 3-4 times per week. When I first started attending, the pool area was quiet (no music piped in) and it was relaxing physically and mentally. After a couple years, they started piping what they call music into the pool area. When I inquired about it, they stated that it was to help the life guards keep awake! If a life guard cant stay awake for 20 minutes before they change stations, they shouldnt be life guarding.I have about 50% hearing loss in both ears, so when I say the music is too loud, take my word for it - it is loud. Last winter I began wearing two sets of gun range level ear plugs - one pair in the ears and the other as ear phones. Most days the bass was still booming. On days when it is really blasting, I will ask them to turn it down. Sometimes they do, but usually not or not enough to make a difference. October is here and soon I will have to move inside with my water workout. I simply dread the time when I have to go back to the Y, but they are the closest public place with an indoor pool. If I can get there right after they have finished the aerobics class around 11:30 a.m., the music is not so loud; however, depending on which life guards are on duty, it is soon jacked up again.Swimmers probably dont hear the music because their head is usually in or under water; however, for those who do water aerobics, they usually dont have their head under water and the music is too loud, distracting and usually only what the millennial life guards want to listen to. You might ask me why I dont go into the warmer, smaller therapy pool. One, its too warm and two, I use the lanes for part of my workout. Not looking forward to another 6 months inside at Brooks Y pool. What a nice surprise it would be to have someone in management actually read this and do something about the loud music. Dont get me wrong - its not that I dont like music. I was a music major and music teacher years ago. I just have difficulty with loud.

I done with the YMCA. Overpriced and it seem like weight plates have been removed. If you’re really into weight training this is not the place to be..They are not enough weights to work out. the people are allowed to just walk in the gym for free, so I just cancel my membership last week for the simple reason why continue to pay for something that other people just get he hook up to play ball. You can tell who are the members and who are not. Being at the YMCA you can tell that the gym has lost a lot of member because they use to have real peak hours not anymore.

Did not have a welcoming experience. My crew and I were just trying to play some half court pick up basketball when we were told by other patrons there, NOT employees, that we have to run Full Court because thats how they run it there and its been that way for years. So we were basically kicked off the court even though it said on the schedule that it was open court and anyone could play. We went to management but management didnt do anything. They seemed to be incompetent and had no authority over the situation. So beware folk, if you wanted to join this Y with the hopes of playing a simple game of basketball, note that it will not happen. They seem to have a cult like, unwelcoming feel in the gym that management or anyone allegedly in power has control over. Cant speak on the rest of the Y but the Gym area is trash and I nor the rest of the 7 people in my crew will not be joining because of it. We shall not be spending our hard earned money where we do not feel welcomed or important as newcomers.

Last week my husband (who is a ymca member at another location) went with me to a physical therapy appointment thinking that he could work out while I had my therapy but was told that he was not allowed. Period. End of conversation. (Why not offer a guest pass for the day and say “If you would like to join us in the future you can add this location for an additional $6 a month.”) Instead, he sat at a table waiting for me to complete my pt appointment. At one point he needed to use the toilet but was told that he couldn’t because it was for ymca members only, even after he explained he was a ymca member at another location. We both felt VERY unwelcome. Surely there could have been another way to handle the situation!

Worst customer service ever.First, they change business hours without notifying gym members; the past two times Ive been theyve been closed when they advertise open. Apparently youre supposed to check their website and read the tiny text at the top? Ever heard of a mass text or email, the way any modern business would handle unexpected closure?Second, they mens sauna has a 50/50 chance of being on and even when it is on its maximum temperature is 130 F. I as well as many other members have mentioned the issues with the sauna and been told many times that they would be fixed yet it still is a problem. The staff and management seem to be really comfortable doing the bare minimum and are happy to ride out the clock just to get their paycheck.

This is suppose to be a family thing when people dont have a problem these to make problems for no reason. I order food for my kids the order came the lady jasmine told them they had nobody by the name. Lying. My kid has been there all day I dropped him off there. All she had to do is call him over the intercom if i wasnt a working parent and paying ymca so he could have something to do. I could have cook food and took him to a park. People make problems for other people when its not necessary. Then I call to vent to a manager. Jasmine asks if it could be anyone. I said as long as it someone who can help me she puts someone on the phone just as worst as her. Mr. Chad was very rude no understand and for the well being of my child or regards for a working parent. That is. Place for entertainment for kids not a jail house. Then jasmine tells the delivery lady that we no better then to send food there to the front desk. There is nothing in there policy that states any this foolishness thats you people that dont like they jobs should not be hired they should stay home. Its large but I come from a Y that had an entire indoor kids playground pool lol. The workout facility is nice with update equipment and everyone generally cleans up after themselves. The basketball court is great and the pickup games look pretty competitive. Great place. Another downfall is the unheksthy subway attached to its side.
