Went on a morning/afternoon raft down the Snake River (2 adults+1 4-year old). Event was on-time, staff was very friendly and knowledgable, van ride to-from the raft was comfortable, and the bag lunch area after the ride was just perfect. We saw lots of bald eagles. I would highly recommend this company and hope to use their services again.

We went on the 8-mile whitewater trip with our guide, Will. It was a great trip and Will was super cool. Will was an equal opportunity guide meaning, you all will get wet! Definitely a must while in Jackson.

We had a great time on the Snake. Collin was our guide and did a great job of making it fun. Our son “rode the bull” on some of the rapids. Daredevils in your bunch need to do that!

We had a great trip with Tim in July 20. Beautiful scenery. Constant laughter in the boat, especially when my wife was bounced out in a rapid. Would do it again.

Our guide, Tim, was excellent and made it a very special day for our family (ages 13-71). The 8-mile run was the perfect stretch of river for beginners, with some splashy rapids sections as well as areas where we could jump out and swim. We had a couple of bald eagle sightings as well. Beautiful tours from capable and knowledgeable guides that are interested in the individual guests. We went on a scenic ride in the morning with Dan where we saw the gorgeous Tetons. Johnny the bus driver was efficient and fun as well. In the afternoon we were driven by Christy through gorgeous mountains with just a bit of traffic. We were then led by Kevin on a thrilling ride through the rapids. I always felt that I was safe in the hands of the guides, but they were also very friendly and talkative. Overall a fantastic experience for any visitor to the Jackson Hole region.

It was a great trip down the river but I would suggest going a little earlier.. water is colder and the water is higher from snow melt.. we stopped two-thirds of the way to have a delicious burrito made by the guide..

Professional staff that knows their trade well. The price at first seems high, but then you realize you get a dedicated boat with only one other family, in a dedicated river, dedicated scenery with a dedicated river guide, for two hours. At that point, it has very high value!

Great way to spend a few hours taking in the Snake River. Kevin, our river guide, is highly recommended. Def recommend opting for a small raft - 8 people - if you truly want to feel like youre part of the experience. The larger rafts are for those that simply want to sit and float along and offer the ability to remain pretty dry...not in the small rafts, especially up front. Still very safe way to hit the Class IIIs on the Snake.

Beautiful experience made along the river. It was possible to see not only a beautiful landscape but also many animals such as eagles, pelicans, ducks, but also elk along the shore. The guides were available for any questions. The persononal was very competent and available. The price was adequate. I recommend taking a boat ride in the morning as there are few people and it is easier to spot the animals.

It was a lot of fun. The gides are nice and depending on time of year the water can be cold but wetsuits can be proveded. There is a lot of wildlife. Its very safe a 5 year old can do it. Im planing on going back sometime.

It was a nice experience. We were fortunate to have Tom as our guide. He kept sharing his rafting adventures throughout the 8 mile ride which made it more fun and lively.Would recommend this for first time rafters. Not too stressful. Class three rafting.This experience made me want to try out a class four or class five rafting.

This was a great experience for my family in Jackson hole. We started with the morning scenic float. That was a leisurely float down the river with a great guide named Zach who was knowledgeable about the wildlife and features along the river.The second part of the day was the white water river rafting. That was fun and great for my son and daughter aged 10 and 12. They loved it so much and water up go again! Lol. Our second guide Jordan was great as well and kept my son engaged the whole time. An astounding feat in itself!Highly recommended for families!

Will was our guide and made the trip so much better! He was entertaining, knowledge and enthusiastic! We felt safe and thoroughly enjoyed the trip. And we even have some white water converts! Would definitely recommend it!

We did the scenic float lunch and white water combo. All the staff were super friendly and lunch was great. White water rafting with Rosalyn amazing; tea cupping, riding the bull, and getting soaked. Highly recommend!

The staff assisting us in the office were so helpful and helpfulThis was our favorite whitewater rafting trip weve done! Highly recommend this company and to do this while on vacation in the Jackson Hole area! We do recommend using the wet suit jackets & shoes!

Great experience, price and raft

This was my first time whitewater rafting and it was excellent experience. Our guide Nick was friendly and had lots of interesting and helpful information on the area.

The company overall was fantastic, but the reason why I am giving three stars is because the guide acted like he hated his job! I feel like he needs to move onto another career choice.

The staff is super accommodating. The wet suits keep you warm even in cold water. The 8 person rafts are the way to go. Adrenaline rush...Barker Ewing is the company in Jackson.

Not the most dangerous rafting trip but, Elliot, our guide, made it very enjoyable with humor and games where you just end up falling in the river no matter what. Good times.

We did the morning run of the white water rafting trip and had a great time. Check in was easy, they have wetsuit jackets, bibs, leggings, shoes, etc. available, $5 gets you two pieces and you can add on for a bit more, highly recommended as the water was very cold even in August. Definitely bring a change of dry clothes and towel, and maybe a snack for the bus ride back. Otherwise youll be wet for the ride back, which would be pretty harsh. River ride was fun, good mix of relaxing and floating with splashing and rapids. Billy was our guide and did a great job, pointed out wildlife like eagles and osprey. Total raft trip was about an hour and a half. Recommend it.

This was the highlight of our trip.

Everyone in our family of five thought our whitewater rafting trip with Barker-Ewing was the highlight of our Yellowstone trip. Setting up the trip by phone with an employee was easy. The representative helped me pick a ride that would fit our kids ages (11,9, and 8). When we got to Barker-Ewing, we were greeted by a friendly and helpful employee who let us know what we needed, i.e., said we would need wetsuits and water shoes and thank goodness took his advice and rented. We got wet, and the water was cold. We also had the opportunity during the trip to get in the water in some calm areas. Without the wetsuits, we would not have been able to do that. The guide, Will, was fun and very experienced. He seemed to love what he was doing, and it showed. The trip down the snake river was the perfect amount of thrill and beauty for our family, and our we highly recommend Barker-Ewing Whitewater.

This was our third trip down the Snake River and boy it was amazing. Keegan, our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area and knew exactly how to hit the rapids for the most bang for your buck. He also kept it fun between our two group boats.Thank you sir we had a great time!

What a great way to spend a Sunday! I was fortunate enough to schedule a breakfast combo trip in late August and it was AWESOME!! I was part of the Cycle Greater Yellowstone ride and was having difficulty arranging transportation from the campsite of the CGY to the Barker-Ewing office. The staff was incredible in helping me work out those major issues starting several weeks prior to my trip. Our guide, Sprat, was entertaining, knowledgeable about the local wildlife, and relayed a sense of confidence that put us all at ease. Loved the breakfast stopover....a nice little hike up to a campfire with a delicious hot breakfast waiting for us. The last half of the trip rocked.....great rapids! Overall this was well worth it. The price was reasonable, the staff was stellar, the organization of the trip was well thought out...cant think of one thing I would change or do different. Thanks Barker-Ewing for a great trip!

Okay this trip was way fun. The Big Kahuna was my jam. Wish it was a little wilder, but thats the crazy in me talking. However, it got my heart pumping and still had me feeling perfectly safe the whole time (as well as the older gents and children with us). Our guide was awesome and knew a lot about the river, wildlife, history, and other fun things to do in Jackson, and Id certainly visit again.

Great rafting experience! We had Zach as our guide on about an hour-long trip and thoroughly enjoyed our time. They made sure we were safe and comfortable, they were very knowledgable about the river and were happy to answer questions, and above all, they clearly enjoyed helping us have a great time. I would absolutely recommend this place!

My husband and I were on a three week road trip out west. We are in our 70s and didnt want to try the rafting. We did the float trip which was perfect for us. Everyone that worked there was so friendly and we were quite comfortable the whole time. Scenery was exceptional, we saw an eagle red tail hawk and a egret. We also saw an osprey catch a fish which was quite entertaining. Would love to do again, thanks everyone!Betty Braitling

Our family did the breakfast float trip this June with Austin as our guide. First off, the Staff at the office was very accommodating and friendly. They had wetsuits for rental and thought prices were reasonable ($10-$12 depending upon how many pieces)Our bus driver, Jake was great and kept a watchful eye all our stuff when we went on the whitewater section and entertained with his mandolin.Cant say enough good things about Austin! Our first impression was laid back Cali surfer, but he turned out to be an absolute wealth of information and made the trip both fun and educational. He made it a great trip for our kids, us, and the other couple in the boat! We had a blast in the rapids yet felt safe and the time flew by. Our daughter enjoyed it so much, she wants to go back and work their next summer!

Great adventure, awesome guide

Its great to see a company that has been around a while maintain its standards. In 1986 we took our children on a Snake River white water rafting trip. This year we returned with our grandson, and of course booked Barker-Ewing again. We were not disappointed! The day before our trip I met people who had been with another company the day before. The weather was unseasonably cold and they froze. B-E had wetsuits for us and the cold was not an issue for us.

Our family of six booked the overnight rafting trip. It was the highlight of our Yellowstone/Grand Teton vacation! Austin was entertaining, endearing, hilarious and appealed to parents, teens and kids alike.The camp was clean, the food was delicious and the scenery top-knotch. Overall the entire trip could not be improved.We would definitely book with Barker-Ewing again!

The staff and guide (Tom) were super nice and helpful. We had a great time running an 8 mile stretch of the Snake River with several class 2 and a class 3 rapids. When we went down, the water level was at about 6k cfps (down from 15k cfps) in June. The guide, Tom, said he likes it best with 8-10k cfps. This trip was with 12 and 15 year old kids who also loved it.

The best part of our ride was when our guide flipped out of the boat. I think they got a photo too.
