Stewart Park

Its very scenic along the river and they have a variety of activities to do with a huge childrens playground. The walk around the lake is therapeutic with a bunch of seating and some cool swinging benches. It makes me think they should have tree swing hanging from the the weeping willow a, which are neat around the lake. Enjoy!

If you’re looking for a quiet space to reflect and relax, or if you’re looking for a flat, scenic running/walking paths in the Ithaca area, Stewart Park is the place you need to visit. Located right North of downtown Ithaca, and a 10 minute drive from the heart of Cornell’s Campus, you won’t have to drive or bike far to experience all the beauty Seneca Lake has to offer.

We had spent the day in Ithaca and we needed a place to stop for a picnic. Found this place by chance and were so pleased. There are picnic tables and benches and it was a really beautiful place to stop. There was a dock for public use if you need a place to launch your boat or kayak. Public bathrooms were clean and hand sanitizer was available.

Awesome park, plenty of work put into the space with an incredible, accessible playground for kids. Open fields for kites, picnicking, trails, and more. Definitely a gem in the Finger Lakes region.

Probably one of the best parks Ive ever been to, especially for children. They have many places to play, tennis courts, a lakeside view, swings, trails to walk, etc. The only downside, for me, is that they only have one basketball hoop; thats about it for the cons.

Stewart Park is beautiful. They have great playgrounds and play structures which I loved as a kid and still do. It’s a great place to go for exercise and relaxation espicially right now during COVID. It has a beautiful view of the lake with a perfect angle for watching the sunset. It also has the start of a walking and biking trail that leads to the ithaca farmers market.

If you ever in Ithaca, the Stuart Park is the place to visit, alone or with the whole family. You can go there anytime of the day. In the morning for a walk around the park, while looking at Cayuga lake. Or later in the day when you can even buy a meal. My favorite time is evening, specially because I love the sunset over the lake. Peace, tranquility, and the colors over the lake make it an unforgiveble ecperience.Search for the sun down hours and arrive with ample of time. And bring your cameras.

This place is awesome! Lots of great playground pieces for kids of all ages and a walking/running trail thats well taken care of. Highly recommended

It took me a while to come up with a good idea to write here. I have been to Stewart Park many times dating as far back as 2002. While it is often a bit crowded on nice days, theres plenty of space for everyone to enjoy it still. The lake is beautiful under any circumstances, but catching a sunset right on the edge of the water in this park is amazing. Plenty of grills, clean bathrooms (for a park!), Plenty of benches, tables and pavilions to meet your needs. The dock is lovely, my daughter absolutely loves the sensation of standing on it when it sways. While there are tons of amazing parks in Ithaca, this one is always a favorite.

Great place for everyone. Good playground, park has amazing facilities. Enjoy the scenery, great place to watch sunset. Good place for a dog walk, biking, walking, plenty of space for parkings. During pandemic people follow the rules. Amazing lakeside view to have grill or picnic. Recently updated playground.A must visit if you are in ithaca. Very close to ithaca falls. #parking is free and a food truck also comes in evening which has good food too

Solid simple park by the water with basic facilities and a dock for boaters to come in on the South Shore of the lake. Free parking in two areas.

Fun park with a great view. They have a restroom if people need to use that. And they have a few grills available too if you want to cook something. The people around there are friendly. There’s also a small dock where you can put your kayaks or rafts or whatever into the water. Some people also go into the water there. Would definitely go back to this park

Large beautiful park on Cayuga lake, very close to Ithaca! I think they could use some more signage, and give more than luna street food a chance to have food trucks there! Seems like monopoly!Excellent place to sit by the water, exercise, launch kayaks or rent kayaks, pavilions are there that you can rent from the city for events!

A good place to go for a little walk with restrooms nearby if youre visiting the area. It seems like a lot of locals hang out here. There isnt much to see though, the waterfront is not nearly as gorgeous as Watkins Glens. It is an easy place to park to use public restrooms though.

An Ithaca must see. Pack a picnic and enjoy the sunset on Lake Cayuga. Easily accessible from downtown and it is a great place to unwind and relax.

Its a great place for multiple reasons- if you have kids, the park has amazing facilities.If you want to just relax, walk about and enjoy the scenery, thats great too. Beautiful sunset.There are recreational facilities like tennis courts, canoeing, open fields and barbecue spots. Lots to do.

Best park in Ithaca and surrounding areas!Lots of space, pavilions and playgrounds.Hiking and great lakeside view! Fishing and boating is also available.Completely free and a great place to spend the morning or afternoon!Also, with Lunas now serving foodtruck food here can we also have other local food trucks show up??? Literally the best place for food trucks!

Love Stewart park and the playgrounds are cool but the new old one they took out should have stayed instead of leaving the equipment from the 80s.

By far the best park Ive been to. Beautiful daffodils and spring Cherry blossoms. Fishing spots, Kayaking, perfect Kiddie park and perfect place to get a good run and exercise.

Beautiful place with nice lake view and enormous playground - one of the biggest ones Ive seen.

We were visiting the area from out of town and took our dogs for a walk here. There are a lot of picnic tables and benches, lots of places to picnic and sit by the lake. The paved trail wasnt long but on a warm day, it was a good short walk for our dogs. There was a lot of goose poop on one section of the trail, and we could not find restrooms. Otherwise it was a nice park.

Beautiful environment! Easy to find, plenty of parking, & lots of room to sit & relax. Im looking forward to going back soon.

Love this park. Free to enjoy tennis, swings by the lake, lots of grills and picnic tables. Nice hikes, playground for the kids. Never to crowded.

Great spot to watch the sunset. Added bonus there is a nest of hawks. We were able to watch the young being fed.

Park is pretty. One bad thing is the bathrooms are gross. Dirty pad with blood in parking area. And the mens bathroom had used condoms on floor. Females bathroom smelt like pot

I havent spent much time in Ithaca but this park has the best view and calming place to me. The best place to having BBQ!

Its a park. Lots of places to sit. Has a bathroom. You can fish. There is a hidden patch of four leaf clovers. I like it.

We stayed in Ithaca for two days and both nights we got our dinner to go and brought it to this beautiful park to enjoy the sunset. We enjoyed the bike path as well.

Fantastic playground with plenty of different play areas for your little ones to explore. The park seemed to be under renovation, but it was well kept. Pathways near the water were nice, as well as the benches and swings!

I grew up going here with my Gramma. Great place for everyone. Large playground area with sprinklers and a carousel. I think they just put in a new playground. There are grills and picnic tables scattered around and several park swings/benches. Lovely place for a picnic by the lake or just to walk the sunset. There’s also a forest that is a huge attraction to local bird watchers.

It was so cool and lively. Got food from a food truck and had a grand lunch without crowding.

Its a beautiful park, but when the wind is blowing inland over the lake, it smells awful by the shore.

I love the place for the view it offers and the surplus parking space. One of the concerns are the unguarded railway line that passes through the park (watch out if you have kids). My only problem is the lack of sufficient number of restrooms in this park.

Gorgeous views of the lake. Very clean and its easy to spend the day here with small children even without the play ground being open.

This place is a gem.. Laid back vibe and people were social distancing which was nice so I was able to relax and enjoy the sunny day.

Stopped and got food from the luna food truck. Food was good and it was so nice sitting at a picnic table overlooking the lake. Was disappointed that none of the bathrooms were open so we had to leave.

Was really beautiful and has about 15 picnic tables. We were disappointed at the complete lack of any trash cans. Not sure if thats a Covid problem or always been that way.

Beautifully maintained park by the city of Ithaca. These pictures were taken on a friday night with excellent temperatures on a partly cloudy day. Families were gathered and having picnics at the park supplied picnic tables. Very relaxing to see boats sailing in the near distance. Very ea7sy access from the highway so it also make a great park to stretch your legs if you are in the middle of a long road trip. And the park is also great for your furry friends as well. Just dont forget to pick up after fluffy goes to the bathroom. HOPE TO SEE YOU OUT THERE!!!

Beautiful place for summer or fall picnics! The view is superb and the park has a beautiful walk besides the lake. Under the trees on the benches by the lake shore is simply the place spot in town to take a break and reset. The sunset view is gorgeous, especially during the summers when the sunsets are longer and Ithaca weather perfect for an outdoor evening. There is a ton of parking space and restrooms at the park too.
