A must see place in Ithaca for wine lovers! Very authentic and unique experience of wine tasting and culture. The visit was very enjoyable and full of information. The wine was superb, tasty, and unique. A lot of history in that place, and you will have the chance to see part of the process of wine making with a beautiful explanation from the owner.
Our wine tasting experience was great. We were offered 4 wines for tasting - 2 regular wines(white and red) and 2 port wines(white n red). There is one more champagne available in the winery but not available for tasting. We loved the port wines because of the complex taste and enriching aftertaste and purchased the white port wine. Our sommelier, originally from France, explained to us the reason why port wines have more sugar used in the processing and also told us a lot oabout the history of wineries in New York. He has profound knowledge of his craft and was very polite to show us around. Excellent experience.
Old World style wines in the New World. The owner was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and passionate. His passion carried over in the quality of his wines.
This is a great place. Frederick accommodated our party and we had a terrific time. The wines are delicious, especially the white port wine
Very interesting and informative. A fantastic experience.
Lots of history, delicious tasting. Would highly recommend!! Fredrick was knowledgeable and engaging, the atmosphere is very welcoming.
Wonderful wines and a truly engaging owner. Highly recommended
This place is a GEM! The wine is fantastic and the story is like something out of a movie. Worth the tour and the tasting. The owners are so friendly and it’s worth the time talking to them and asking questions around the shop about all the amazing artifacts. Please see this piece of heritage! Highly recommend!
We stopped here today for a wine tasting and the host was very gracious and informative. He gave us a tour and explained how they make their wines, which is very rare. They only make 4 wines so it’s small scale but the red and the white were both delicious. I’m not a fan of port wine so I can’t say how those compare. There was a lot of history in this little winery and it was very cool to hear his story.
Great family story and wine.
This place is one of Ithaca’s gems. If you are in the area to do wine tastings as an intimate affair this is a MUST stop. The owner of the winery is a descendant of the owner of a French winery. As you taste he will tell you the stories of his time growing up and working in the winery in France. You can get a tour of the facilities and view pictures and artifacts from his great-grandfather’s winery. It’s a small facility, but stunning. For us, THIS was the wine tasting experience we were looking for. Ports of NY winery is personal and lovely, and listening to the rich stories from someone who is passionate about what they do made the experience all the more special. Their ports are deliciously unexpected, and you will want to take home multiple bottles of their table wines. We are so glad we made this our final winery. We saved the absolute best for last.
Walked right into an episode of How Its Made! Very informative and fun. Unexpected in the best way! Great, affordable white table wine too.
Every single wine was great!! She was as knowledgeable as they come!!! And the puppy.....forget about it!!!!
Wow Ive done alot of wine tastings in the finger lakes region. But we learned more about wine making, and learned so much also about the family history. It was an amazing tour and I would recommend to anyone. Do this tour!
We visited at the late hours and followed the lady asking us to join the group to hear about their wines, thinking it was just regular promotion of the winery. However, we ended up being charged for tour and tasting for every person of the group, without proper explanation in advance (and some of the members weren’t even drinking..)
Gosh where do I begin with the amazing experience my friends and I had at this winery! There is a certain charm about this family-owned boutique winery. The story behind the winery, the wine maker and the wines made our visit so special. We highly recommend Fredericks port wines! Will visit again for sure.
We stopped by without appointment and the owner was friendly and welcoming. He gave a nice brief yet personal tour that lasted about 45 minutes and included a nice story about his familys wine making history in France. There were two table wines and two ports for tasting and all were superb and easy to drink. Highly recommend if you have a free hour.
A quaint family-own winery with tours and tastings.
A truly great winery with a truly beautiful couple at the helm. The visit and tasting was great. An Ithaca treasure.
Really neat winery! The owner was very kind and gave a great and informative tour. The wines and ports were delicious! Don’t miss this place on your wine trail visits!
The owner/operator comes from a wine family in th Normandy, France region. He was extremely knowledgeable and experienced in explaining the intricacies of the grapes and wine-making process. The wine was delicious... parking on site...and right in town to boot. 5$ wine tasting fee per person. We bought 4 bottles! Tres délicieux.
Do I love Ithaca so much that I will drink her wine? Yes I do. Since I discovered Ports of NY, there is a bottle or two of the red Meleau port in my home at all times. I will have a small glass of it at odd times, including when I make a steak. Love it.
Amazing!
The owner was very friendly and informative. They had two light table wines, a red and a white, and two ports, also a red and a white.
The best experience on the tasting trip. Family history. Fun facts and great wine. Bouche makes the time with you a one on one experience.
The owner is very nice and intelligent person, its was a great experience with good wine the cost for the testing is 5$ and it include an explanation.
Amazing, beautiful building and the owner is amazing. He was nice and very knowledgeable and his stories are great too.
The owner is from France and has great enthusiasm for wine and port. The tour is eclectic and not to be missed.
It was a very nice small place. As a small place I was able to meet the owner and have a nice conversation. Bought a bottle of white wine and plan on returning.
---This is a charming stop-- well worth the visit, whether you are an Ithaca native or first time tourist! Frederic, winemaker and owner from Normandy, is a delight to speak with and more than happy to give a tour of his facility-- the museum is full of fascinating antiquities --and his port wines are unlike any you have tasted. Dont miss it!
Wonderful ports, space and proprietor... we hosted a ~40 person event at the location and everything was fabulous. Fredrick was helpful, charming, knowledgeable and committed to making our event a success. Everyone loved the ports! Highly recommend!
What a delight! Mr. Bouche was a gracious and tremendously knowledgeable guide to a century of family winemaking history. From the antique, to the state of the art, he clearly knows and loves his work. His ports are incredible too! His results speak to the care and thought he invests into every barrel and bottle. Our new favorite stop in New York - we will be back for more! Thank you.
Wonderful done wines and port
Loved the history tour. Great place!
Questionable entrance but owner is very friendly and welcoming. Great family history and wines were .
Excellent owner and excellent wine. Gave us a awesome tour!
Owner is courteous, hospitable and knowledgeable. Wine is good. I was bummed when I got there and found out there are only two wines to taste or purchase.
