I love this trail! There are so many little waterfalls around every corner! I recommend getting a map at the office because it connects to other trails and its nice to track where you are while you are walking. There is no swimming on this trail, which is a bummer. There police or ranger was following slowly behind us. It was kind of awkward. We went on the weekend, so there were a lot of people there. A weekday might be better if your looking for a secluded hike. Always beautiful though!

Unacceptable to be open. Five times too many people to effectively distance.. only 1/3 of people wearing masks. Significant groups of people going the wrong direction.. it’s supposed to be one-way but no respect for the rules here by patrons of the park: all ages, all nationalities being unsafe and you can’t get away from people once in the gorge where everyone is congregated.Staff is far too understaffed to police the herds of people swimming and off the trail when they are not supposed to be. Yes, this is a beautiful park but not safe for you or your family to visit, at least on a weekend during this pandemic.It’s impossible to observe New York States COVID restrictions and be on this trail today.

Beautiful nature, gorgeous waterfalls. Good workout - it has many stairs up in the beginning if you go from the buttermilk waterfall. Definitely place to visit. Must be something special in fall foliage time, I came a couple of weeks after.. But its still lovely

Took the full hike and it is a diverse set of trails that range from a gorge with a set of waterfalls to a hilly trail encircling a lake at the top of the creek with a nice dam. Scenic and pretty easy terrain to hike

Even though it was cold, its a beautiful place to visit. I saw a few pieces of trash here and there on the trail but thats to be expected in a public area. Some of the steps were a bit difficult to go past, but overall I enjoyed my visit!

$ 8 per car unless you come after 6pm. 30 minute hike (really just walking up stairs) to where the other trail going back connects. Really pretty worth the visit even if it has been dry like when we went.

The walk along buttermilk falls is very pretty, although a decent workout as it is mostly uphill from the buttermilk falls park entrance. The path is fairly well maintained, but some of the concrete enforced steps are a little uneven. However, even with that, it was a very comfortable walk. The walk is soothing and the views are great! You get to see a lot of waterfalls the whole walk. If you are in the area definitely worth a visit.

Great hiking experience! The falls are beautiful with many photo opportunities. There were many stairs, so I wouldnt recommend anyone who has trouble with stairs. However along the way gives many places to be able to sit along the trail by the falls. We had a fantastic time and are already talking about coming back, eventhough we live states away!

Absolutely a must see and hike for this wonderful trail and waterfalls. Yes, this trail has multiple falls and drops, even though the main event at the bottom is worth the trip alone, dont short change yourself and skip the rest of the gorge. But I do need to for warn you, the hike UP the gorge isnt for the faint of heart or the unfit. Avoid hiking this one in extreme humidity if at all possible, unless you are fit or well trained for these conditions. Enjoy this one, it is well worth it!

Beautiful falls but the trail was too much.

Truly wonderful hike along the gorge trail. Great waterfalls and views. Wear boots. Free parking but download map beforehand as my cell service cut out.

Upkeep and maintenance of the trails is great. Map is great for those visiting for the first time. Beginning of gorge trail can be a bit of a workout.

Quite the trek up and down but SOOOO very much worth it for the picturesque scenery that follows the Buttermilk Falls. Truly gorgeous!!

Be prepared to climb! This one is a workout.

Lovely trail up the hill along the waterfalls. You can also take a different trail back through the woods. There are picnic spots and bathrooms at the start of the trail.

Great falls; a great place for people who love to walk

This is one of my Must See locations for trails to hike. The trail is beautiful and ever changing. It doesnt seem like an incredibly intense hike but it can take a minute depending on foot traffic. Personally I reccomend taking it slow and embracing the natural beauty above and below anyways.

The falls are full this spring. Very pretty. Only two of the right stalls in the ladies room were working and available. Not too many people. Just nicely populated. Clean grounds. Clean picnic area. Playground for the kids. Nice. No swimming and no access to the lower falls for wading.

Connects from Buttermilk Falls or can be independent. Nice easy hike. Took my time. And thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend.

One of my favorite places to visit in Ithaca- great form of exercise while witnessing gorges natural wonders along the way. The walk up is work but the walk down feels like it happens too quickly! Bring your camera and make memories here!

Great hike, next time I will go up the rim trail and return to the parking lot in the gorge. It was neat to see it with just a trickle.

Beautiful walk through a gorge trail, if you approach from the south parking area it seems like an endless uphill climb. The walk is well worth it as you can literally walk through the gorge en route to gorgeous views!

Beautiful trails running parallel to the Gorge the water hole at the bottom wasnt open (no life guard) but further up on the Gorge trail you can walk into the water (only goes up to your ankles at the most) but it is slippery!
