This park is so gorgeous! And while you admire the landscape, you get a killer workout in too thanks to all the stairs! The trails are really well marked. You can see how they’re labeled in one of the pictures down below. It gives you all of the incline details and what the path copperhead will look like. I did the rim and the gorge trail. And I parked down at the lower falls. Once you walk that rim Trail up to the upper falls, you can take the gorge trail back down to the lower falls parking lot. There are facilities at both ends which is really nice and the upper falls had a vending machine too. There are not a lot of trails that kind of branch off so it’s easy to find your way. The trails are very clean and well-maintained. And all of the waterfalls and the landscape is so beautiful. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun place to explore! We visited the park on beautiful October day when the fall foliage colors were at their peak. I believe on such a day the trail is accessible by people of really wide spectrum of abilities. Just make sure you start from the Upper entrance. This way you can take the scenic trail descending, and if not everybody wants to repeat the trail uphill, somebody from your party can quickly return to bring the car to the lower entrance. I believe the trail was one of the best trails of the kind I visited in my life.

Well maintained, clean campground. Staff is friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were clean, thank goodness . The rim path was well marked, and easy to find and also one way only (although we ran into a family with directional problems ). The ascents were pretty easy, steps in many places, the views were pretty amazing. We took th gorge path back, and wow, beautiful things to see. Excellent maintenance on the both paths. Lots of places to take pics,

This state park was amazing. All the trails were ipen and they all were breathtaking, I went on Saturday 11/7/20 with my 12 year old daughter we enjoyed every inches of the park. The weather was perfect, in the 70s it was not crowded. We only paid 8 dollars for parking.

Gorgeous (pun-intended) spot to marvel at the rocks and waterfalls. The gorge trail is incredible, with several beautiful cascades. Lower portion features camping, swimming and expansive day-use areas. During Covid, the Gorge and Rim trails are one-way only.

If youve never been here, the trails are currently one way. I parked, walked up the short road directly to the waterfalls, and walked across the bridge to get onto a trail. The Rim Trail starts behind Cabin 9, and from that trail you can access the Gorge Trail. Some parts are a steep incline or decline, so bring good shoes and a good amount of water. Very beautiful and peaceful place, make sure you look around because a waterfall or two is just off the main trail. They offer vending machines, but they are cash only.j

I loved this because the parking lot was close to a playground and there were many picnic tables in shaded area on way to swimming area. The swimming area had a lifeguard and was roped off into different sections the area with a diving board was 15 ft deep and you could swim over and sit underneath a little waterfall area. There were no lockers so people just found spots on the grass to put their bags or coolers or picnic blankets. There was a public restroom.

We walked the top of Gorge Trail to Lucifer Falls. It is something to see. The whole walk is the definition of BEAUTIFUL

A very beautiful park, trails with easy access, but that requires a little preparation to climb the steepest points. Super positive point and that in this pandemic moment people were respecting the use of a mask and distance, unlike other parks that I visited this month. I camped in the new part that despite not having trees guaranteed me a beautiful starry sky. I will certainly return.

Truly a awesome place. Its almost like Watkins Glen but with natural pools from the Gorges you can swim in. The Rim trail and Gorge trail was amazing. Carrying water is a must!!! Youll appreciate the views for your efforts.

This was a fantastic place to spend a lazy late October Sunday! We found ourselves in Ithaca for the day, without many firm plans. After realizing just how close this park was to town, we decided to stop by for a quick visit to see a waterfall or two but ended up spending half the day here. The gorge below Old Mill Falls is really amazing! Incredible views from the top of Lucifer Falls, and there were slightly more colors in the Enfield Creek valley/gorge than most of the surrounding areas, so it was a perfect place to visit after most of the leaf peepers had gone away for the season.

One of the best State Parks in upstate NY. The rim trail is 2.5miles to upper park and the Gorge trail to lower parking lot is 2 miles. Its the most beautiful during the fall. No swimming is allowed during Covid.

Amazing gorge with great trails, we did only the short loop. We visited the park on Wednesday, saw just a few people, it was very pleasant, good workout going up the stairs on the Rim trail.

Spectacular park! ... but know there is a lot of stairs.We started at the upper end near the old mill and walked the gorge to Lucifer Falls then crossed the bridge and took the rim trail back to the old mill area. You climb about 200ft up via stairs so be prepared. The views are worth it!

This park was amazingly breathtaking. I went on saturday november 7, perfect weather. It was not crowded the trails were beautiful. FYI if you have bad knees, this may not be for you. Some areas of the trails are rigorous may be a little scary for some due to the height of the trails. I was a little scared but it was worth it. Would definitely go back. You dont have to pay to get in only for parking which is $8.00.

One of the most beautiful parks Ive been to. Luscious green forest and beautiful waterfalls. The trails are a little bit more on the difficult level but well worth it. Just make sure you bring plenty of water to drink.

Comparable to Watkins Glen, but probably not as crowded. 8$ car entry fee with clean bathrooms at the parking lots. Due to covid, it is a loop trail starting at the rim trail and ending at the Gorge trail. Many small waterfalls, great views at the top and definitely a better hike than Taughanock.

Since we visited this place almost the end of August the water was a little cold but place is sooooo beautiful. We enjoyed spending time her, picnic, hiking, swimming and everything. Our kids were thrilled. I can’t wait to go back there next summer ️

We initially wanted to swim at Buttermilk Falls but we were told that the swimming hole was closed for the season so we decided to come here. It was a little busy around lunchtime but most people were practicing social distancing. The water was a balmy 59 degrees. The kids loved jumping off the diving board. A cool place to check out especially with kids.

A beautiful park! There was a fee to get in, but it was reasonable and good for the day. I hiked the Rim Trail and it was beautiful and well maintained. It was a good work out but not very difficult. Swimming is closed due to COVID and masks are suggested in more congested areas. The trail wasnt crowded and the scenery is so nice. Great experience!

We did the gorge trail till the base of stairs and returned via the rim trail. Beautiful place. Lucifer falls are nice too.

Very nice park that is kept up and clean. It has many hiking trails and a few waterfalls. Also a playground for children. It has easy hiking and a swimming hole. Also on site is an old mill you can explore inside and out with many information signs and three floors. All restored very neat.

Oh this one was a surprise for me. It starts with a swimming pool kind of area where you can swim below a nice looking waterfall. You dont need to hike for that. There are restrooms and changing rooms just next to it. This is perfect spot for beating summer heat.Other option is to go up via rim trail and witness amazing views of waterfall throughout. We stopped at one spot called devils kitchen waterfall which was in middle of our trail and we couldnt stop ourselves to jump into water and enjoy thoroughly. That palce was a hidden gem. We loved it.After that we resumed our hike and reached top where we saw some more breathtaking views of Lucifers fall.Because of cocid restrictions we had to go down via gorge trail. This was equally beautiful. It was serene all around and it was not even fall yet. I can only imagine how beautiful it will be during fall season.I would recommend this hike to everyone if you are visiting finger lakes.

Well maintained camp grounds and trails. Beautiful scenery.Campsite #69 does occasionally got a waft of sewage from the Camper Disposal across the road, when campers used it, but it didnt truly affect our stay.

One of my favorite spots in the area. Lucifer Falls is amazing. I regularly hike or run the entire rim trail/gorge trail loop. It can get crowded during the summer weekends but its a refuge early in the morning.With COVID, you need to bring a mask in case you come across others and cant distance. Its one way up the rim and down the gorge for now.The trails do close when it gets icy, so check if youre planning coming late in the season or early spring.

Incredible views on the hike, they felt unreal. We also camped here. Generator hours are limited, but everyone nearby was kind and helpful and facilities were clean. Wish there was a little more privacy.

It was beautiful! This hike definitely got our heart rates up, but the payoff in views was SO worth it. We will be back!!

A large state park, with multiple waterfalls and a swimming hole close to the end of the lower layer area. Theres a Gorge Trail and a rim trail, each take you around different sides and have different views of the water and the water falls within the park. Is a few miles on the trail each way so you need to make sure you have enough stamina to get through all the stairs and slopes. There are a couple of areas where you can get closer to the river and weighed in some of the shallow water, where other areas are steep and have waterfalls. Know that you should be careful of animals on the path, we saw deer, snakes, mice, chipmunks, fish and frogs. While they have distancing signs up, not everybody adheres to that and some of the areas are quite narrow. Theres also some portions of the gorge path that are still under construction so they are narrow and slick, particularly after a rain or snow.

Beautiful! Clean and fun for all ages. We celebrated a family get together that was well overdue this week and it was the perfect spot!

I spent 8 dollars to spend 20 minutes in this park...The waterfalls were awesome, although theyre redoing all the fun stuff to do and it was very limiting.We did Treman and Buttermilk Falls parks within an hour. They really need to offer a day pass to both parks or at least offer a discount with proof of payment for 1 park or the other.Certainly not going back here ever.

One of the best parks in NY state I have been too. The natural swimming hole is amazing especially the waterfall in the back drop.

This is a rare find and highlights the beauty of Gods creation. The Falls are amazing some of them stunning. Steps going up are challenging what you really feel great when you complete the hike. You cant go wrong with this hike. Do it during the week rather than on the weekend because it gets really busy.

Our family camps A LOT around NYS, and this campground, by far, was our least favorite. We agree with the other reviews of the campground, that the electric sites are small, awkward to park and level, and the electrical boxes are too far from the camper. We had site #4, and there was literally a tree in the middle of the parking area, so we had to basically only use half of the site. Luckily, we had the local Apple Festival to attend in Ithaca. There is a very nice playground that was enjoyed by the kids in the park.That being said, the trails and waterfalls in the park are beautiful. The bathrooms were well maintained and clean.We all agreed that we would not return to this campground. It was not a horrible experience, just not as good as most for our family.Date of experience: September 2019

One of the better parks in the area. The waterfall is probably the most impressive and you can walk along the stream after the waterfall. During covid, the trails are one way. Start in the upper parking lot. If you want a shorter hike, take the gorge trail and then after lucifer falls there is a bridge that takes you to the rim trail back to the upper lot. If you want something longer, keep going down the gorge trail, it drops you off at the south lot, so then youll either have to take the rim trail back or get someone to pick you up. If youre doing the gorge trail after the fall, feel free to jump off the path and take a scenic walk along the stream

You can’t possibly ask for more from a State Park. The land, gorges, waterfalls are all unique and perfect. Additionally, if you stay to camp (tent, camper or cabin), the facilities are the cleanest I’ve ever seen (Starting precisely at 6 AM and 4x per day from what I just saw). Camped from NJ across to the West Coast, and haven’t seen a better setup yet. Go there!

A magical place in the center of New York. Ive been going since a young age and Im always amazed by the beauty of this place. Trials are an intricate work of stonework that are constantly maintained. Short hikes on Long hikes are possible.

Long ride from Long Island but really worthy, I will go back probably next year.The place is sensational..

This swimming hole at Enfield Falls inside Robert H. Treman State Park (past the back parking lot!) was amazing! The water at the end of the fall was very deep, untouchable actually, but incredible! Hope you can swim! Masks required. Lifeguards on duty. Theres also a (much colder) section where you can touch bottom for the kiddos. Enjoy & bee safe!

This park is a wonderful.There are two parking lots, one near the waterfal trail and another where you can swim when lifeguards are present. There is also a big picnic area there.There is a longer trail between the two parking lots.There is beautiful nature and water.Truly magical.

We spent a day at Robert Treman State Park and could have spend an entire weekend. The kids swam in the swimming area, which for people with little ones, they only allow coast guard approved floatation devices, so no arm floaties allowed. My kids are older, but the lifeguards did yell at others. There are ALOT of trails, we only managed to walk up one, but the trails had fences, and stairs, which made it easy to walk on. Definitely consider spending a weekend here with the family.

Perfect for swimming! Love this area! A lot more to the park then I thought and will have to go back. Weekdays are less crowded, but if you like people watching and crowds, weekends are for you! Its fun to see who will jump off the diving board. Lots of other parks close too, so you can park jump all day! If your looking to swim all day and relax, this is one of the spots to do it!

Trail made me cry, but was worth the hike. Lots of steps and steep climbs. Get there early on weekends, parking gets full. It cost $8 to park but is for all day. We took the trail and saw gorgeous waterfalls including lucifers falls. Dont skip the one behind the old mill

Great dog friendly, one way (covid rules), round trip hike about 300 feet down and 300 feet back up stone steps (the shorter version) with nice views of Lucifer falls.

Love the diving board into the base of the falls. Water is on the cooler side, but on 85+ degree days, it is refreshing.I actually lost my Apple Watch when I jumped off the diving board. Luckily a lifeguard went in later dived, and found it for me. Lesson learned, take off your watch before jumping in.Hiked the gorge trail and rim trail here. Trails are scenic and give good views of several waterfalls.

There were 3 falls that we saw. Lucifer, the one steps from the lower parking lot. This is also the designated swimming hole. The swimming was cancelled for the day we went. We found a couple other spots for the kids to cool off. Also saw a large snake that just got done feeding! Trails were nicely groomed

Went here 9/17 and I was astounded by what I saw. So many waterfalls(of course the water level was low,but still impactful),staircases reminding me of an Escher print, and of course- cathedral like gorge settings. Just an amazing place.

Such a fun place to visit. Note that when staffing is low, the deep end is cosed. This area includes the diving board and swimming in the waterfalls, and there is really no way to know this until you arrive. That said, it is still a beautiful place to cool off at.

This is a super great place to bring the kids and your own inner kid, the driving board is super cool and the guards are very observant. There are picnic tables and lots of shade, the woodsy feel of being there is super refreshing. The water is cold but the falls are absolutely beautiful to look at. It’s a great photography place. There are some nice camp sites. If you are 62 or older and have a valid NY drivers license you can get your whole family in for free. Super great place to visit.

Here is some candid feedback about the park. Camping areas are really not that great at this park unless you like seeing your neighbors. Most of the camping areas are open to one another. There are a few that have a little privacy but not much . The newly opened camping areas don’t have photos yet but they have full sun and are basically in a field. Not my idea of camping in a forest. The park it self and hike is fantastic. Tip.... take gorge trail for a more scenic hike that is much easier than Rim trail from the bottom. We took the Gorge all the way to the top park and then Rim trail from the top back down. The views are great and the climb can be a little challenging if you are not in shape. Park is well maintained and they are in the process of adding steps where there are steep climbs.Swimming was closed during the time we were there but it looks like it would have been a lot of fun.Bathrooms and showers where clean and had hot water!!!Definitely would visit again but my choose to camp elsewhere.

Wow. Even though my legs are very sore from hiking I would come again. From the beginning, the pool area is next to Lower falls entrance. It opens 11 am on weekday. We came on Thu, so there were no crowds. The hike from lower entrance all the way to upper falls and back took 4 hours. If you just want to see the falls, use upper entrance and then go over the bridge and back after the falls. Your will save 2 hours of hiking. Bring swimsuit and water booties to enjoy many natural pool areas. But you will need sturdy shoes for hiking, as there are many steps and steep as well as slippery areas. And then waterfalls are magnificent!

Great place for a walk and photos. Start from south area of you want a substantial hike. North area for nice 2 miler

$8 in per car. Great swim area to use. Bathrooms and separate changing rooms close to swimming area. On the grassy area next to the swim area they have social distance circles set up for people to put their stuff into. We were lucky to get one. Active lifeguards on duty also.

So many words have come to my mind to describe this hidden paradise which may make you speechless. Unbelievably amazing and gorgeous. Wonderful scenic place where you can enjoy the nature at its best.A natural pool under a waterfall is a perfect relief after hiking on the breathtaking trails.Make sure you experience this miracle of the nature at least once in your life. You wont be regretful.

This park has breath-taking views but not a trail for everyone. There are a lot of stairs and they are very steep. There are many places where the trail drops straight down into the gorge. This park is absolutely magical though!

One of my favorite places to hike in the area. Beautiful scenery and a decent challenge with out being too hard.

I love hiking here but the campsites are not my favorite. They have rocks blocking all the best sites so you can only tent camp on those sites.

Took the Rim trail for an in and out hike. It would have been nicer if the Gorge trail was open but the overall trip was very lovely, aside from being packed with people. Will come back earlier next time.

Cabins have been remodeled. Very nice. Camp sites are good for campers but, where we were next to the playground, too rocky for tents. I hope they improve them with leveling, top soil and grass.

Love love love. Scenery keeps changing. Great views and nice hike. Pro Tip - skip the main swimming hole thats full of kids and families, and go jump in the river upstream. Lots of places to jump in and cool off!

Beautiful, well cared for park with mature trees, and grounds. There are many Eastern blue bird boxes and frequent sightings. The play ground is nice and not over crowded most of the time.

This park was great they have a short walk to see the lower falls. Great for families. And the upper loop was challenging with a lot of stairs. But definitly worth the views. It was great to see so many people following mask rules and trying to social distance

Very beautiful park. The watering hole is gorgeous and super refreshing after a long day of hiking. Bring water shoes!!! The floor is all rocks and uncomfortable to walk on. The place to settle your stuff down is pretty small and they should expand it especially for summer guests.

Great time. There are 2 sides to the park. One side you have to pay for and the other you dont. I enjoyed Lucifer falls and the walk way down. Great spot for the family.

A great place to camp, hike, and swim. Park has an upper and lower section. In the lower portion, there is a waterfall swim area, campground, and trails. Hikes are moderate and some are strenuous. Trails take you to Lucifer falls, which can also be accessed by driving to the upper section of this park.In the lower portion are also playgrounds for kids, picnic tables and grills for day use.

Hiked upper gorge trail only because we did buttermilk falls in the morning and Watkins glen gorge trail the day before. This was easily most beautiful of the three. Fewer people and just amazing scenery.

It’s a long hike to do the whole gorge/rim loop, but totally worth it!! Since it’s one way right now, I recommend starting at the lower park so you ascend the Rim train first and descend the Gorge trail afterwards. I think it would have been difficult to end by going uphill!

This park and Lucifer Falls within are stunning. There is a gorge and rim trail for a good hike and its really well laid out. Walkways can be slippery and some spots were a little perilous so proper footwear is a must. Truly a stunning display by mother nature.

Another great State Park for hiking and this one just so happens to have a swimming area that is very popular on a hot day. Even though the amount of vehicles parked dont always mean its those at the pool, it could be some hikers as well. But when the temperature heats up you can count on the cars being there for the swimming area. As for the hiking here, its also a very good trail with areas to stop and cool off in if need be. So definitely wear some breathable shorts or something that dries quick so you can take advantage of this. Learned that the hard way. Watching everyone else cooling off during a hike is never fun. But if you want the hike to be slightly easier, Id say start out on the trail the side the office is on. If you start out on the other end, be prepared to climb the steep stairs and hills rather than coming down them. Its much easier coming down them. Be safe and ENJOY!!!

Another feather in the hat is this state park in the upstate NY. Beautiful park with amazing lush greens and peaks surrounded with tall trees. Wonderful fall in the center for the park. What I felt is it has to be little more specific on mentioning the directions of the trails and fall. They did well by mentioning the danger zone and the prohibit areas but no sign of north or south kind of guiding signs which take us to different trails. Only the locals or people who visited often may know the direction easily but people like us, the first timers are little confused. Also the rest rooms nears the fall were closed. Over all it is an awesome place to be with family and children.

Its no Watkins Glen but absolutely worth a visit if you are in the area. Start at the bottom and hike up. Doing so will ensure that you have the best view of each waterfall as your are hiking to it. The first 3/4 of the trek from the bottom is rather uneventful, but it takes a drastic turn as you near the top that makes it worth the effort. Be careful on the muddy steps. I slipped on one and came away with a nasty bruise. Dont be afraid to occasionally wander off the beaten track because it will truly impress at times. I hiked up through the canyon and then took the rim trail back down. This was a mistake as the rim trail was rather dull with the exception one decent viewing point. I would have preferred to hike back down through the canyon. Bring water with you.

Its a beautiful park for swimming at Enfield Falls. We love hiking the trails and stopping along the way to cool down at one of many swimming holes.

This is a beautiful park that doesnt have a long walk to see most of the falls if you park at the upper parking lot. We did the gorge trail to the upper falls and walked back down the rim trail. I prefer this way so you are walking and seeing the waterfalls straight on. The hike wasnt that difficult.

Waterfalls, woods, stone steps, camping, cabins, swimming under a waterfall. This is an outstanding place to visit. There is plenty of space for having a picnic. The Gorge Trail was closed when I was there but it looks like it would be an excellent walk that leads you close to the waterfalls and the creek. The Rim Trail was really cool although it was very crowded in both directions. The old mill building by the upper falls is definitely worth checking out. If the Gorge Trail is closed you can make a nice loop by doing the Rim Trail in one direction and the Finger Lakes Trail in the other direction. Just make sure you have a map so you can navigate between the Finger Lakes Trail and the campground area.

Park has $8 parking . You can swim and pool depth varies from 4 ft to 25 ft. Deeper areas allows diving too.There is camp ground for trailers and camping with ample of restroom facility.
