Horrible facility! These days its a huge Covid risk. You want a real theater go to Cinemark.
Location is nice. Can get crowded on weekends and depending on movie. Had a bad mishap with seats. Apparently my seat was chosen twice and had to move even though we got the seats 2 hours before them. Both tickets had the same number though. Seats are nice. But after that I really feel uncomfortable with reserved seating since clearly it doesnt work.
Well the movie wasnt loud enough & couldnt hear certain words & could here the movie theater next to me. But we were the only 2 people so we could talk the entire movie, LoL
Older theater but same great movies as anywhere else. Pricing much less than nearby theaters. Their showtimes also made more sense. Plenty of parking. I only deducted a star because Ive come to really enjoy reserved lounge seating which this theater does not have.
I recommend for no one to ever come to this theater. They had no hot dogs no soda it was filthy everywhere, the countertops n butter machine was so dirty omg it had hair on it... and the drinks very expensive! We just got into the theater and its dirty trash in around the seats and the seats smell like ass
Older movie house but clean and comfortable. I was in a theater by myself for a 4:00 matinee. The price for a ticket for the movie I wanted to see was $4! I dont know if thats their everyday price.
I will NEVER go HERE again! They should just tear this down. Or make it Museum of The Good Old Day before the 80s. To show are grand/great grandchildren what our movie theaters where like. Bathroom is horrible.. just go to the AMC at the mall up the street or elsewhere, but there.
It looks very 1990s inside but is clean and well kept up with. Theres plenty of parking and the staff is extremely polite. This is a nice theatre!
Showed up for show on Thur. They said they werent having. Having problems. No cars or business, I believe was the problem. I drove from another city to see. They acted like, oh well. ?Returned Saturday & there were 4 couples for the show. The seats were awful, especially for price paid. Probably wont go back.
Nice theater, great sound, relatively clean and decent seats, thankfully not reserved. Only beef I had was forcing folks who bought tickets online to wait with everyone else purchasing comfort food because the ticket attendant did not have a scanner.
One must buy movie tickets @ concession and have to wait as if one is buying a meal from the concession stand. I had no need to buy food yet I had to wait long (20 mins in line) for a small theater with low attendance. Only 2 cashiers and one was not designated for ticket sale.
The theatre we were in was where the seats are on the same level, theyre just at an angle. (Not having to worry about stairs in the dark is nice, but other than that its kind of a bummer) I will say the employees were very nice! Accommodating and went out of the way to make sure we were taken care of. The only reason I put three stars if just how the theatres are set up.
I dont know why theres so many unfavorable reviews as Ive been to this theater multiple times. Its always been clean, a nice cool temperature, slant seating which is an awesome plus for me & makes since as this is a discount AMC. There are matinee prices till 4pm & designated discount day(not sure which as Im a member). There is a good amount of parking & since theres so many jankie reviews, it never has a line. Ive never had a problem with movie quality nor ripped seats which is more than I can say for the hella expensive AMC in the Dallas Mall. I hope you try it out & enjoy. They deserve more business, such nice staff
Its a bit run down and the popcorn etc. was ridiculously priced. The light for the hall was bright and on the entire movie. It did have IT2 which not many theaters had.
Older theater. nice seats. Restrooms were dirty
I used to go to this theater when it was a dollar to see a movie. Now its an AMC and while the AMC brand isnt what it used to be, I was still hoping that once they purchased the theater they would do some upgrades. Sure there is a McGuffines Bar inside now and you can get a zillion flavors of soda come from the touchscreen dispenser but thats about the extent of any upgrades. Over half the drinks in the Coke dispenser werent available, there was no cheese for the nachos and everything in the theater now looks like it sorely needs a fresh coat of paint (not to mention the frowns from the teenagers working behind the counter). Thankfully the picture and sound quality of the theaters is still very good. I only wish is that if AMC calls this a classic theater they would restore it to its former glory.
Not the best seats, but the picture and sound were good.
Went here to watch Knives out. Comfy seats. Cant complain.
Glad it was AMC but need better customer service ref the ticket person and the bathroom need to work
Pretty good. Very nice staff
We went to see toy story4. Theater was clean. Prices were movie prices for snacks. But the slurpee machine was awesome and never ending. And Texas was absolutely hot outside. Nothing better than a great movie with the family and endless slurpees to keep you cool.
I just went to purchase popcorn. Popcorn looked like it was sprinkled in pepper and taste like salt. When brought to their attention management looked up from register and said its just the kettle and looked back down.
Nice and great place not as bad but not what I expected
Very friendly staff, no lines. Popcorn was a little gross but the theater seats were very comfortable. Very nice for a relaxing night
Nice theater, not very busy on a Sunday. The screen had a slight merge line in the middle, but it ended up being hardly noticable after a while. Very nice staff.
Close to my house so its convenient when I want to catch a flick
Classic style slope seating. Good screen size and sound. High back rocker seats although a slight tear in the top center of the screen in auditorium 6
Nice theater a bit small but very clean.
It was gross only went because it was the only place showing a movie my friend and I wanted to see that late. Also it was only about 2 dollars cheaper than theaters with comfortable reclining seats and reserve seating.
Had a great time, enjoyed the movie. A/C level was great, and seating was comfortable.
The attendant at the front was rude and it took forever to get a drink from the bar. When someone did show up, they couldnt get the tap to open with the key so we had to get a bottle. The theater is very old school, definitely no theater seating like other theaters. Brought back memories when I was a child and going to the Starplex, this theater is an old Starplex and its very evident. Would never go to this theater again if someone paid me.
Old, but was not crowded and now has full bar.
It was very good will love to go there again
Parking is ample. Concession offerings are limited. Security needs to be increased in order to minimize free movie showings.
This theatre has sticky floors, mediocre popcorn, and a musty smell. Its one of the few theatres that has open seating. Seats are not particularly comfortable because we have become accustomed to the seats in newer theatres. This theatre has the classic movie snack menu. No meals here, but there is a full bar. Bathrooms are ok.
Its an older theatre so the seating is too close together and really uncomfortable. The rows are even too close. My knees kept hitting the seats as I was trying to get to the center seats. But its a discount theater that has movies a short time after the mainstream showings. So, it is what is is.
Not very well,kept..i worked there not long doing janitorial... They want you to half clean,things...they use the same mop from the bathroom to clean the lobby and movie theatre.... Not very sanitary.. Way below dirty.. And they dont even clean, the trash liners ...also saw knats in the bathroom trash ..kitchen area.. And has roaches...they told me I spent too much cleaning...and they dont clean toilets properly..
This is a review from this past weekday! Do not attend this movie theater! These are the problems I encountered:1. Run down movie theate. Not even the sign works.2. Dirty theater rooms.3. Ran out of food items such as hotdogs, burger sliders and popcorn.4. Ran out of drink items such as lids and straws etc.5. Computer register systems not working.6. Tablets to scan online tickets not working.7. Ticket prices are too expensive, for such an old movie theater. Your better off going to AMC in addison etc.8. Rude and unprofessional employees.
Employees at snack area are friendly. The movie theater is not crowded.
Prices are better yet the chairs are still from when it was starplex.
I was wary because this theater used to be the bad theater. The screen is bright, the sound is large, and the employees are very friendly. The popcorn was fresher than most expensive theaters and the coke machine is self-service. An absolute pleasure to go. I will return.
Needs to improve on customer service. Felt comfortable watching movie. Entrance fee is very affordable
Nice place. Nice people. Better than expected. Quite similar to a movie grill. We arrived early thinking there would be a crowd of some sort but to my surprise everything was perfect. Suitable for children and loungy enough for adults. I will return here soon enough.
Dated but still great for the basic to get popcorn and watch the latest movie without too much foot traffic.
Awesome place for 5 bucks. The theater is old and falling apart but for 5 bucks cant complain. Always plenty of seats, and great customer service. I never had a problem, and it seems that the people that come here want the same thing. A bargain, space and the ability to watch a movie without interruption.
I recommend coming to this one vs the mall AMC. Tons of younger kids at the other location that tend to be pretty chatty at the Friday/Saturday night showings.
Remembering wen starplex own this cinema. aka the 1$ movies . Now they have a bar instead of arcade machines lol
Probably the worst way to pick up online tickets has been invented here. You need to wait 30 mins plus at the concession stand to pick your tickets. In the era of technology this movie hall holds the rare feat of being amongst the worst in ticket pickup experience.
Not crowded. Comfortable seating. Nice food and drinks
We love this theater. It is always empty and inexpensive which makes it great for my family of 6.
Seats are unconfortable after a while specially for little kids, it felt like a rocking chair.
Not the fanciest movie there but good service and ok prices
It was better when it was the dolla movie!!! So we went to watch US, the screen was dark ... All 15 people in the theater couldnt see and basically nominated me to ask the manager to brighten the screen ... Yeah he didnt ... Ill keep my $7.50 from here on out ... They got a bar in there like people actually go for the ambiance ... Naw Im good on this place ... they need to go ahead and tear this place down.
TERRIBLE ! ! A friend and I went to watch a movie. We had complimentary tickets to watch a movie which she gets from her work. She always gets free things at work along with free tickets to the state fare. So we were at starplex and now known as AMC THEATERS. and the young girl didnt know how to take these 2 tickets. She called her manager & the manager came and told us she could not take these tickets because she didnt know how to take those tickets. They were official tickets with the theater logo AND everything. So I will never go back again.
Would be nice if yall would upgrade this cinema. I like it cuz is mostly empty but they just dont clean it and yall charge way more now and still looks the same aprt from a few things. Shameful
Hope to see a movie one day
Nice theater not too busy
I love this theater they have good price tickets. The only thing that sucks about it is they raise the prices and I believe that in raising the prices they should be able to stab someone at the window so you dont have to go wait in line at the concession stand to get your tickets on the other hand I guess its killing two birds with one stone. Best AMC classic movie theater ever made
This place has become nothing but a truck stop!! I wonder what this really brings for business as most truck stops have some extra curricular activities. I would be nice if they would clean up the property especially with it being so close to a school!!!!Just spoke with Brandi (the manager)!! No help from her. Extremely rude and says there is nothing they can do about the situation.
Its ok but they still have sticky floors and moist chairThe weird smell is gone too
They redid the front over and charge you more now why couldnt they do the seats over they are very uncomfortable and raggedy
Just went to go see the movie Anna. The picture quality in theater 4 was horrible. It was dark on one side of the screen and it kept dlixkwrinf the entire movie. I told management and they didnt so anything. This is my first time at this theater and Ill never come back. Im addition it took them 15 min after our movie time to get our tickets as we are A list stubs members and they could not get us our tickets. This was a just a mess
The theater itself was ok. But the movie started late, and there was somethong wrong with the color. We got red bands across the bottem and middlevduringvthe showing. When Ibwent to talk to someone, there wss no one around. I will not be going back.
Lovely place to watch movies.
Clean, comfortable seating, perfect size movie theater.
The restrooms were so dirty, employees were so rude and didnt want to work. Movies started way after scheduled start time. No stock in food. Seats were nearly broken. Horrible experience. I wish I could this place 0 stars
The new seating, with comfy lounge chairs that you can lean back and prop your feet up. I recommend ordering tickets online. You can choose your seats and if you choose the back row its the only aisle, so theres no one right in front of you and you have a clear eye line to the screen.
Cause if you want something to eat all you do is order it and they bring you your food so you dont miss a thing of the movie your watching
I went to see Ready Player One on a Thursday evening. I just have been player one because I was the only person in that theater. I am sure they make their money on the weekends. The pretzel bites were really good! To summarize... Awesome movie... A whole theater to myself... Best movie experience EVER!!! Five Stars!
Nice looking place. Not very crowded. Good customer service really quick!!!!
Not a fancy AMC but you can watch new movies at a cheap price. They have $1 hotdogs and the staff are always nice. I go there very often.
Good place to watch movies
Movie was great.. But the smell n the theater mode. Was very strong.
Great looking movie theater in great staff
Not maintained properly .... they should update their seating arrangements
Love dollar hot dogs.
Slow theater, with old school style non stadium style seats. However seats had good cushions and I left with no discomfort. Lobby had self serve touch screen style soda and slurry, big bonus as for pricy drink they should at least let me refill.
They hardly ever have hot dogs. Besides that, they are awesome.
We went to see, Skyscraper movie.. This location is really clean, restrooms also.. The gentleman that attended us was really polite, we saw the movie, had great sound system stadium seats, you can also rock your baby too, while watching the movie.. I really liked it..
Nice and clean fresh popcorn
Bought some tickets to Spider-Man far from home. The staff was friendly which is always a bonus. Its a noticeably downgraded theater, so dont go in expecting the usual AMC recliner experience. It used to be a dollar movie spot before redbox conered the market. My only gripe was the pricing. The whole point is for it to be cheaper, but the prices differ online and in person. If you buy tickets online you basically get hit with $10 in fees before tax which normally is nbd since you get to reserve your seats, but you wont have reserved seating at this location so even if you buy the tickets in person you still end up paying more for convenience I guess ha. This is a rather strange decision by AMC corporate to directly compete with themselves. The obviously better location is just across the street! You really wont be saving much here. Do your rear end a favor if you plan to go to a long movie and just make the drive, or walk across the street. Dont try and be a cheapskate to save a penny like me. Treat yourself and whoever elses company you enjoy with decent seats at the very least ha.
The theater parking was great. The building is a little old and only a couple of up to date features inside (Coca-cola freestyle machine, online ticket pickup at the counter). The food is extremely expensive. I only got 2 sodas and a popcorn and it was about $18 about the same cost as my tickets. The theater was a little dirty but nothing extreme. Overall the experience was O.K, but there are better theaters around with more amenities.
I love this place and great staff.
Comfy nice. You pay at snack bar.
Hate to see an AMC dirty. I love this theaters but this one is it managed good. Saw Pokemon and kids were complaining they didnt get Pokemon cards. I didnt even know we were suppose to get some. UPDATE- called and asked about the pokemon card issue and they told me to come in and they fixed it. I got my cards and im a happy customer now went from 2 to 3 stars because it needs to be a little cleaner. Good people workinv here and respectful. Just that cleaning needs to be a little better.
Im gonna be very honest, I really wish the old arcade was still there, it was fun but I never played there. Its a bar now and you have to be 21 to drink there. Not that many people there as there used to be, probably because of the times I go. I do like the ICEE, the thing that you have to pay inside is good when the weather is cold or hotThere was a green screen in the middle of the previews before Aquaman
Wellp...I’ve never been here before (to watch a movie) but they do have a homeless dude taking a nap right outside of the main doors. Nobody from inside has checked on him and I honestly thought he was a goner until I saw him wake up to look around a bit (very confused-like I might add) Maybe he’s just a hardcore fan waiting for a brand new movie to premier at midnight? Lol
I went there a couple days ago with my 2 friends and we had wanted to see Annabelle. The man that was standing in the front was being very rude and unprofessional and I would never recommend anybody to go there. I don’t care how cheap the tickets are, the service sucked. The man was very aggressive with my friends and I so we decided that we would just leave because we clearly weren’t welcomed there. That man can go to hell
Theatre needs good cleaning interior needs updating.
Prices are so good I take my family every chance I get. Its kind of rundown and a little dirty sometimes but 20$ for 4 people I can deal with that
I love this theatre. The prices of the tickets are pretty awesome. Usually the movies shown there are movies that other theatres are no longer showing (not new releases). So if you missed a movie during its opening week...dont fret, itll be at amc classic in the next month. Theatre is nice and clean.**edit: This theatre is no longer a dollar theatre. They are now under AMC. Ticket prices have increased significantly. Due to the increase in prices, Im am not a frequent visitor of this theatre any longer.
Dim screen, dated, smelly seats. Audio was good but you could hear other theaters and jets landing at DFW during quiet moments. No dividers between the closely spaced mens urinals. Luckily no one else was at bat because the place was empty on a weeknight. Price is right. If you want a bargain movie experience, this is it.
It was alright for the price. Dont expect too much. Chairs arent so comfortable, but its cheaper then regular AMC, so thats nice. Enjoyed the movie with popcorn!
Very nice staff and new management!! Definitely give them a go for a less expensive movie ticket. Some of the theaters might need a little febreeze but its all good.
Oh my!! This place needs renovating!! The theater we were in smelled. The sound system & picture quality were good. The bathrooms & carpeting were a mess.
Good place to save a couple bucks on new releases.. But prices need to be 5$. For 7.99 For a movie come on. The place needs to be clean and dollar hot dogs gone? Really..
This is clearly an older AMC theater hence the name classic. I bought a a number 1 combo which is a large popcorn and large drink for $12. The butter dispenser didnt work, neither of them. No biggie, they just saved me the extra calories. I walk into theater 1 and Im shocked at how small it is. Theres maybe 15 rows of about 10-15 seats. Not a large theater compared to the newer AMCs Ive been to. I was there to see Alita, Battle Angel on day 2 of its release. My seat still reclined and I was able to reasonably enjoy the movie. Things to note Theater 1 is not stadium seating and the armrest do not raise up, but at least there are still cup holders.
Very reasonable and they have new movies
This place is not worth the price, it used to be a $1 movie theater with 50 cent Tuesdays and everyone I know would go to avoid the high dollar prices at AMC in the Irving mall. They have not even invested in cleaning the show rooms or installing new seating which makes it that much more insulting. I frequent AMC for big box movies but I am not a fan of this corporate greed move. It was worth $1 to overlook the old smell and less than perfect seating, but raise the price and the standards must evolve as well.
Old. Old theaters, old chairs, old ceilings and old floors. Not very clean. They had to manually start movie and did so before the scheduled start time. I was fortunate enough to have been there early, but felt bad for the few folks who walked in at the scheduled showtime because they missed the first 10-15 minutes.Tickets were cheap and I went because it was within walking distance of my hotel, but given the choice between this and any other theater I would not choose this one.
