Mark, is phenomenal instructor. I have been golfing my whole life, but starting using Mark to see if I could make some progress in my game. Mark has helped me develop a fundamental understanding of the swing and improve in the mental aspect of the game. Marks video presentations and drills following class are a great reference tools for improving when you are not with him.I have been shaving strokes, and feeling much more confident with the club in my hand since working with Mark. On a personal level, Mark is also very enjoyable to spend time with. I would recommend Mark to any level of golfer looking to improve.

Mark is an excellent golf coach. He has helped me to understand my swing and what I need to do to improve. He uses video analysis to help you understand what your swing flaws are. I came to Mark for a simple reason. As a bodyworker, many of my clients are golfers, but I had never golfed before in my life. I wanted to understand more what the experience of golf does in the body, but didn’t want to just walk out on the green and test it as a novice. Ive been working with Mark for over two years and he has taken me from a 25+ handicap down to a 7! He balances being technical, while not giving you too many things to think about at once. I only see him about every 2-3 months now and I am still constantly seeing improvement. If Im having a bad day (or weeks), I love to go back to old videos he sends me and make sure Im not resorting back to old habits. I highly recommend!*I also recommended him to my father-in-law who has now been swinging the clubs much better.

If I could give Mark 6 stars, I would! In November I turned 50 years old and I decided that I was going to treat myself to some new clubs. I had been hitting the same irons for the past 10 years, and thought it might be time for a change. I went to see someone in the area who has a great reputation for club fitting but after 15 minutes of watching my horrible golf swing he asked me to hand the clubs back to him, and that he wouldnt be selling me any clubs that day. Instead he handed me Marks card and told me to go and get some golf lessons! At the time, I was only hitting my 7 iron about 135 yds with no idea where it was going to go. I was making horrible contact with the ball, and I was seriously becoming discouraged. After spending 45 minutes with Mark I was a changed golfer. So much so, that I purchased 4 more lessons with him! I am now hitting my 7 iron 170 yds, and hitting it where I want to! The biggest problem I have now is that I am flying greens from the increased distance (GREAT PROBLEM TO HAVE)! As a result, I went back to the club fitter who couldnt believe my swing change, and who was happy to sell me clubs this time :). I cannot recommend Mark enough!

Getting back into the game I wanted to start off on the right foot. I knew I wanted one on one instruction so I thought I’d give Mark Reid a try. Mark is unbelievably patient and has such great love and knowledge of the game. Mark breaks down the golf swing in very easy to understand parts. His use of video is extremely helpful enabling players to maintain a library of lessons at their finger tips. Mark Reid has been giving golf lessons to my three kids for the past year at Strawberry Farms. My oldest is 15 and my youngest is 9. He is extremely patient and makes it fun for the kids. My 16 year old son has been taking lessons from Mark Reid for about a year now. He has played golf as a hobby since he was 5 but never took lessons and never seriously until he could no longer play baseball and decided to try out for the golf team at his high school. He did great for his first serious year but we wanted to give him the tools to be able to instill confidence and make golf something he will enjoy for the rest of his life. We wanted to find someone that would be able to connect with teens and be able to give him positive reinforcement as well as great support in assisting him to become the golfer that he would like to be.Tanner had played baseball for 12 years and had a very strong swing and a good basis of the game of golf but when Mark saw his swing he knew right away that he could play the game no problem and be fairly good but inconsistent at it and that if he continued with the swing he had he would not play for very long because he would end up with injuries. My son had a baseball/golf swing.We have gotten what we were hoping for....a coach with a great positive attitude and an eye to catch and correct the little things in his swing. Tanners swing has improved so much and of course a 12 year habit of swinging a bat cant be corrected easily but he is starting to really look like a golfer....his swing has changed yes...for the better. There are rare instances in life where reality and expectation coincide. Being a pupil of Mark Reid is one of those instances. I have played golf at various levels for over 40 years and my experience with Mark has been the most informative and the most fun. His knowledge of golf and his ability to communicate that knowledge is unsurpassed. I needed a PROFESSIONAL as opposed to just another pro and my experience with Mark has been just that. I have had the pleasure of observing Mark with players of all levels and he has a wonderful ability to meet players at their current ability level and then create a path for improvement- a skill that should not be taken for granted. I had six lessons with Mark over two weeks. He did a great job of identifying the few areas of my full swing that needed improvement and within a few lessons, I was making much more solid contact with the ball. He helped me develop practice routines that I could take away from the course. He also uses video technology really well so that I can review our lesson notes remotely as a reminder of what to focus on. I highly recommend Mark.

I have used three golf coaches and all were good and helped me understand the fundamentals of the game but when your really trying to take your game to the next level then Mark is the man to see. From the first lesson on I knew he was the coach for me! My only regret is not finding him sooner.

Mark has been coaching my son for 2 years. The lessons began just after his freshman season. During that time, he has completely rebuilt his swing. He has transformed it, from a wild, out of control mess, to a short, compact, simple and efficient motion. Based solely the skills Mark has given him, he has gone from an average junior varsity golfer as a freshman, to an all-league varsity golfer as a sophomore, and he is now successfully competing in, and winning junior tournaments. In addition to swing lessons, Mark has regularly had playing lessons with my son, during which Mark gave exceptional information and instruction on course management. These playing lessons, when combined with the much improved swing, have helped to dramatically cut my sons scores. When he began with Mark, my son regularly shot in the 90s. He had never broken 90. Now, he is regularly in the 70s, and occasionally under par. We attribute that vast improvement, to Mark and his instruction.

After searching for a legitimate golf instructor for some time, I was finally recommended to come see Mark at Strawberry Farms. I showed up a little early and Mark started the lesson without any hesitation. He analyzed my swing using a video presentation to display the correct angles of a proper golf swing in comparison to mine, to show how inaccurate and inaffecfive my original swing actually was. After giving me grip, distance, and other general tips, I was starting to hit the ball further with a lot less effort. My wife got me some golf lessons for my birthday this past summer. Im in my mid 40s and Im basically a beginner. Based on reviews we decided to go and meet Mark Reid. After our initial meeting it was an easy decision.I originally had planned for a couple of months of lessons. I had a series of four lessons with video analysis with Mark. Id describe myself as a perpetual advanced beginner, having hit mostly at ranges for most of my life, but never taking it too seriously. I decided to take the next step and start with some lessons from Mark. Im so glad I did! Mark was very patient, yet very analytical in his transformation of my swing. This was enhanced by the video analysis he would post online for my review. After many decades of accumulating and reinforcing bad habits, I essentially have to unlearn, then relearn my swing. Now, however, my swing literally feels like it takes half the effort it used to, while I enjoy greater distance, accuracy, and consistency. What more could you want? I took one of Marks introductory lessons and have been working with him for over a year now. His approach to teaching is effective because he has the ability to communicate his instruction specifically for each student so that its clear and easy to understand. Also, Marks use of video on an outdoor range really helps the student see the instruction in action and how swing changes affect the flight of the golf ball. Ive taken lessons at Golftec (indoor range) and there is no comparison...its essential to be outside on real grass.Overall, Marks instruction has greatly improved and refined all areas of my game so that I am a much more consistent player. At 65 I wasnt getting younger and stronger and know I needed to develop better much better swing mechanics if I wanted to continue to score well and enjoy the game of golf. My 11 year old son has been taking lessons from Mark for almost a year. My son has been playing golf for about 3 years and has had 2 other instructors. Mark has cleaned up my sons swing; its more compact and consistent. Hes less jumpy as well. Mark does a great job analyzing and problem solving and coming up with unique ways for the student to internalize the changes. He is easy going and treats juniors as real golfers (i.e., doesnt talk down to them or over their heads). My son regularly places in the top-5 in his age group in SCPGA Junior Tour tournaments.

Mark is amazing and this review is long overdue. We meet every Saturday at 10am and my swing gets better each week and many times I have breakthroughs on the spot! I just started playing a year ago and I went through two other instructors before Mark. The first one was not analytical enough. The 2nd one did not use video. Mark is both analytical and uses video. He will film a shot or two of yours and in 60 seconds you are viewing it on his monitor during the lesson. This back and forth between swing, watching, correction, and back to swing goes on the whole hour. Then a few days later you get the video showing your lesson with his voice in the background all while he is doing slow motion, split screens with you against pros, and his color writing tools drawing on the screen where you need to improve, etc. LOVE IT!

My golf game has always been erratic, with bursts of birdies and pars followed up with doubles and triples. Four and a half hours of Jekyll and Hyde, not knowing which golfer was going to be playing the next shot.Working with Mark over the past 2 years has brought a new swing, consistency and most importantly, an understanding of my golf shots. In years past, I would find myself lost on the golf course trying to fix my swing. With Mark’s effective teaching techniques (both vocal and visual feedback), I can now quickly figure out what I did wrong on a shot and correct it before my next swing.This past weekend, I posted an 80, 7 shots better than my prior low score. The back nine 35 was a culmination of the swing, theory and strategy that Mark has instilled in my game. Im looking forward to getting out for my next round to shoot an even lower score.

Mark is a great instructor and through the aid of video recording, he is able to correct my swing. Through video, he has shown me what I personally perceived and felt during a swing may not be correct by comparing what I thought I was doing with the actual video recording of the swing.

Been shooting in the low 80s for the past year. Breaking that mark has been a challenge and I have gotten to a point of frustration that I wanted to stop playing. I hit the range on a weekly basis working on my swing but I never improved. I could go as DAS as I can by myself; I was in limbo. The worst part was that I know I was at the verge of shooting in the 70s.A friend referred me to Mark. My friend was new to golf when he saw Mark. I was impressed at how solid his fundamentals were. He took the time to fix the swing in my head than the actual physical swing. It was epiphany moment worth 20 green fees shooting 81s.After the lesson I commuted 3 buckets a week for three weeks doing drills. Hard work and working with the right swing coach paid off. I shot the lowest score ever this morning at Riverwalk Mission and Friars. 36 front and 39 back totaling 75. I beat my goal of 79 by 4 strokes and cut down 6 strokes from my average score.Mark is the real deal. I’m a low handicap player who’s taken golf lessons from Mark Reid for about a year and a half. I’ve found him to be a fantastic instructor. He has three qualities that, I feel, set him apart from other golf instructors. First, he has a very effective use of video. Not only does he show the student’s swing on video during each golf lesson, but he compares the swing in real time to the swings of top players (Ernie Els, Tiger, Michelle Wie, Trevor Immelman, etc.). It’s extremely helpful for me to see my swing side-by-side with these players. Second, Mark is highly knowledgeable about the game of golf. His “eye” for the game is exceptional – it’s quick and seemingly all-knowing. Third, Mark has shown a very strong commitment to my game (and I believe the games of all his students). For example, he takes the time after the golf lesson to do a video summary of the lesson, carefully pointing out what was discussed, and giving reminders of what to work on. I can look at these videos months later and see my progress. They’re incredibly helpful.I’ve had a great experience with Mark, and I’d highly recommend him for golf instruction.

Quality ExcellentI have been playing golf for over 40 years, but shoulder surgery and two knee arthroscopies coupled with the years have not been kind to my golf game. I became aware of Mark Reid when my wife was on the West Coast for 15 months with a large development project. Despite the best intentions our schedules never seem to line up. Finally out of desperation between lessons Mark said Ive got about 10 minutes, let me take a look at your swing. In the 10 minutes we spent together Mark made insights regarding my golf swing that people who I spent a couple sessions with had not made. I recently had a chance to spend a couple hours over two days with Mark. He has a remarkable eye for nuance. Having played so long and looked at my swing many times on video I did not need someone to tell me obvious things like I was coming off the ball or getting across the line. Unfortunately locally that was much of what I was hearing. Mark has the ability to look upstream and very quickly see what is causing you to get into bad positions. Without this insight, you will constantly be fighting the tendency to make the same mistakes. Based on a lot of concepts such as trying to maintain “width” in my golf swing and not getting the club inside too fast I had developed a swing that had no width and was completely disconnected. Mark gave me the very tangible keys to develop a more compact, tighter golf swing that paradoxically had more width. He helped me understand how I should feel tension in my right arm in the back swing to maintain the connection with my left. This has helped me shorten my swing, and this tension represents the coil/energy that can be released in a more powerful, aggressive golf swing. Even if I get too long with my swing, which has been a chronic problem, I am generally still on plane and make more solid contact. I am no longer getting too steep and hitting the weak high cuts that end up wet or worse. With this new swing I have been able to eliminate the right side of the golf course with all my misses being down the left side. Mark is the ideal instructor for someone who wants to devote time to becoming a better player. He will not simply “make the best of what youve got” as seems to be a popular tagline for many instructors. I can groove a bad swing on my own with enough practice, who wants to work to that end? Mark will absolutely make you a better player and I am enjoying golf now more than I have in at least a decade. I will be going on my first golf trip in three years with the guys as I had to take a hiatus for the above-mentioned surgeries. I have gotten a lot of grief about it and am very much looking forward to unleashing this new golf swing on the unsuspecting masses. With Marks help, I do not even anticipate having to bring my wallet. I could not recommend him more highly.
