This is like a semi-fancy diner. The decor is great and pretty yet so casual. The food was great including the potato pancakes with its wonderful crispy edges. Coffee was OK but the OJ was wonderful.Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. She was AWESOME!

It was very dead when we walked in and yet we were still sat by the door. We were freezing threw our entire meal. It took over 45 minutes to get our food. There was a hair on my plate. Our waitress barely paid attention to us and there were between 2 and 5 servers at the hostess stand at any given time. We were seated 10 feet away from the hostess stand. The food was fantastic. Everything tasted wonderful made gluten free and/or keto friendly. But the sevice was poor enough I probably wont be back.*update*Turns out the pancakes were not gluten free. My friend has been sick since we left the restaurant. The owners did reply to my comment but that does not fix the cooks and/or waitress error that has made someone physically ill.

Ive been told by locals if you want great food, go-to Smittys, so its been on my bucket list for a few months now. I really wanted breakfast, and coming here, I was certainly not disappointed! This is not a skimpy breakfast, so bring your appetite! I went for the chicken fried steak and eggs, and it was delicious! Its exactly how I had always dreamed chicken fried steak, eggs, hash browns should be. The waitress was amazingly efficient and kind. The coffee tasted great. It wasnt terribly busy, which I appreciated. Thank you for feeding me like a queen that day, my new favorite place in Idaho Falls.

The food and service was great and I really liked the updates to this long time Idaho Falls restaurant. This was my first time visiting Smittys in a couple of years but it was better than I remembered it. If you havent been to Smittys in a while I would recommend trying it out again.

Food was ok not as good as I thought they would be. I ordered pancakes and they brought hash browns and toast then drop me the pancakes and they werent cooked all the way. The omelette wasnt as good as I thought it would be. The waitresses and the workers were really friendly and on top of things

The food and employees were ABSOLUTLY amazing! My husbands order was all wrong but, it was still a very good omlet! We didnt complain to have it fixed. They were pretty busy over labor day. We really did enjoy our overall experience at Smittys!

The atmosphere is really nice inside. I loved that my fries were homemade. The burger was big and delicious. We had German pancakes for dessert because what restaurant sells German pancakes anymore? They were great! Will be back!

Smittys is our goto breakfast/brunch destination meal stop...no matter appointments are generally on the opposite end of town. The manager is phenomenal, and his staff works hard. If the food isnt absolutely perfect, they will go the extra mile to make it right. Atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. If you are waiting to be seated, the wait is worth your while.

Smittys is back in a modern yet still old-fashioned style. The menu has many great items to choose from. Great breakfast, served all day long.

Excellent food!! Definitely the best breakfast in Idaho falls! I had the pancakes and they were delish! We came as a large group to celebrate my son’s first birthday and had a great time. The owner came over and thanked us for coming and wished him a happy birthday. Very nice and genuine guy! Atmosphere was good, remodel looks great! Staff friendly! Couldn’t ask for more. Well done! We like the decor here and the food is really good, food, hot served with a smile. We had a nice waitress named Tammy, she was sweet and so friendly. She was speedy, too. This is one of those rare places where the amount of food you get it actually larger than what it looks like in the picture lol. I was seriously blown away with the quality of the food as well. The entire time we were there, our only conversation was about our surprise in the taste of the food. It was so good! I got a burger and a plate of pancakes (I couldn’t decide between breakfast or dinner) as I was anticipating a much smaller amount of food just because of experience at other restaurants. Didn’t even come close to finishing it at the restaurant but that honestly made me excited that I’d have more for later! I’ve been trying to find a reason to make the 40 minute trip again and go back ever since. Definitely a 5 star in my book.

Ive been coming here annually for 36 years (I dont live in the area, only pass through). Its my favorite place!! The worst thing about it is that its really hard to decide what to get because everything is SO GOOD. We had to get our food as take out this year (travel complication) and they made sure we had everything we could need. They remodeled and it looks great. As always, good was amazing, service was fantastic and friendly. If I lived here, Id eat here constantly!

Well, it was 9ur first time there. The wait we didnt mind, our waiter was awsome! Always making sure if we needed anything, and the boss was amazing! Gave us half price due to the wait. The food was so delicious we will definitely go back. We highly recommend this place. Us coming all the way from Burley Idaho it was worth it!

I heard Smittys had gone through a dark chapter and many complained about how bad the food and service was. However, my experience was great! The food and service were both top tier. They have really improved their game and made themselves an Idaho Falls icon again. Definitely worth going back again and again.

The remodeling was only part of the problems. We got to the restaurant and then spent 10 mins waiting for in the lobby with no one to greet us. Then we waited for our drinks. Once the food was ordered it was 39 mins.The food was luke warm at best.Same old Smittys shannaginnans.Also the mask go over the nose and mouth not one or the other.Most girls are wearing leggings which shows off there panties. Not a women friendly place at all.Wont be returning.

We have been fans of Smittys for a long time. We love the new interior. The renovations updated the space without taking away the vibe of Smittys. We had a large group come in this morning. The GM was amazing to accommodate us. The waitress was polite and attentive. The food was still as we remembered it. Everyone left with smiles on their faces and a happy belly.

Food is amazing and waitresses are sweet and u understanding. And also tbey get your food out to you pretty quickly even when buisy.

Even though the place had carpet, it didnt smell at all.The service was wonderful, our hostess and waitress delivered great service. I ordered The Everything Omelette which was really good and filling. I couldnt get through half of it so its definitely one of those plates you should share if you dont eat a lot. So if you drop by definitely try the omelette it wont disappoint you!

The chicken fried steak is excellent! The mashed potatoes were yummy and homemade! The French fries are hand cut deliciousness! Service was excellent!

What did I enjoy about this place the most? The atmosphere. It was a throwback to my childhood when we would get a rare meal at a family restaurant with cozy (retro) decor and a nice waitress. Our server was friendly and had great recommendations for our breakfast (chicken and waffle plate was hot and delicious). We will come back someday soon!

Went here with family from out of town. There were 4 adults and two children. At 11:21 am we placed our orders. I had only 2 cups of coffee and had to ask twice for a refill. We never were checked on before receiving order. We finally received our order at 12:01 pm. The hashbrowns sucked. It was more like mash potatoes. The were over medium, instead of over easy. After we received out order then we were checked on regularly. The waitress was still not coming with coffee to refill and I was done asking. I rate a 3 because Ive had great service and meals here before. Now keep in mind I have not been hear for almost a year. The prices are okay. The portions do not reflect the prices. Other places gives you better portions for the price. I will let some time go by and give this another shot and write another review.

A must-go spot! Everything we had was amazing including the pork chop with applesauce (not pictured). The staff were beyond helpful and even though we went on a Thursday, the fact that they honor our military every Friday is always cause for patronage in our book.
