The beach is beautiful and clean. Lovely place for a family day. The water was so clear that my husband and daughter were looking for on the sea floor. They both swim very well. The water temp and weather was perfect. The waves were calm so my husband could float with no flotation device. We are use to Jalama beach waters which are ice cold and the tide is hard. So the water here felt great to all of us and was easy to swim in even my son was out there and he isnt much of a swimmer.

The water was clean and didnt have that awful smell that popular beaches sometimes have. Go a bit south of the pier and enjoy less busy beaches and more room to set up for the day. We chose to get there early Saturday and spend 5+ hours there and it never got packed and enjoyed watching the surfers all morning. Fun picking up shells and left before it got over crowded. Cant wait to be back.

I came surfing here and out of all the places I’ve surged at, this spot is really good. It’s just outside the crowds of Huntington Beach where all the aggressive competitive surfer are so you won’t have to worry about any of that. The parking here is great, so many places available and the price to park is respectable. The price isn’t steep and the parking is plentiful, the waves are beautiful and it’s genuinely a clean beach

It is a beautiful beach. The only down side is when it is nightfall and the air is pungent with the smell of gas (since there are many oil refineries nearby). Still a wonderful place to be, especially when you help it stay clean (pick up your trash).

Love Huntington.....BUT should have special line for PASS HOLDERS... exact cash versus debt cards etc. 1 line open with the ability to have 2 is kind of inefficient to keep line moving. Or maybe have PASS HOLDERS ONLY enter off BROOKHURST.... something to be quicker on busy days/times/weekends/holidays etc...

Parking is pricey, but its always worth it. From living here to just visiting for a day - the memories are always worth it. And hey, if youre not a beach kind of person you can always feed bird seed (not bread) to the ducks/geese in Central Park not far from the beach. Just remember to social distance! I know it may not seem too important because were all outside but it really does count.

I love coming to Huntington State Beach. I feel its cleaner than the City Beach next door. I always see crews driving around cleaning the restrooms. Theres plenty of parking and you can buy a year pass to use at other State Beaches. If you want a fire pit be sure to grab one early in the day. You may find food trucks here people giving surfing lessons etc. Snack bars are open on busy days. This is a great place to spend the day.

This is our neighborhood beach. We live blocks away and go here regularly. This is a big beautiful beach. There are concession stands for food and rentals of bicycles, surfboards, bogey boards, Surreys and many other rentals. There are reasonably clean restrooms, fire pits, volleyball nets, showers and Lifeguard towers all along the Beach. There is plenty of parking and handicapped parking available. There are shops and restaurants near and on the pier. Excellent beach!

The beach was clean. There were not many people there, but that was probably due to Covid-19. One of the bathrooms was open and it wasnt too bad considering it was a beach bathroom! There should probably be more sanitizer or soap available to the public. I saw the sunset and it was breathtaking! Parking was $15 for the day even if you arrive late. I love that there are walkways all the way to the water just in case you cant or dont want to walk through the sand. Its nice for strollers, bikes etc. No pets are allowed on the beach.

Great beach for bonfires and lazy summer days. The beach opens at 6am so if you want a fire pit I’d recommend getting here early. My friends and I got her on a Saturday at 7:30am and about 1/3 of the pits were already taken, by 10am they were all occupied. The beach can feel a little crowded in the evenings with all the people grilling but the old fashioned beach fire pit feel is definitely worth it. My only complaint is that I wish they were open past 10pm.

So many memories on this beach and it’s still huge and clean with some of the best shopping and food in Southern California. As a Las Vegas native it’s an easy 4 1/2 hour Wednesday early morning drive then at sunrise surf is on! We’re Normally able to make it home before sunset. However if we catch a drink most of the hotels run good 1/2 day specials if you’re not to picky about the room.

Great spot to surf a south southwest swell, NW winds REALLY hook it up for nice long consistent sets. For newbies check out Bolsa Chica just a few miles north on PCH.
