What a treasure this park is to the city of Houston. I have been wanting to come and see this place for years. My cousin and I rented bicycles and enjoyed a leisurely ride down the Bayou. Saw areas of downtown from a totally new perspective. Enjoyed unusual art along the pathways. Loved the open green spaces for families, romantic picnics and private celebrations - witnesses ALL of these events as we rode through the park. This is a place I will return to again and again- at every opportunity.
I have been going to this park for over a month now, I go early in the morning and evenings as well just for a walk, very peaceful every day and night.Excellent to go walking, jogging, cycling, for a picnic or just to relax, it also has great views and it is dog friendly, easy to park for free or $1 for 3 hours, you can also find bicycles for rent, close to many good restaurants and much more...
This is the best place to come with family, friends, and even girlfriend or boyfriend. Its super beautiful at night and during the day. It has been a full moon since yesterday and every night I go its just breath taking and super peaceful. Itll be a perfect spot for a picnic hang out with the family, play games, and other things.Hopefully you get to go and have fun. Also if anyone loves dogs, bicycle ride, running or exercising this a place to where you can do all of that. For the skaters theres a skating park next to it (super close) and its super pretty.Have fun!!
I love walking here, great for working out, picnics, dates, alone time. etc. kid friendly, lots of parents work out with their kids. bike and skateboard trails and park too.watching the bats leave under the bridge was pretty awesome too.. get there before the sunsets to watch
I really love this park! Its a beautiful green space in the middle of the city. Parking can be tricky, but its worth it! Great walking / biking trails and a nice (and big!) dog park. I cant wait to go back and see the bat bridge.
My favorite place in Houston to go for a walk. Any time of day is beautiful and sometimes you can catch live music at night. The views if downtown are breathtaking.
Have been hitting this park a lot recently to cycle. It is one of my favourite parks to cycle in Houston, however I wish the Houston Parks and Recreation Department were more strict a about this park’s pathways. So many people walk on the cycling trail which makes it incredible hard for us cyclists to navigate around, specially when the bcycle bikes bell is not loud enough to hear when used. This hurts my time as I tend to maintain a certain speed during my runs. There is a walking trail available for walkers to use but they don’t seem to care and continue to use the cycling trail to walk because no one tells anything. It’s honestly quite dangerous for both cyclist and walkers as this path is also used for electric motorist. There’s should definitely be stronger encouragement from the park owners to reiterate the park rules.
Its a huge place! I might bring a bike next time or a scooter. You can kayak too just have to find a spot to put it in the water. I have seen people fishing even at night. Downtown is just around the area. Some parts of the parks are closed due to Covid19. Some bikes are not available when i came so might be a good idea to bring your own specially if you want to go further down the west side of it. Lots of performers too. Ive seen people play volleyball but it dont have a net because social distancing lol but people always find their way around. Other than that its a great place to relax and relieve stress!
This is an absolutely amazing park to come to by yourself or with a crowd or on a date or family! My kiddos & I absolutely enjoyed this park. It was our first time here & completely fell in love with this park. The walking trails are incredible, the scenery is breath taking. There was not a bad place in this entire park. It is our absolute favorite place to be now!!! A definite must go for tourist or our local H-Town people to go to!!
I could go here every day, if I lived closer. I loved all the trails and at times I felt like I was in the woods rather than the middle of a major city. You can forget where you parked very easily, so have a plan that will help you remember where you parked. I say this because I am guilty of it. I walked right past my friends car twice.
Incredible view. Super place for going jogging! There is a skating park. I saw a lot of people riding bikes. We were walking after the rain. This place requires constant maintenance to prevent soil erosion. It looks like the land lord is trying its best. However, there are some problems.Anyway, its a great place to visit!
Loved it and the beautiful weather we have been having lately just adds brilliance to all the colors. This morning was just the tip of the iceberg. I know there is tons more there to see and explore!
Great Urban park with tons of trails along Buffalo Bayou. Plenty of parking along the park or on side streets. The park unfortunately does not connect directly to Memorial Park. Lots of activities possible - walking, running, biking, skate park, picnicking, and more. The bat colony under Waugh is particularly unique and best seen at evening.
Top 5 parks in Houston. The frequencies here are high, top 3 in that regards. Its beautiful with the Houston skyline sitting in background and running throughout feels never ending.
Amazing park. Walk, run, skate, or bike. Plenty of scenery so you wont get bored.
This is awesome park, with full of activity options in it. Ideal place either for walking, running, cycling or just to relax. There are many paths from easy to difficult you can choose. Bike rental is available. Near downton and easy to access. Parking is limited, so prepare to spend some time to find other places to park if coming in the afternoon especially.
I love walking these trails. Keep an eye on the bicycles coming behind you, some people arent courteous enough to warn you. However, morning, noon, or evening, its worth the walk or run.
Awesome park! Reminds me of Zilker in Austin. But it is super long. So if you are planning on walking. It will take a while. Running as well. Biking felt perfect. Awesome views and plenty of green space to picnic and relax. Is it safe? It is Houston. I wouldn’t recommend almost anywhere in Houston after hours.
Love going for walks/runs at Buffalo Bayou. It’s always clean and well taken care of. There are very limited stops for water or restroom breaks, go prepared. Plenty of places to stop and enjoy the views! I’m still always in awe that this is in the middle of Houston.
Quite a large park with numerous trail. A lot of parking spots. But on weekends, hard to get a parking spot. The natural view, a smooth walking and biking trail, the uprising skyscraper view and many artistic sculptures are the main attractions of this place.
Its always nice to get out and see new things. This park is well maintained and good for walking or bike riding. There is not a lot of shade though.
Huge park with fun sculptures! The bat ridge is amazing! Our favorite place in Houston!
I came her either my boyfriend a few weeks ago, and the weather was absolutely perfect. There was a large trail to walk through and lots to see along the way. There’s even a small restaurant inside the park that offers breakfast foods. They have several art displays/sculptures within the park and a huge field to play on. There’s also a lost lake and small garden area. They also have a few bridges and big fields. It’s perfect if you want to get out the house and have a small adventure that really shows a good view of Houston. Many people go there to jog and ride bikes along the trails, but make note of where you park. It is easy to get lost on your way back to the car. They do have an app with a map/guide of the park and several poster points around too.
Beautiful gorgeous park to enjoy anytime with the family!!
Scenery is amazing. Nature Walks in this park are absolutely THE BEST!
Omg what a way to speed the day with family! After such a wonderful THANKSGIVING meal. We went and had a blast here at the park. So many things to do. From renting bikes to walking the trail to even kayaking. Most importantly spending time with family.
Awesome park with plenty of trails to walk. I highly recommend walking here at sunset. The blend of urban downtown with the nature creates some awesome chances to take pictures and a unique contrast of downtown and nature.
Great trail, huge loop could spend all day walking it, or go back several times & walk a new area, nice scenery, great way to get some exercise, pretty birds & flowers, nice views of the skyline. Basically just a nice pathway to walk, & view the city.Urban atmosphere, if youre looking for a large, deep natural area, to really get lost in seclusion & explore nature...this isnt the best place to go, the green grassy part is just a very thin strip running along the path. But again, its a super fun trail if you just want to walk/bike/run/dog walk, with beautiful views of Houston, highly recommend checking it out!
Down town Houston is the back drop. This place is incredible
Its so beautiful. Im from Dallas and we do not have a location like this that I know of. All the art displayed throughout is what attracted me to visit this park.
Great park. Just dont enter that parking trap on Allen Parkway during peak hours or youll be there forever
We parked across Memorial Dr. Took the bridge over the street, arrived to some beautiful trails. This particular day was full of people along the trails even the dog park. We saw snake and bats. I didnt like people on bikes were riding way to fast amongst those walking.Amazing scenary.
It’s funny. I’ve lived in the Houston area all my life and still when I visit the inner city I feel like I’m on vacation. This park is well kept, tons of cool history spots. Sweet skatepark, and beautiful city scenery.Great place for kids and families, lovers, friendships, and all the in-between.The place is inspirational.
Sprawling park with lots of paths and trails to take. Friendly for walkers and cyclists. Nice views of the city as well as feeling a bit isolated.
I always enjoy this park. Best thing is that I can pay for parking throug my phone :)
Excellent hike and bike trail along with a fenced dog park and a bridge that houses Mexican fruit bats. They keep our bug (mosquito) population under control!
One of the best parks in Central Houston. Good for walks, biking, exercise, taking pictures. Theres dogs park, tons of benches, fountain, statues and more cool stuff. Very green.. Always clean and well kept.
Cool little spot on the bayou. I will say you need to be prepared for your dog to get real dirty as it is mostly dirt and can be quite muddy at times. It is pretty busy most of the time though, which is nice for the dogs.
Love my bike rides throughout all the trails along Buffalo Bayou and Allen Parkway. May be crowded at times, but nothing like a few dodging here and there to catch some of the best views of the downtown skyline! #boomboom713 #roadbikelife #trail.life #htownskyline
Nice place to walk around. It was a nice day out. Beautiful park.
Great park! Excellent trails with a view of downtown Houston with plenty of interesting things to discover along the way. Two great dog parks with swimming pool for your pooch. Whats not to love about this place?
HTOWN good have me breathing HTOWN bad tried to kill me
This free city dog park does well for small and big dogs by offering different areas for each. The large-dog park has a man made small lake for them to run and jump in and swim. Both parks have dog bags to pick up your dogs #2s, water fountains for your pups and even pavilions to catch some shade on a sunny day. There arent any bathrooms offered, so plan ahead. All in all, this is one of our favorite dog parks to take our little buddy to.
This is my favorite park in Houston. Nice, long trails. Beautiful view of the skyline. Well kept and clean. It’s a perfect place to have a picnic or walk around with your pup.
Very beautiful park. Lots of people running and walking dogs, very larger area to run walk or ride a bike. Beautiful dark park and nice restaurant at the end of the park.
The Buffalo bayou trail is the best thing in Houston! Theyve put a lot money into the trails, parks, and surrounding area in the last few years. Absolutely love riding my bike along it. It connects easily to downtown, midtown, wash, etc which it makes it easy for inner loopers to just ride from there house. The views of the Houston skyline are great. Theyve added a bunch of art pieces. Lots of open grass areas to chill, picnic, or play sports.
It is very relaxing and fun to walk and explore with family. Parts of the park are still under construction, and areas may be closed to you at different areas day to day.
Beautiful park!! Great for bike riding, running, walking or just a day out on the greens!
Great park, but theres one bridge that seems invested with bats currently and makes that whole area smell like a fountain of piss.
Buffalo Bayou a beautiful place, very peaceful and a great place for any kind of outdoor activities, Buffalo Bayou Park includes beautiful gardens and native landscaping; hike and bike trails; paddle craft and bike rentals; the go-to dog park in the city; public art; a creative nature play area; two visitor centers; and gathering places for visitors to picnic, relax and enjoy outdoor activities.
This park is one of the best improvements the City ever made! It makes urban commuting possible for me. Love living in the urban core of Houston
Probably the 2nd best park in Houston to go run. It’s free parking after 7 and it does get a little packed however, I go mostly for walking and running so it’s great.
Very open and not too crowded! Felt safe walking there even at night
Its a really good park for picnics and working out!
One if the Loomout points on the trails. Allowed activities bike riding, walking, running, and skating. You can cross several bridges and theres water features. You have to check for yourself.
Beautiful views of the city, lovely views of nature️ all intertwined for an enchanting place in to visit in the heart of Houston.
My favorite park in town. A good place for biking. And there are some nice cool spots to see.
Amazing. With some gorgeous sights of downtown but a lush very nature picturesque setting its about the best of both worlds. The Waugh bridge bat colony thats come out every night a little after sunset and are a real sight to behold. Thousands upon thousands of them suddenly stream out black strand you wont know what it is if youre not looking for it but when you know its just utterly fascinating. You can watch the Hawks dive to try to catch bats see how their sonar allows them to navigate the high-rise buildings. The added luxury of being next to a bat colony is the distinctive lack of mosquitoes compared to any other Houston area. its really just a lovely place to go for a walk or a bike ride and just enjoy the outdoors. Our favorite spot for bat watching is across the street catty corner.
I great place to go exercise and enjoy friends. Dont like the tickets being passed out like Halloween candy, because theres not a lot of parking spaces.
HUGE area to exercise, meditate, relax, or whatever! I really enjoyed my walk there.
My kids enjoy this trail. Great place to get out and enjoy Houston weather.
Beautiful park along the bayou. Its well taken care of and clean. Perfect for jogging, riding your bike, hiking and walking your dog.Buffalo Bayou Park offers something for everyone. You can find a nice dog park, a Bat Colony under Waugh Bridge, plenty of sculptures and much more.this park has quite a few neat photo opps, from fantastic views of the Houston skyline, arts projects to nature shots.
Beautiful scenery!!! Perfect for a family walk or couples walk during the night or day!! Very well cleaned and kept up!!
Great place for outside activities. Beautiful views.
5 mile hike with kids was amazing. Been here long enough with out exploring this beauty!!
Good for Playing with childrens, Cycling, Walking, Fresh Air
I love this park, 12 years ago I lived just across for 3 years. Safe, clean and green with great views of downtown. One of the best and the longest walking areas in Houston from the Wortham fountain at Waugh until downtown about 3 miles round trip.I just wish the cars were further to avoid noise and pollution. It floods for weeks during Hurricanes
Large park with full of activities. You can go for a run or bike ride. I also saw some people ridding small boats in the Buffalo Bayou river.
Great park! We use it a lot as we live next to it. Missing the 5th star due to traffic noise, which is very loud certain places.
Murky water but really a nice, large park. Majority is a mulched(?) large area with a circular path to walk around. Nice scenery. Only one dog washing station.
Awesome park with great views! Loved the statues!
Gorgeous park in Houston; a must-see for anyone visiting!
Beautiful outdoor space with winding trails, dog parks, fountains and other attractions in the heart of the city
Great walking trail and bike trail. Excellent for City scape pics too. Simply must do when visiting Houston.
Good place for exercise, walking, jogging and cycling.
Nice big park and was able to really enjoy myself here. Did a photo shoot here and it was awesome!
The downtown views are one of my favorite things about this park! A peaceful place during the week where is not too crowded.
Beautiful park ... its a nice place to spend the day...
One of Houstons finest lung spaces with great views of the Downtown skyline. I have a standard 3 mile loop that I do virtually every day - run, walk or bike. There is also the handy b-cycle rental which makes it easy for visitors to rent and bike the trail. The park is well lit, so you can still do these things after dark. The park was badly impacted by Harvey and is still recovering.
Well maintained, great little walking trails and super views of Houston skyscrapers
The bat bridge was a little smelly but still very interesting. Great place to get out during dusk after the heat breaks. Beautiful water fountains/sculptures.
Big & beautiful park right outside downtown with a great view of the sky line
Everybody and there mama gos their these days. It wouldnt be so bad if the people that are walking and jogging used correct trail. The tar trail is for walking and jogging..! The concrete is for bikes. Obviously there are some parts of the trail you have to use because of construction.
Beautiful park for a long walk or a quick stroll.
As a residence of Houston, I guess it is quite good park for workout, picnic, or relax. As a visitor, however, i think... it is not really bad but one thing I had problem was to find out a parking lot because there is no specific sign or notice about a parking policy.
Great green space in the middle of Houston! Well marked trails are paved and follow the waterway. Maps are located at frequent locations.
My family goes here all the time especially in the evening. Theres great scenery, a nice walking trail and even a bat bridge if youre feeling adventurous. Its a great place to get in a walk or run. There are even trailers specifically for walkers and there is always something new to see. Just the people watching alone makes it worth it. Houston is a varied bunch.
Thoroughly enjoyed visiting this park. We visited the water works and the skateboard area. Got some great views of the downtown skyline. Parking in Lot H was free on sunday.
Amazing trails ️
Didn’t navigate much of the park, but there was a decent view of downtown that was pretty nice. Monument at the front of the park was neat and had some elevated and underground portions to it. There’s also a creek/river on the side, but was solid brown. Nice for looking, but probably wouldn’t have been great for swimming.
