We had the best guided tour. I was pleasantly surprised at the extensive history lesson. I was just expecting to wander through and look at jeeps, tanks, trucks and uniforms. I highly recommend this place. Well worth the admission and give them a little donation as well. They do good stuff.
It is a great place to visit. There is so much history there and it is fun for the whole family.
When I saw this place I thought that it wouldnt be a very good idea, but boy was I wrong. It was quite interesting to say the least. The young man that took us around was very friendly and informative. Vehicles there are in different stages of restoration from needing major restoration to completely restored and operating.
I wasn’t sure if we were at the right place as it looks small from the road but seeing the Panhard EBR in the parking lot we knew this was it. Once inside we met a knowledgeable staff member who showed us around. Walking into the vehicle area we found a lot of pristine Vietnam and WWII era vehicles, some rare ones too such as the M114 and M901. Out back we checked out the M60 Battle Tank and an M42 Duster. Well worth it!
An amazing experience, staff is nice, and the atmosphere is great. I recommend visiting here, though it is out of the way for a lot of people. You cant miss it when youre there though, youll know when you see it.
Great personal tour guide did well with an 8 year old. Its mostly outside.
Called and heard hours. Went there during and no one was there. Really upset since we were visiting and drove 45 minutes from our hotel just to see it was closed. Saw other reviews saying they experienced the same thing but figured we would try. Open when you say youre suppose to be open!!
All kinds of very cool stuff in there!
Our tour of the Museum was great. The staff was very knowledgeable. The military inventory was amazing and well maintained. They have a German half track that was amazing to see. The facility is a nice stop to see some history and to have a nice military experience.
The museum has lots of interesting military historical pieces. Tour guide was knowledgeable and had interesting stories. Unfortunately, visitors are not allowed to visit the place outside a guided tour. That effectively makes it impossible for little kids to enjoy as they are not going to stay still for 15 minutes in one spot while the tour guide talks about Bastogne. We were told by the tour guide we could wander around on our own. Then a grumpy man in a wheelchair scolded us. After being told that the tour guide said we could, the grumpy man gave us a super dirty look. My three year old was wondering what happened. Very unfortunate. Tour guide then tracked us down and told us that we could no longer walk around on our own. He said his manager said so. We wont be going back there. We will make the 90 minute drive to College Station instead for the GI Museum. Friendlier staff there and more actual tanks.
Very cool place, well equipped with military equipment from WW1 up to today. A really knowledgeable and friendly crew. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and explained the vehicles and events in great detail.*** Call ahead of time before you go there.Small but have a dedicated parking lot.
Great place to visit if you love history and our military! They do a great job of restoring old military equipment to honor the men and women who have served our Country. Such an awesome place to visit! Thank you.
It looks small outside, but it has huge awesome stories. Lots of tanks, helicopters, jeeps, trucks, weapons, uniforms. Each has a story to tell. The guy who toured us is awesome and energetic
Not only does the website undersell the place but with all the vehicles they have and all the projects there is plenty of things to be seen.
Awesome collection of all period war items. Highly recommend!
What started as an idea to kill some time turned into one of my favorite experiences in the Houston area. The tour guide, Holmes (sp?) was informative, shared personal experiences and made civilians feel involved. The place is more robust internally than what is visible from the outside, with lots to see and to learn. Will be coming back next time!
Really neat place to see military equipment. Nice museum.
Preserving lifes military history. Wonderful collection of memorabilia.
Great museum ran by military enthusiasts
Great collection. The staff really know their history on battles and the equipment on display
Great tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable and spent about 2 hours with us. Great start to honoring the lost this Memorial Day.
Excellent displays, many years of history. Knowledgeable Volunteers. Plenty of vehicles and aircraft to look at
Awesome experience and very professional guide.
My dad and I visited the museum on 12/28/18 and really enjoyed the guided tour. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and explained the vehicles in great detail. You should check this place out.
Double checked to see if the Museum was open on a Thursday website said it was; It was not. No sign or message giving a reason either. Son and I were very disappointed.
Run by veterans, restoring a huge range of military equipment. Really passionate people and a very interesting visit
No one was there to open door and sign hung up to call they were in back. No one picked up
Excellent military history. Very personal. Up close, multiple eras, the staff is very nice, and knowledgeable. They are working on getting women veterans artifacts incorporated right now. I cant wait to see what comes in.
DON’T GO! We went on a day the website said it was open, it was not. The parking lot was chained off, but I went by foot to the door. The sign there said exactly the same as the website so it was closed when the sign indicated it was open. On the door was another sign with a telephone number, saying “call this number, we’re at the back.” The number goes to a voicemail. To add insult to injury, the museum is in a out-of-the way location. It is a total insult to the public.
A really knowledgeable and friendly crew. They are great at teaching about military history and the practical uses of military technology today.
Great facility. Its well equipped with military equipment from WW1 up to today. Guided tour was informative. Youll learn a lot of things you didnt know from school. But on the downside, I felt rushed. My tour guide (though a really nice guy) seemed to want to get me thru like fast food. He only showed me what he wanted me to see and would move me along whenever I tried getting a closer look at certain things. I get that they dont want to spend a lot of time showing a single person around. It would have been nice to have been allowed to go back and look around at my own pace after the guided tour. But my tour guide led me straight out the door once he was finished guiding me thru.
Phone message says they are only open Monday through Wednesday. Lots of vehicles parked outside. Will have to come back. Please update hours on Google
Amazing. Get up close and personal with a lot of ex military gear. Personal tours by volunteers who are knowledgeable and connected to the equipment.
Its interesting place.
Th best everything runs and fires
We had a guided tour with kids ranging from preschool to high school. They all enjoyed it!
Call ahead of time and let them know youre coming before you give up like the other reviews prior to mineamazing museum and the staff is hella cool, first time here and I felt like I passed through time with the tour. IT IS GUIDED SO DONT EXPECT TO WALK AROUND ALONE. Most of the museum is a shop but you can feel the age of the vehicles. Really liked the guy who gave me a tour and explained everything awesomely. Will be back when they finish painting the M60.
Officially called The National United States Armed Forces Museum, this is neither national or a Museum. They do have a large collection of military vehicles, well sometimes. Ill explain, the vehicles are constantly changing because most vehicles are privately owned and are stored there for members or are there for repairs. You have to take an incredibly long tour, and if you are unlucky enough; youll get stuck with someone who is full of crazy conspiracy theories more interested in hearing themselves talk rather than conducting a tour. Its HOT, the cool stuff, like tanks and armor are outside in the blazing heat. This is not family friendly in any way shape or form. It would be great for 1 parent and an older kid, but not the family as they will be incredibly bored and hot. You get the sense that they dont want you there, and are only tolerating you to keep their 501 (c) 3 charity status. It is hard to find, trust me, youll drive right by this place as it looks like any other building on Wallisville, cept for the couple military trucks you can see from the road. BUT, if you are alone or with your eldest son, it is worth checking out, just dont touch or stand too close to anything.
Really enjoyed this museum, went there with a group of seinor citizens, the tour was informative and our guide was engaging. Would recommend this place to everyone and anyone interested in learning little bit more about our great military.
Just went by there. I was going to go in, but theyre closed!?!?
One of a kind looks like they can go to battle Everthing mostly runs one of a kind Museum.
Very knowledgeable & interesting.
Awsome, Mr. Sumner was great and they have a ton of info on every thing they have.Had a great time.
Lots of military stuff on display. A bit hard to find.
Not open when phone message and website state they will be. No response even when calling emergency number. Found other family waiting at door - they gave up as well. This is second time this has happened. Last time was day before July 4th, so I gave them another chance (though they never responded to messages that time, either). Seems to be a sham.
Great place very cool place and the tour guide has extensive knowledge of his items
Guided tours by highly knowledgeable and friendly Vets.
Great personal museum where the volunteers give you a tour (and no rush!) every step of the museum. Every question was answered well. From uniforms to weapons and anything moving except for fixed wing aircraft. 4 helicopters on site. Trucks, jeeps, tanks, EVERYTHING. Oh yeah dont forget about the bombs. 10 dollars a person and free tour! Spent hours here.
Great place to go if you are a military lover. It offers a guided tour, and people there are very nice
It was HOT!! Tour guide was knowledgeable.
It was closed... Seems pretty lousy...
The museum lacks of lightOn other hand, it is good for military freaks
Call before you go. I called only get voicemail saying they open till 6pm Saturday. Drove all the way over there arrived at 3:45 with my 16yr son AND THEY ARE CLOSED!
It was a good learning experience.
Not open during started hours

Horrible, i went there and they were closed, PLUS THEY NEVER RESPOND
Good
Honestly.. there is no better place..
Good exhibition and friendly staff
