Its a good challenge. The greens are in good shape, tee boxes werent bad. Fairways a bit bare and like concrete which led to some interesting bounces off the hills. That did mean tee shots rolled on but made approach shots difficult as like hitting of concrete.
Nice layout. 17 and 18 are for very low handicappers.
Great deals on golfing, good design, speedy greens but maintenence of fairways could be better. Bars and other facilities are great
Dissappointed!!!! I use to live in the neighborhood and this was one of my favorite courses to play. Greens were good and true but the fairways need a lot of work (hard dirt in many areas). Staff let me down also. I booked a tee time for 2 on Golfnow. It was a senior rate (both eligible). My buddy got there first, paid his portion and got a cart. I arrived, paid, and asked for a cart key (social distancing). Pro shop said we had to pair up or pay an additional $18 which happened to be the normal rate. If, that is their policy then it should be stated somewhere before booking a round. No other course I know of in the city uncharging for doing what the Mayor asked everyone to do. If either one of us were playing alone, we both would have needed a cart. Bad vibe out the door reflected on the first couple of holes. Bad business in my opinion. Back for the last time, unfortunately.
Challenging course, great value.
Hardest course I ever played in my 30 years. I play for fun. This course every shot has to be near perfect...not for me.
Had a very solid round with my friends today. No complaints. The greens where in great condition. Do yourself a favor though......pay the extra to start your tee time early. ITS HOT!!!!
Nice as far as gold courses go. My friend had a birthday party here. The food they catered was good but their service wasnt outstanding. My friend paid a small fortune for the event and when asked if they could bring salt and pepper for the tables, it never showed up. I normally wouldnt be that put off by that, but for the price, no detail should be left unattended to.
Nice place to golf
$74.25 Saturday golf and a goat ranch would play better!
Great day, not a lot of people on the course.Ir is in excellent shape.
Fast greens. True rolls. Fast fairways. The course is kept up. Challenging layout but who wants easy. Every staff member I encountered were knowledgeable, courteous, and down right awesome. I had date night with the Mrs. and was forced to bail on 13th hole. 4 guys, two carts. No worries. Beer cart girl rocked. I was blessed to catch a ride. I was not too late for date night. Great work Team. Boom
Bad shape right now. Too bad. Nice layout.
Fun Links golf course, challenging and is in good shape. I would highly recommend. Best course for the price.
We stayed here with a friend while working in College Station for 2 months
Great place to play. Everyone is friendly.
Nice layout.
Beautiful course
Have been playing the public course frequently in the last month, used the play all day option on their website which is cheaper than golfnow (taxes are not shown online) but it includes burger drink and chips. Course in solid shape, greens and fairways doing well after recent rain, speed in mornings and afternoons have been ok, can’t speak on twilight. Greens running well, and bunkers should be repaired soon currently still wet or not filled.
Course is great but lack of management of pace of play ruins it. Almost a 6 hour round on a Friday at 10:30. At one point five groups on one hole and even after calling the club house no marshal came out (never saw one) nothing to manage pace. Sad because the course is pretty nice.
Fun course. Seems like a lot of drivers and 6/7 irons to the greens. Over and over
Fun course, good layout. Reasonable price and typically comes with a free lunch. Not always in pristine condition but if you want to play a fun course it’s definitely worth checking out
Great course, kept up very well. Bar or drinks and a bite for right after your round is right next to the clubhouse. Nice patio if your wanting to relax outside with a cold drink.
This was my first time at this venue. They have a private course and a public course. The public course is the Houston National. Ive heard great things about it but was greatly disappointed. Although the staff was great and friendly the maintenance of the course was terrible. All fairways had several large bold spots where there was only hardened dirt and most of the time I had to lay up. The design is challenging and enjoyable if it wasnt for the poor quality of the fairways... to the point that it was better to play from the rough on most holes. The greens were acceptable though. I just think for over $60 I paid as green fee the course should be in a much better condition. This was maybe a $35 maybe $40 course at the most. Unfortunately I dont see any improvements in the near future so I wont be coming back. Hope this helps them to try a little harder.
Very nice venue. The Sidney room is not too small nor too big. Its just the perfect size! The food could have been a been better.
The back deck restaurant and bar is very good. Make sure to ask for Mark he is friendly and creates out of this world drinks. There are alot of good bartenders, in the city and Mark is one of the ones Id say has his stuff down pat!
Great course. Challenging but wide open.
By far my favorite course in the Houston area. It is challenging. Hole 9 on the public course has a water hazard on the right side of the green. Lost my fair share of golf balls there. The greens are fast. The course is well maintained and the staff is very helpful. My favorite holes on the course are 5, 10, and 18.
Course is in decent but not great condition. Positive are the greens roll true although there seems to be a second strain of grass or weed growing in. Bunkers are a disaster and the fairways need some warm dry weather to fill some bare spots. If you can get past the fact youre playing in a neighborhood (houses everywhere) the actual course layout is nice, some nice holes and holding the hard greens is a challenge. Well come back in a month and see how they are doing.
Nice design and overall good condition other than the bunkers..several are deep with water and none of them were raked - for as many bunkers on the course its frustrating that they are unplayable.Did the deal that comes with lunch and the only option is a hot dog..tough for someone who doesnt eat processed meat, so I wish this was disclosed ahead of booking time.Overall good track. A few fairly minor changes would make this a five star experience.
The greens rolled nicely and was able to play in under four hours.
I came to join my son who was playing as a single, was going to play the back nine with him. It was 2:45 and he was coming off 9, I asked if there was a 9 hole rate was told no but I could pay the twilight rate of $36 and we would have to wait until 3 to continue even after I told him there were two foursomes behind him. Wouldnt let me pay the 36 and tee off at 2:50 and stay ahead of the two foursomes. Ended up paying $55 for 9 holes on a dry unkept course. No need to say I will not be returning.
Greens were good but not great a bit slow to me, but over all real good at least where I hit it . But I did get thirsty . I met the cart girl on hole 18 just a bit late. But no big deal. Fairways good as well. Overall good.
Course is in great shape and the greens are really rolling. Enjoyed my round .
Great to play some golf and host parties.
I know the golf course cannot control the weather but today was amazing. Golf course conditions were amazing. The greens are unbelievably good. They are soft they are smooth and they are fast. Today was a good day on this golf course.
Very nice golf course with friendly faces!
The course has a great layout and very challenging. You can’t beat the price with range balls, round of golf, lunch and beer. Easy to get to from Houston
Fabulous and beautiful. I am very pleased with the way they treat you.
Best course lay out in town, unfortunately service in golf shop is very poor
Friendly staff & food service
Fast greens. Played long. Temp never got above 50
Awesome course friendly staff The Canyon Grill has remarkable food
Well kept...fun layout. However they have upped their prices making them a bit expensive
Zero water in the water coolers out on the course. NOT recommended.
Need to upgrade the popcorn machine and some roof tiles.
Kind of weird setup. We were invited to play private coarse but they gave us the golf cart for the public coarse. Everyone made sure to let us know we were playing the wrong coarse even though we weren’t.Private coarse not very challenging and there is no trees or shade to be found anywhere.
Nice course. Not easy, not too hard. Not a very welcoming staff at the clubhouse.
The greens are really good all of the time... and the people there are awesome!
Good links style course
No water. I love it. Better my score by 3 to 4 shots cause of that.
Great golfing, food, drinks, and family fun!
People are friendly and treat you with respect here. Worth getting the membership. 10/10
Greens were in good shape. Fairways were looking good as well.
You have let a diamond get tarnished, very challenging layout, not in the best shape as it was earlier in its lifetime. Please, get this diamond in the rough polished up and back in shape. Please! Please.
2 18 Hole Courses, marshalled on the weekends. Excellent food at both kitchens (Back Deck and The Canyon Grill) contemporary American cuisine.Great place to hold a party if youre a member!
Decent course for the price. Round came with lunch which was a nice plus. Challenging course that had some penalties in play if you took the aggressive line
Great course and staff
Challenging course. Links style. Fast greens. If you can get a coupon at Costco, this is a deal (25 weekday/ 35 weekend).
Very nice links course, considering the price. Greens are always receptive to specific shots. Fairways and tee boxes are always in good shape. Challenging course for the amateur golfer. Tips play over 7300 yds, so bring your A game.
Golf course is in decent shape. They had no tee times until 9 due to them rolling greens prior to play. No problem with that. Well I tee off at 9 am as the first player out on the course and get down to the fairway to see a maintenance man rolling the green. No big deal to me thinking he would let me pass and then roll behind me. Well as the round went on he continued to roll the greens in front of me as I played. It turned what should have been a 2 hour round into 3 1/2. That is piss poor on their behalf. Have the decency to let the players play through. They are who pays your wages
Love me some mark!
Decent golf course and clubhouse
Difficult course. Nice club house. Nice people.
Course is in great shape even after the flood. Kudos to the staff for turning it around.
The course is in pretty good shape June 2017. Great design, pretty fun gulf course.
We did get a social membership to try it out.
This is a beautiful place the service was excellent the food was delicious I had a wonderful time with my friends celebrating one of my friends birthday
Been social members do 4 years. The staff are always friendly and good Especiaal Charlie and Brandi. The mixologist Nick make phenomenal Sangria. Chefrobe Matt has a great menu and the food is cosistantly delicious.
Great doing business with this club.
Expensive. Even in January w dead fairways. Ill try Longwood in the future.
Great club house and course. Has contour, water, mounding, sea breezes making it challenging.
Nice course but the clubhouse was under renovation but was fun.
One of the BEST golf courses in Cypress Texas.
Great course, we had a lot of fun here !
Great deal...lunch is included for a price of 63.00, and its a decent challenging course
STAY AWAY!!!!! Dont waste your time or money here....Houston National is a second rate.....their greens suck....the staff in the pro shop are rude....not gonna spend another dime here....Jersey Meadows and Memorial are better courses with a staff that is not rude to you if you dont have a certain appearance.....maybe I didnt look wealthy enough to play here but my money spends the same elsewhere!!! STAY AWAY!!!!
Has the best weekend special including range balls and lunch.
Challenging and fun...
Course is in good shape. Holes 17 & 18 are ridiculously hard.
Course is still a little bare although they have reseeded the tees. Bunkers were washed out after last weeks rain. Pace of play was slow no marshals out on course.
Marshalls give preference to the members of sterling if they play this course. Example. 5 somes
Challenging golf course, links layout, good 19th hole! Playing there tomorrow!
Beautiful surroundings and the pasta bar nights are awesome.
This course needs an upgrade
Wonderful golf course but when it is windy its very difficult to play.
Enjoyed the variety in holes.
Friendly staff and nice course
Nice Venue for Weddings or other Special Events
The food and golf course were top notch for a public course.
Nice venue. Decent restaurant
Decent fairways and greens. Pace is slow early on the weekends.
This was the first time I went to this golf course about a week ago and the staff is very nice and helpful with everything. I will be returning here with my son and my family members.
Unfortunately dont get to play golf, looked like a nice course,
Excellent tournament facilities
