Absolutely amazing local neighborhood style pub! Easy parking next door which is convenient and safe. The lady made great cocktails. The food is traditional with many twists. Customer service appeared to be a priority. If you’re looking for a place to have a few drinks and be peaceful this is it!

I ordered the fish and chips delivered, especially because I love cod fish, but they over fried the batter and its just not appealing.I really wont be able to finish it. Also, the fries are curly fries not true fish and chips

My top place for tasty Bar food. Dont fret if its busy, it is worth the wait. The service here is above par. Menu is similar to a restaurant in Jacksonville I loved.

Bar food and service here is very good. Entered near ten, it was not crowded. I had a cousin come into town and she asked me to go back here. Kinda of like a restaurant in Los Angeles I liked to visit.

Fantastic atmosphere, food, and staff! it’s not too loud or dark, like some other places are. the staff seem to love their job and are friendly. for food, I got the fish and chips and it came out hot and fresh. the tempura batter was amazing!

Great local pub for food, drinks, occassional music, regular characters, deep cuts playlist. Indoor and outdoor space, even a fireplace indoor AND outdoor. Great as a regular haunt.

If you live in the Montrose area and you like eating good, drinking well, and listening to a stellar music selection then I highly recommend this establishment. Its a clean environment. The staff is professional and kind. I highly recommend trying the garlic knots. Parking is fantastic just make sure dont leave absolutely nothing invisible view. This place reminds me of that movie High Fidelity. Im just an old cat that enjoys good Tunes, excellent beer and liquor elixirs.

Ordered a to-go order of Fish and chips. Expected the usual Fish and chips (aka French fries) like every other place that serves Fish and Chips. Came home to find Fish and thin salty CURLY fries - the ones you get from the frozen section at HEB! Fish was not crispy. It was a thick layer of soft batter. These guys do NOT know the meaning of Fish and Chips. Customer service, do not get me started....

Nice site for tasty Bar food. Arrived at six, it was not packed. The service was very helpful and observant. Prices are decent for the quality. They have a lot of positive reviews for a reason.

Normal everyday Pub. Pizzas were too small for $15. But it was good nonetheless. Lot of pub food.

Not impressed at all, especially they over-charged without telling us the hidden fees. We ordered two orders of Fish & Chips for pick up.Food: Id give it 3.5 out of 5Service & Honesty: 1.5 out of 5 ( watch out for their hidden To-Go fee and they dont tell you)Their online menu says $14 for fish & chips. So we ordered two and nothing else. When we showed up to pay, bill came out $37.88. How is that possible? The man at the bar, who took our payment, said its $16 not $14 per order. I said ok and even gave tips.While driving away, i was thinking even at $16x2 plus tax, that wouldnt be $37.88. So we called the restaurant. Guess what they told us?The restaurant said theres a $0.75 To-Go fee for pick up order. They charged us $1.50 To-Go fee for two orders of fish & chips. In addition, they charged extra $1.50 for tots if you wanted tots instead if fries. They charged us all these without telling us any of these hidden fees.....no itemization on the reciept.If you are willing to pay more than whats shown on the menu( cheating), then ok.

The best Caesar salad dressing EVER. The taste is really amazing. I eat Caeser salads often and the dressing makes or breaks it. Top notch work, Rudyards.

The bar area is very small compared to the size of the place so service can be quite slow. That being said, the staff was all very friendly and personable. This is more of a dive bar so if youre into fancy and trendy places you will not like it here. One perk to this place is the ample parking lots.

Place is really cool, good atmosphere and friendly staff. No BS tough guy type crowd, everyone vibes really well. The art on the wall is excellent, the bathrooms are clean yet reminiscent of a pink rock bar. The music is good and the drinks are well done and priced right. Cute girls everywhere also, big plus.

This place has been around forever! The fish and chips were good and proper covid sanitation, masks and procedures were in place!

I just love the diversity of people in this place. They always have a dope underground local band playing and if they dont have music events they have open mic comedy nights where everybody can participate. The drinks are all right, the price is all right, but the vibe of this place is great. I must visit if youre from Houston.

Very tasty burgers and pizza!

Their quality of food has gone down. The vibe with new staff isnt like it was before. Not the Montrose customer service we all are used to having all these years. Ordered some burgers in which usually could eat the burger without any sides and it was it would be delicious but I received my burgers raw inside. I called manager he said he would gladly give me new burgers when I come back the next time. So I come back I talked with the bartender they order me another 2 burgers I take them home and guess what? Now they are burnt. I called and asked what did they tell the chef about my food and the manager said I told him that they were undercooked last time you ordered them. Apparently the chef or the cook took offense to it or personal and burned the meat on the burgers. Needless to say both times I took the burgers home for myself realist to say both times I took the burgers home for myself and my loved ones we had to throw them away and go to order add another restaurant for dinner each night. Major inconvenience. So thats my two cents or my to Burnt burgers experience. That wouldnt have happened with the old staff.

The bar just looks f-ing awesome. Let’s start with that. I’ve been coming in on Saturdays to hang out with friends. Sitting at the bar for once. This Bartender is so funny. She’s golden. The food always looks amazing. I can’t wait to try the fish and chips. I’d suggest this place to anyone.

Rudyard just celebrated its 41st, and is still a great venue. The staff is super friendly, and they often have great acts. They also go out of their way to book local acts. Process arent bad either, last time I went one special was Mystery Beer, where they randomly pulled from a stack. They werent all great but it was fun anyways.

Very rude, I sat at the bar just to be ignored by the bartender. I was never acknowledged by the bar tender although he saw me looking through the beer menu after 10 minutes I couldnt take it I just got up and left no need to stay in a place where the staff does not care to help you

The most delicious grilled cheese sandwich Ive ever had......with pine nuts and pesto and shaved pear....yeah, you wont ever see a picture of it because its too delicious to waste that kind of time.

I love this place. Food is consistently phenomenal. Beer choices through the roof. Lot of things to do pool darts game board night. They have a karoke night. Live local and traveling bands, I think thats great. If you want to support live local music this is the place to do it.

Very unwelcoming staff. Bartender was very unfriendly so I tried to be nice and make small talk thinking maybe she feels bad bc shes super pregnant, but still she was was very unfriendly. Im sorry. Its part of your job to be nice, but to be rude to a customer whos trying to be kind is a big service industry no no. Wont be back

I love this place. Its a great neighborhood bar. Its probably my favorite bar in Houston. They always have events going on, but its also just a nice place to have a drink with friends.

Another one of my favorite local haunts. What I like most is the staff and how friendly they are. It’s nice to sit at a bar and have the bartender actually be knowledgeable about the different beers. I also like that they have vegan options on their food menu.

A Long time favorite revisited.

I come here to attend the drink and draw upstairs. Its great how they support local artists. Drinks are reasonably priced. Youll find a good sized parking lot across the street which is a plus. If youre looking to have a drink with your friends in a relaxed atmosphere, check this place out.

A great place for burger, brews, bs’ing, and watching a football (aka soccer) game with a lively expat crowd.

Great customer service, great food, good drink prices especially during happy hour. Lock up your car. Parking may be an issue, especially if a good band is playing. Nice people hang out there too!

Great venue for live famous punk rock bands! I just cant get there. I have a 10:00 PM curfew. I no longer go to bars. I am in 2 12 step meeting fellowships. I am clean and sober. I would like to go there with someone who is sober sometime when I get my own apartment.

A Montrose institution. Coolest vibe ever. If you are trying to kick back and enjoy a nice adult beverage with some friends - or even alone - come here. Interesting mix of people. Interesting playlist. Great beer selection. Food is even better now that theyve picked up Anthony Calleo (former pi pizza chef). If you want to play darts, hang by the fire pit outside, have your fantasy football draft party, see some stand up comedy (Dave Chapelle stopped by here when he was in town a couple months ago), or do some story time for adults, its all possible here. Highly recommend this watering hole.

A place to get drinks! I dont recommend getting food. The waiter was very slow and the cooks didnt know how to read instructions. They are bad at timing food. In our group we ordered two burgers and a pizza. The pizza didnt come out until 10 min after the burgers. So, one person had to watch the rest of us eat. On my burger I asked sub onions for jalepenos. The other burger that was ordered got sub onions for jalepenos. And they cook their onions in with the cheese so it was a little difficult to pick out.The waiter brought us only 2 menus when there was three of us and only two waters. Took him a while to figure out we needed another drink. You dont get refills either.A little irritated when a small family came in and got the royal treatment from the general manager. They didnt look special to me. Here we were sitting with empty drinks and finished with our burgers waiting on a pizza... Again, this is a place to get drinks. Typical bar food.

One of my favs. The food menu here has really stepped it up recently. I used to come here for a drink. Now I come here for lunch and dinner, lol......and a drink.

Bar was out of Guinness, upstairs had a bit of a funky odor, otherwise it was wonderful.

First time visit here for a meeting. I loved the atmosphere. I had a glass of wine, which was great and some kind of brisket burrito that was very good. I plan to visit again to enjoy a live band and try more of the delicious food on the menu.

A decent bar if you are not looking for the big crowds and bright lights. People are very friendly and there is a nice assortment of beers. A couple of nice outdoor fire pits make this s cozy place for a peaceful night out. They also have some pretty good food you should try.

One of my favorite pubs in midtown Houston area. Lots of games including steel tip darts, pool, and shuffleboard. Also a great place for live music, adult storytime, game night plus more. Has an upstairs for the live music, a backroom with more dart boards and a front outdoor patio. Great pub food and a large selection of craft beer, imports both on tap and bottle. Full bar for cocktails too. Order at the bar.

Laid back atmosphere with a creative menu consisting of a mix of American and British favorites. Love shows and comedy throughout the week.

This place a cool. They have board game night on Wednesdays. Shows are chill when they have them upstairs. Darts are cool. The only thing is that the bathroom is tiny.
