Vintage! Get ready to step back into the Nixon era. Most all the exhibits are pretty old with no real current people or events (other than a wax statue of President Trump. Still with that said, lots of good history of the casinos in Hot Springs. The quality of the wax figures was good. I got a combo ticket for this and Duck Rides and some off site attractions, so Im not sure how much this cost by itself. I wouldnt pay more than $8 to do this.
It was a nice place. Interesting. Several corners that were too dark to navigate. A couple of the exhibits did not really match the likeness of the person and a couple more were just...creepy. LOVED the Casino part.
Its ok... it came with the package everyone mentions but I wouldnt out right purchase a ticket after going once. Its a decent place to cool off and burn some time if waiting on other attractions nearby. My children ages 5 and 10 call it the scary and spooky museum. It could really use some updating for sure but it also fits in with alot of the older history of Hot Springs and the area.
Had a lot of fun very calming and enjoyed every part of it will be back again .
Its only appealing to one whos never ever been to a wax museum. Im my opinion... Absolutely terrible!
Really wish they had negative stars. This place was terrible. Thank goodness they had names by was figurines as they did not look like the people. Best figures were the cartoon characters.
We had a great time, took us on a trip through time and right back to the present. It features lots of celebrities and also the historically popular events, and also Disneys princesss my personal favorite. I was a little sad I couldnt get in the pumpkin for a picture though.
It was amazing first time! However some things needed a little update and the dark stairs possibly use a light! Other than that very interesting!
VERY creepy looking figures and not worth the money. Good for a laugh. Not ADA accessable.
The wax figures look so life like that they are creepy.
Well Im sure at some point it was good, now its about 10 years off its prime. Everything just looks old and run down. Place needs a major overhaul or they need to adjust prices. Should only cost maybe 5 bucks for adults and 3 for children. It took us about 25 to 30 minutes to get through it. Save some money and hit up the Alligator farm just a couple miles down the road. Way better for the money and time.
Mr MARTIN LUTHER KING LOOKS HORRIBLE IN HIS EXHIBIT!!! YOU COULD HAVE ATLEAST TRIED. THE DWARFS LOOK GREAT...
Me and my Wife currently visited here, it was frankly beautiful and i loved it, but the problem started after we got back to our hotel, has anyone heard voices after visiting here?, i heard a voice of someone i which share a friendship with call my name as my wife was in the shower, not including the fact that he is 500+ miles away in his exact voice . haha i guess im just hearing things, TOTALLY THINK YOU SHOULD GO THERE ! wonderful 5 stars ABSOLUTELY
Photo with Eiin nstein priceless, GNW
Pretty cool. I worked there about 30 years ago and not a lot has changed.
Oh my very interesting place. You will definitely have to stop here to take a look.
It was different. The young staff kept staring at us so much we were uncomfortable there.
It has the coolest stuff in it Im gonna bring back my grandkids back something from it.....
I was very disappointed.. I don’t think anyone has taken the time to actually look at the exhibits for repairs or upkeep.. Elizabeth Taylor looked as if she was falling apart! Pinocchio’s head was held on with tape!! All I could do was shake my head. No idea what the point of the torture exhibits was. It looked as if they just needed to fill the glass and used their out dated Halloween yard decorations.. Please someone save this place.
Was ok. Out dated. You can tell how dusty the place was they havent changed in a long time.
Enjoyed every minute of it.
I love it. I seen captain jack
A little dated but still fun
Overall it was okay for $11.00 but it needs work.Like cleaning, repairs to floors and signs that are fading.
Kinda wish we had done something different with our time. Its a wax museum. Images were somewhat close to the characters. Building is creepy, smells old like all the other buildings in town. Should have spent more time hiking, or checking out the Arlington hotel. Those things are free. Museum was 10 bucks per person.
Staff was super friendly...the whole wax museum was disappointing. The wax figures seemed old and kind of falling apart. The whole place smelled old and it seems like it needs remodeling. Save your money and go elsewhere!
Way cool, yet kinda creepy!
Super fun activity to do with family
It was ok, kinda small yet enjoyable
This was a let down. The kids were disappointed in the quality of the figures. I would not recommend. Save your money and go to another attraction
As a first time visitor, I really enjoyed the museum. Figures were really done well, and staff is helpful
Fun to visit. Worth the very cheap admission and if you bundle it with the duck tour its basically free. The wax figures range from spot on to passable to awful. But what is good is that the awful ones are almost better than the good ones because theyre so bad theyre good. Make sure you get a good look at the royal family that Queen will have you chuckling for a couple days.
It was soo hokey it reminded of all the old horror movies mostly enjoyed having all my family together asking ourselves what are we doing here? The 4D ride was a real hit with a couple of the kids and for the adults that were watching their reactions. I had a good time.
Fun place to take the family
Poor at best. The figures were not life like at all besides limited features on a few. Best part was the gambling museum part. I would suggest spending your money elsewhere.
It was interesting. We visited for the creepiness factor of wax mannequins. Some of them are more realistic than others.
I always love this place. Each strand of hair in the wax figures were inserted one at a time... Not to mention its real human hair. The eyes are optical glass made from Germany if I remember right... Always adding some figures here and there. and they have a little shop inside too. Pay a little extra and theyll take you to a tunnel that shows where gangsters used to escape to when the cops came around... So adds that little mystery
We loved this museum! The exhibits were so real looking and it was so cool to see people from the real world and a fantasy world too. There were some neat items to look at and some interesting old newspaper articles. The only complaint I have: I wish the escalator when you walk in actually worked. It is not handicapped accessible and my elderly father had a very hard time with the stairs and my mom had to actually sit out because she couldnt make it up the stairs.
Tourist trap. Thats the nicest way of putting it. The costumes were very well done, but the statues themselves looked like someone going to a costume party dressed as a celebrity, not like the celebrity. Martin Luther King, Jr. had straight hair! I have yet to find one pic of MLK with straight, slicked back hair. Queen Elizabeth was wholly inaccurate even with the scene it was reenacting. The rest of the royal family was pretty unrecognizable, too. I didnt take any pics because I didnt want photographic evidence I had been sucked in to this. The kids were a bit disappointed as well. It is now a running joke with the kids and me. If anyone wants to waste money on something ridiculous, we just look at them and say wax museum. Ive been to several wax museums including the Tussauds in Hollywood and this one just doesnt measure up.
So very disappointed ! This place needs some serious work . The exhibits look horrible and very unkept. Clean this place up ! Update the figures and their clothing . With anything you must maintain to keep it nice . This place just really broke my heart ! Seriously hope the city will take it over and bring it back to its original luster !
Awesome! but kinda creepy. They wax figures look too real. Had lots of fun.
I visit Hot Springs often. This is a must see for me each time. Yes, it isnt very up-to-date, but it is a fun experience. The ambiance fits perfectly with the city. They get a few new figures sometimes. However, i do wish some of the exhibits would recieve a little more tender love and care. Going for probably the 20th time again this weekend!
This place terrified me when I was four. I went back when I was fourty and I was pleased to say it was as great as I remembered and still gives me nightmares. Thank you for still being there and not changing. This is one of the greatest wax museums anywhere.
Very good likenesses of everyone from Al Capone to Snow White. A treat for the kids.
Ok, seems to be like any other Wax museum.
Great place for kids. Its a short 35-45 minute experience...longer if you have older kids and theyll let you read everything. Its also a museum for the Southern Club Casino.
Lots of fun stuff to look at. Great history here too!
This needs a little work. The exhibits were crooked and off balance. Needs updates. The best part of this museum was advice I got from the captain of the duck tours. He said ask the museum to let u see the hidden bathroom underground passage. If u look on the wall down there u can see where some of the bookies were keeping up with who owed what. If we hadnt asked we would have never seen it and it was the best thing about the museum.
It was an ok wax museum. The characters were close to realistic. Took us about 15 minutes to walk through.
Somehow we ended up missing part of the museum. Fun to go through.
Weeellllll.! So, if your on vacation with nothing to do, this might be a good time killer. The place is dated and the figures kind-of looks like the real people. Not really worth what you pay. The VR ride did not work and the only have one VR thing to choose from. Again, if you REALLLY are looking to waste couple of bucks.
Really neat place to visit. The added gangster history was a plus.
Good museum. Learn some neat local history and see the casino escape tunnel. There are some very good figures and some that areclearly made by the new guy. Overall really enjoyable.
They have a lot of neat things some of their wax figures are awesome and others not so much. It was expensive for it being a small fast tour of the place
It is a old place but still worthwhile
Not a great experience. It was creepy and it smelled like pot. Would not recommend for children under the age of 9. They had a whole section on torture. My coworker and I went to check it out to see if we could take some kids there and we said absolutely not. It was neat but I would not ever go back.
This place is huge! Lots of interesting things to see!
It was neat to walk through, but I dont think its worth $10. It should be cheaper since it only takes 20mins to walk through.
Such a cool little place, you gotta be sure and ask them to see Al Capones secret tunnel, very COOL!
This place is really old and not really relevant to 2019. The figures dont look very realistic. You can smell the dust. Its bad. There are much better wax museums but the lady that works there was really nice.
Read the reviews and believe them. The worst one Ive ever been to. Super dated. Many are just awful!! Super small. Not worth the $. It took us 15 minutes and we were disappointed the entire time.
Has really gone down hill over the years but is still an iconic attraction in Hot Springs. A good dusting and some maintenance would do wonders for the place.
Really cool museum. Take your time throughout
I like the museum and the history behind it, but I think they could freshen up the building a little more.
You can bring your kids or family to enjoy this place
It was ok, pretty much what to expect out of a wax museum. In my opinion the gangster museum is much more worth the money. This didnt appeal to me but it may to others.
This is a wax museum you will see pamala Anderson kim and Kanye scary people its fun to go here I took pics of me with wax figures and no one could tell any difference go here its like 12.50 a person but fun as can be . Kids older ones get a kick outta this place!!! Go check it out️certain age groups get in FREE located on main central ave been here for years Go enjoy the fun you can take pics too!!
It was okay. Ive been to other wax museums that looked more realistic and took longer than 10 minutes to go through.
Really neat. Good time waster.
Getting dusty. Not a good museum. Local history was interesting
DO NOT waste your money here!! The museum was dusty and the floor looked like they had not been vacuumed or swept in quite sometime paint was peeling off the roof. Most of the figures did not seem like the person they claimed to be. The sole reason I gave two stars is because the young lady at the counter was very nice.
Its nice but it was better the first time I went.
Let down. I have to admit that wax museums are not my thing normally. I was really there to see the Capone tunel. The figures were interesting but the whole place was very dusty and unkempt. The gambling exibit was interesting but not well displayed. This place could use a remodel. The access to the tunnel was also a disapointment. Had I known I would have skipped this.
Had a great time here, was definitely different and full of history!
Pretty cool place to go see
I was disappointed,my 82 yr.old mother paid a lot of money to come to Hot springs and the main thing she wanted to see was the wax museum and its not handicapped equipped. Although not being the young ladies fault, she let us come in and see up the stairs as good as we could.
Not worth the $15 per adult admission for the guided tour which they expect you to wait around for as they are scheduled. No self-guided tours allowed. No senior or other discounts available. Sad.
So fun
My daughter wanted to do this because we didnt go to the famous one in NYC. It was easily my least favorite thing on our 1400 mile road trip. I think we were in there for no more than 8 and a half minutes. I dont know how anyone could spend 45 minutes in there unless they read all of the gambling memorabilia. We didnt do the house of horrors portion as we had children in our group, but the rest was creepy enough. Its much darker than necessary. I think the intention is to highlight the wax figures, but it means blind corners and black curtains in total darkness at times. The only reason I gave two stars was because the fairy tale section at the end slightly redeemed the rest. But yes, very old, very dusty, very dark. As someone else said.... save your money for the 4D movie next door. It was far more entertaining even for the 5 minutes it lasted.
Nothing to this! The place is old and outdated. If youve been to the wax museum in Gatlinburg, TN, this one will be a HUGE let down!!
Was fun! Yes its old and such but thats part of the charm! We took our 12 y/o and he was entertained. I went as a small girl and loved it.
It was fun. Price is much higher than what I believe it is worth however. If you go make sure you ask to see the secret escape
Had alot of fun here, and the staff was very friendly.
Nice place
About 10-15 minutes of looking at wax figures that arent up to the quality of madame Tussauds. JFK looks pretty off and Alice from Alice in wonderland looks like your grandmothers doll left in the closet for 20 years. All the wax figures look slightly off or in the uncanny valley, unlike the hyper-realism of madame Tussauds. The museum ends with am exhibit about the mob/gambling criminals(?) And its just a bunch of newspaper clippings all over the wall, in shadow boxes, and some dice and a wax figure of Al Capones torso. Super disappointing, makes me feel like I was tricked. Wouldnt recommend. If youre drunk and walking through downtown hot springs, keep walking
It was good but not branson
Not flashy or polished, and definitely past its prime. Its just got a neat dingy feel to the exhibits. Some of the figures are eerily realistic and others are laughable. I thought this place was a dump 15 years ago and really not much has changed except my perspective. Its not a Madame Tussauds but its an interesting mom and pop style attraction that is disappearing from most tourist areas. It is shifting focus to the illegal gambling and casino history of the building which is probably more interesting than the figures are. The escape tunnel under the lobby is neat and the fact that so many gangsters visited the area creates a vibrant past. Some of the wax figures were cracking and dirty, I hope they can fix it up a little and keep this time capsule alive.
Great place great time everyone should try it..
Top notch wax museum.
Beautiful experience in this Place, very nice to visit .
We done their virtual reality ride because the place next door was closed it wasnt near as good as the 4d next door but I have to admit it was way better than the one at T-Rex
Its not that its particularly bad, but its obvious the wax figures are seriously neglected and in decay. I went here as a child and brought my own children more than 20 years later and nothing had changed.
Enjoyed the walk through. Great for adults. Not that much there for kids though.
It was okay but not really worth the cost
Well worth the money and you must do the 4D
