This was such a great little museum!! I liked the guided tour part of it because it kept my attention and he basically summed up all the things I could have read about in the pictures and news clippings and things on the wall. Each video was informative and to the point which I also liked and our tour guide was AMAZING! I liked his voice and he was very informative and knew his stuff! I was with a small group of less than 10 people, everybody wore their mask (correctly!), even the tour guide, and we were able to space out nicely in each room. I thoroughly enjoyed the history given and to me it was cool to see how/why some places had gotten and still have their name in the town!! Y’all gotta make it a part of your stay!!

If you love the history of old school gangster/mafia. This is a great place to see. $15 per person, guided tours through the museum that take a little over an hour, to about an hour and 15 minutes. They discuss well known mob members that frequently came to the area and there are short videos in every room. At the end there are 2 Tommy guns that you can hold that are blocked and without a firing pin.

It is a nice museum. It is not big or has as much to see as the Mob Museum in Las Vegas, NV. However, it is worth the visit for a couple of hours. I recommend that you go see the place with a tour guide that there. Your guide is very informative and has a great sense of humor.

Guided tour, dont pay for parking till you know your time slot on a busy Saturday!More about Hot Springs history than only gangsters, but good lots of fun facts were shared by the guide.Plenty of seating for all the videos shown, each gallery you walk thru had things to see and videos to watch, about an hour.Colorful host and museum curator.

The gangster museum was fun and very informative. The hat shop has a huge variety as well. Our tour guide was funny and very knowledgeable. It was interesting to see the artifacts and learn the history of the gangsters, politicians, outlaws, etc that had lived and passed through hot springs. We would recommend taking the tour if you like History. You will watch a short video in each room explaining the theme/person the room is attributed to.

Interesting tour and information, but its primarily watching videos in several different rooms with minimal time to look at items on walls. It would be nice to give guests a few minutes to look around before starting the videos. It would also be appreciated if guides kept masks on properly and encouraged distancing by spacing chairs apart.

The exhibits inside were pretty cool, but I really felt as if we weren’t given enough time to browse at our own pace. The tour is okay, but it’s going from room to room and watching a video in each room, quickly being rushed to the next room without much time to look around. It’s worth a look, but I really wish we’d had more time to browse at our own leisure

Our guide was very good and they have a good selection of information. Theres also a gift shop where you can pick up a souvenir. There is some seating throughout. There is a movie at the end and a baseball room. It really is an educational experience. I took a ton of pictures but they are spoilers so dont look if you dont want to ruin the tour.

It was cool to see some of the history but the majority of the museum is just watching a couple videos you can likely find on YouTube. Recommend either letting patrons walk through and learn at their pace or actually lead a guided tour.

Had a lot of history the staff was very knowledgeable. The issue I had was that there was so much history to look at and read, but every room you were moved to a video was played that told about the history of the theme that was being show cased in that room. Once the video was over you were moved to another room. You didnt have any time to look at all the history in the room. Also the groups were fairly big so if you are trying to social distance, it is really hard to do there.

I enjoyed the history down the memory lane of Gangsters Paradise. A group tour of 45mjn to 1 hour with lots of small videos and halls decorated with historical pictures and articles. Kids might be bored and make sure you do have an interest in mafia before you go. Very sweet elderly couple running the business

Videos were slow, though informative. Displays were great, well done. Learned a lot about the area. My biggest issue was the lack of limitation on the group size. A couple of rooms were small and people were forced to stand close together. While the guide did a great job and kept his mask on the entire time, masking was not enforced once in the museum and on the tour. One person removed his mask and was sneezing and coughing during the tour. We actually thought about leaving and asking for a refund.

It was a good $15 spent (per person). We were able to walk in and pick a tour time and pay. We had time to grab a bite to eat next door, but when it cutting close to our tour time with food not being out yet, we were able to easily call and change our tour time. No rush, no fuss!I had no idea of the history of Hot Springs. Well used space with a litany of information!

Such a cool experience! We learned so much about the history of how Hot Springs came about, and what caused the ending of the gambling and gangster era. The tour guide, Josh, was what absolutely MADE the experience authentic, interesting and fun!He had such a wonderful personality. The tour was about an hour long, and he had everything memorized perfectly. He never slipped up and tripped on his words, which means he did alot of practicing and takes great pride in his work! He had the coolest purple gangster getup on, with a matching purple mask! He made funny jokes, and got the crowd into it. This crowd we toured with was kind of quiet, but i laughed at every joke he madeWe loved it, and would recommend asking for Josh if you go! He would be the reason we went back! Thanks for a great time!-Ben and Katie from Lafayette, LA

This was actually a planned destination during our stay. I was a little disappointed. Its a timed, guided tour. We didnt have time to really stop and check out the exhibits. Wasnt impressed with the tour guide. Im handicapped, so it took me a little longer to move on to the next room. He usually started his spiel before I caught up with the group.

What a Gem of a Museum!I go to Hot Springs, AR often but I could never find the time to visit this museum. Well, with the Covid-19 virus, there arent as many options to choose from. But dont make the mistake I did. Dont see this as an if I have time place to visit. If you go to Hot Springs, AR it should be on the top of your list.I was truly shocked and amazed at the degree of history and research found in this museum. Dont let the small storefront fool you. There are rooms and galleries inside to rival any major history museum. Theres even a secret wall and a movie theater inside.I knew some of the Gangster and Gambling history of Hot Springs but none of the details of how it existed so long in Arkansas. The Mob Museum in Las Vegas has a gallery dedicated to Hot Springs Gangster and Gambling history but it pales in comparison to what is located inside this museum.Did you know that Hot Springs has a Major League Baseball history that aligns with its Gangster and Gambling history? Neither did I. Visit the Gangster Museum of American in Hot Springs, AR and learn all about it!

Almost everyone in our tour would have preferred it to be unguided, although the gentleman leading the tour was very nice and knowledgeable. The videos are a little old, and not edited very well (it’s US Marshal, not Marshall). We were pushed to keep moving past some of the more interesting exhibits, and overall the museum would be cooler if the videos played on a loop, and the guides were stationed about to answer questions and call attention towards artifacts, with the museum patrons being able to move about the building freely.

This was a fun and interesting tour. If you go to Hot Springs, dont pass it up. My husband and I were visiting relatives in Arkansas, and they suggested we drive to Hot Springs. The decision to visit the Gangster Museum was made spontaneously when we happened to walk by. Even my relatives had not been there before. It was very interesting and entertaining. A young actor gave an oral presentation of Hot Springs history as a welcoming haven for some of the most notorious gangsters of the 1930s. Rival gangs could peacefully engage in gambling and enjoying the healing springs and services. Our docent then stepped aside to give us an opportunity to view the displays for several minutes before continuing the tour.I had my small dog with me and was welcome to carry her throughout the tour.

Its a guided tour located in a Historic Hot Springs building. For the most part the information is available online and through older newspaper articles. They tell you that you can look around while they talk. However, it leaves you feeling either rushed to look around or rude if you do look while they talk. You cannot look at your own pace unguided.
