The location and view were amazing. The luau was expensive and poorly scripted. Me wife had communicated with them for months about us renewing our vows for our 25th anniversary. She wore a beautiful white beach wedding dress. The MC was so intent on doing his tired monolog he didnt give us a second thought when we said we were the ones celebrating our 25 anniversary. We ended up having our own private moment under the lighted tree, but it would have been nice to recite our vows in front of our friends like we intended.
Always beautiful view, very little parking
Spectacular view and good parking
The best luau really felt like a family party.
Highly walkable network of trails. You can spend an hour to several days exploring elevations, enjoying the views and listening to the birds.Cannot imagine the place being crowded, but you will meet some hikers on the trails.
My Uncle Scott has been missing since Spring 2016. A friend went searching for him and one person said they recognized his picture and that they saw him near this park. Please help us find him!
Great place
Really enjoyed the views here on top of Tantalus. It wasnt too hard to find but at first it can be pretty easy to miss. The drive to this view point was a little curvy but it wasnt too bad. It was pretty cool cause you get a really good view of diamond head, pearl harbor and a few other famous points in Honolulu. I am sure watching the sunset here would be a prime place to be.
Pu’u U’alaka’a State Park is amazing! I love the view and nature. A perfect quick hiking trail and also they have a camping site. I highly recommend if you want to have a quick getaway.
Very special and beautiful place! Relaxing, breezy, great views, picnic tables and restrooms. Very underutilized.
One of the best places to go if you want to witness an amazing, picturesque view but dont want to make the hard hike up a mountain. The road up is a single lane road with a few twists and turns so be careful driving on this road, but at around 10 minutes, its a relatively short drive up. Once youre there you get a stunning panoramic view of Honolulu, Diamond head, and all the cities around it. Absolutely beautiful.
A scenic lookout is available at this photo op venue that allows an unobstucted view from the airport (West), over Honolulu, and Westward toward Diamondhead.
The Nutridge Luao was top of the line entertainment, very personalized & they treated us like family learned a lot from the tour highly recommend it to all
I parked there 5 min.Took some pictures and came back to my car.My car window was broken and stolen my bagI lost everything.Credit card cash two cameras and otherVery dangerous place.
Alot of trails to go to, pretty easy, quit, still be careful where to step but beautiful
Amazing views of Honolulu, when the weather is good. Can be crowded at times though as this is a fairly well known lookout.
Its a pleasant bike ride up from Waikiki. Its a beautiful vista rain or shine!
One of the best view on the island that does not require a hike!
It wont feel like a state park in the sense of grandeur. Its very pretty. Has a great lookout. Connects to other trailheads like Makiki loop. A public bathroom. No water fountains so bring your own water.
Great drive up to this place, amazing views and sunsets. Nice escape from the city and one of the best views you can get without hiking!
Great view, not enough parking
We went at night. Beautiful views, however once the sun goes down the drive up the mountain is harrowing. Several miles from the top street lights cease and youre making hairpin turns without being able to see the sides of the road.
My absolute favorite place on the island, great views. Also fun to get up there, whether hiking or driving.
This place provides a great view of the city and Diamond Head! The drive up the mountain is very twisty and a bit dangerous (since often you can’t see if another car is coming down, and they usually are coming down pretty fast!) so I am glad we went in the afternoon. I cannot imagine going up this road at night or in the rain. How do the people who live here deal with this road?!Once you make it up the mountain and turn into the park, stay to the left and follow the signs for the lookout. Then you will get to a small parking lot where you can see everyyyyything. There weren’t very many people when I went so I was able to take a lot of pictures :DThe drive up there is pretty short, maybe 10 minutes, so I would recommend making the trip :)
Very nice view! Avocado trees right next to the view point. Very nice views!
Best lookout to see all of Honolulu all the way to Diamondhead. Great at night.
Wow, 360 degree view of honolulu from 1000 ft easy to get to, sunset would be even better, open until 6:45
Most beautiful view of Honolulu and Waikiki.
Great place to see the city . Nice view but limited parking .
Located above the University of Hawaii at Manoa campus. For the most spectacular view of the Oahu south shore go here. The lookout platform gives you a panorama view from Koko Head to Makakilo and everything in between plus beautiful lush green Manoa Valley. There are a couple of covered picnic tables and a restroom.
Views of downtown are priceless
A best place to overlook diamond head and Honolulu. Amazing views!!!!!
