This is a very under rated park. Bring a camp chair and sit under the shady trees by the river.
If you were to stop in Hilo for just one day, make a trip to the KING KAMEHAMEHA STATUE.Pull out a blanket, have a picnic, bring your lunch and afterward take a walk over the bridges and around the park. Lovely time for the whole ohana/family.If your lucky, you just might see new leis being put up throughout the week, the smell is amazing
Very pretty well maintained park. Amazing statue. The ponds and the birds and the grass and the walls... very nice pretty place.
Closest thing to looking into the eyes of the powerful and great King
Its a statue, but full of history. Beautiful and well made.
Picturesque iconic park
I enjoy history and this is an important part for Hawaii.
The 1st statue is in Kapaau, .. as the one in Honolulu is the replica replacement and the one in Hilo is the third such statue, a forth resides in Statutory Hall in DC.. more soon!
Interesting to see this icon of Hawaiian history depicted
Grounds arent mowed enough, no bathrooms, statue and plaques are pretty awesome
Nice, well maintained statue with some informational signs.
Our culture...
Historical landmark, read all the signs
