We just attended Boo at the Zoo for 2020. It felt pricey when we reserved the tickets,. But it was worth it in the end. The staff dressed up great, they had the place very clean, and well decorated. It was nice and dark to keep the atmosphere spooky and we got to see all the animals up close without getting crowded by too many other people. The kids loved petting the creatures and hearing ghost stories, and of course getting a generous amount of candy. Well done. I love supporting local animal rescues and zoos.
We attended the Boo at the Zoo event on Halloween night. The staff did an outstanding job making the tour mysterious but not scary. It was exciting and educational. With all the things that have gone wrong this year, Hesperia Zoo got this right!!
It is well kept up and the staff is friendly. Its a nice place to have an outing with the kids. My daughter went to the zoo camp and she loved it.
Amazing Halloween experience, They do an awesome job..... Everyone should experience it this year
We did the Boo at the zoo and it was really cool seeing the zoo at night. Now we didnt get to see all the animals but we did have a great time
My family really enjoyed this zoo. The zoo keeper was very informative and made us have a great time.
They seem to truly care for the creatures.. very nice
As a volunteer, this zoo a gooooood place to see the adorable animals here:). Good staff / workers here:)
This is an awesome little gem and our tour guide d was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive!
Liam loved it!! So did I!!! The Boo Zoo was awesome
I love that this gem is local. So close to home. I took a 5 yr old and 7 yr old. They really enjoyed seeing the animals. I did too. D. the tour guide was great! Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She handled the animals with care. We did not purchase the Feeding Frenzy, however, that gives us a reason to return
Nice atmosphere. Animals look chill.
Better more intimate experience than LA zoo
We had an awesome feeding experience, will definitely go again!!!
We did the feeding tour... Had a good time. Kids loved it!
Went for a tour it was about an hour. There are actually quite a bit of animals! More than just the ones I took the picture of. The tour guide told alot of really interesting facts about the animals. Fun for adults and children! 7$ for adults and 5$ for children and seniors, free for children under 2. Addicitonal charge for the feeding frenzy which looked really fun! They fed the camel, tiger, leopard, and ring tail lemur. It was so fun! Id definently reccomend going!
Great for the little kids. And a very inexpensive trip to enjoy watching your children learn about the animal kingdom.
Wonderful zoo! Nice staff, clean facility, animals are all healthy, happy, and love to interact with the touring groups. My husband and I did the feeding frenzy tour and we loved it! Will definitely recommend and plan to go again!
My family and I had a good time. They have very few animals but they were entertaining with the tour and made the price worth it. My child and I got to fees some animals. We paid extra for that. Even though it was only an hour long, it was fun.
This is my 2nd time checking out this zoo and it was great. The 1st time was a couple years ago with the family. Yesterday was my 2nd time going, but this time it was just my boyfriend and I. We decided to check out the Love Gone Wild Tour. It included hors doeuvres & drinks, which were delicious & the drinks were ice cold. It was just as awesome. The guides were very informative, knowledgeable, down to earth, and exciting. I loved the different facts we learned than in the normal tour since this was the Love Gone Wild Tour.
Dirty disgusting always close I wonder whos feeding the little animals there they all look like they havent eaten in days
Great place to take the family to see some amazing animals
Lions, tigers and bears. This little know gem has a surprisingly diverse group of animals. It is a weekend only one hour tour that is low priced. Kids can feed some of the animals too
GRoUPON BEWARE ......... you still need a appt to take the tour you cannot just buy the tickets and show up we drove one and a half hours just to be told we need to call for an appt. No one on groupon did it say this see we lost the money the time the gas all bs do not bother buying tickets to this place as they have a deal going with groupon ripping people off.
Well taken care of animals, friendly staff
The tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. Very good experience.
The animals are very well taken care of, plus the workers are very knowledgeable about them aswell
An amazing experience. I recommend it for everyone. Its like a one and one experience and you are able to feed many animals. Will come again
Animals + High Desert + Twilight Zone = Hesperia Zoo. This place is super fun, but its not the kind of place youd go on a regular basis because of the guided tour. I will say, the tour guides mix it up and always have different things to share and tell the guests. I have always wanted them to sell some sort of annual pass that would allow us to roam as desired, and see the animals more regularly. But the fairly rehearsed tour, makes it somewhat repetitive, so we usually only go about once a year. Fun nonetheless, and Ill always enjoy ignoring and then giving that darn baboon one last look that will keep him from flipping out. I will say, this is not the kind of place youd let your little ones run loose in. The fences and enclosures dont look quite zoo worthy, but are effective. I usually hold the kids hands and keep them close. This is a neat location, with a fun story, and every animal has serious character. Im sure the behind the scenes tour is gritty and exciting. Always a treat. If you live in the desert, you must go! Might not be worth anything longer than a 30 minute drive though.
Nice small zoo. Loved all the information we recieved about each animal. Tourist guide was very knowledgeable of the animals.
Been living here for a year and just found this gem! Not very large nor fancy, but a great experience! They claim to have animals from 6 continents and I believe it. Most are rescue animals and some are famous (been in movies...etc). The staff is wonderful and friendly and warn you about the lama that just may spit. You can get tickets from Groupon even though their prices are not bad to begin with. This place is great for kids of all ages and takes about an hour (guided tours only). Not very handicap friendly but doable, my dads scooter got stuck twice in deep sand. Worth the time to stop by - well be back!
Cute Halloween tour with really fun stories and facts about each animal. We loved it and will go next year. :)
Over all a great place to take the family close to home!
Breaks my heart seeing these animals caged up.
Surprising range of animals. Tigers, monkeys, camels, wolf. One hour guided tour. Inexpensive and kids will love it.
Small local zoo with so much to see for a great price. Please come early and on time for the tour people !
Nice little tour. Knowledgeable and very friendly staff
Nice little zoo, its really great because the tour is guided and she did an amazing job!
Great place. Worth the extra money to do feeding frenzy. Staff so sweet. I always use a Groupon when I go.
Not a fancy zoo, only 10 acres with a small selection of animals in Hesperia. BUT...…. the information from guide, Tiffany and the ability to get up close and safely to animals made it more than worth the drive. With a lifetime of zoo visits and many Animal Planet shows, thought we knew it all, but we learned so many facts we were unaware of previously from Tiffany - great tour guide!!!! At the end, she told us that was only her 2nd tour, we would have thought her 100th!! This is one very knowledgeable and personable young lady!! You may read that you cannot wander around by yourself and that is good. The information and anecdotes on the tour make the visit more than worthwhile!! Thank You Hesperia Zoo!
Great place to take the kids
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Extremely well maintained, with healthy and beautiful animals. Not expensive either. My family and I had a wonderful experience, they will see us again for sure.
Got a great deal through Groupon. They ask you to arrive 15 minutes early and wait outside a fence. Its right in the middle of a Hesperia neighborhood, so random but convenient. The tour girl was great! Definitely a fun place to visit if youre in the area. The only reason I couldnt give it 5 stars is because we didnt get to see all the animals, not sure why. But, theres a bear, wolves and some other monkeys in the back we didnt visit. That was disappointing. Overall a neat place to visit and bring the kids.
Love that it is local but I would NOT return. They did not show us all the animals. They cut the tour short like by 15 minutes. The $20 charge for feeding the animals is not worth it at all!
Good time and the feeding the animals was fun
Our first and only trip to the zoo was on Halloween 2017. Its small, not what you think of when you hear zoo, but there are quite a few animals on the grounds. I was a bit disappointed we didnt get to see more of the animals. We paid quite a lot for what turned out to be a short guided tour of a few animals and some stories directed at teaching the kids. Not the experience I was expecting, but the kids liked it and thats the important thing.
It was alright. The lady zoo was kind and nice
Wonderful zoo!
We enjoyed the guided tour. Nice breezy day. Best time to go is either 10am or the 4pm feeding frenzy tour. Good family fun.
I wanted to volunteer because thats something I love to do. Its not about the applauses, its about the cause. The only thing I thing its dumb, is that we have to pay 25 dollars to volunteer. I mean were working out of the kindness of our hearts and for free. Now were paying them to work for them. No fair. That place is great. The tour guide let go of the deer for us and that was fun. We got up close and person to them.
Great
Small zoo and offer a guided tour only, but well worth it. Cheap, especially with groupon. Its not a huge zoo like LA, but the bwst thing is you get to see the animals up close. The staff care very much for the animals there and you can tell in their interactions.
To look at rarer animals locally it is cool. But is on the more expensive side.
Great place, awesome animals and very well treated, staff friendly and great with the animals . Must see.
I went to home depot to buy gutters rain season are the most impotant thing that happen to hesperia im so exited
Fun place to visit. I just wish we got to see all of the animals. Its a hour tour
They could advertise the business a bit better cause u honestly cant even tell its s zoo
This place is really awesome
Just the photos alone make me feel sick and angry. How anyone could visit this animal lock up is beyond me!
Great for kids
Great for the kids.
Did a guided tour today around 3pm all animals were active..freaking awesome ...
Great people, interesting and fun thing to do to break up a long drive. Kids loved it.
Great experience with the family
Great place to take your kids...
For a small zoo it was a great experience, my kid love how close we could see the animals, the tour was very personal and with learning facts for kids.
Great would go again
Kids loved it and I learned interesting information
Love hearing the Tigers at night and donkeys in the morning
Ok, no big deal.
Its a bit smelly but I love the animals
The should have something more up front advertising that its a zoo
The tour guide wasnt friendly or knowledgeable about the animals. I looked forward to seeing the white Bengal tiger & when we got there she told us he was out on an assignment, also the entire back where the mountain lion and wolves were she said were closed & she avoided the ostrich all together so i felt the tour was a disappointment.
Nice for a nice after noon
Hidden gem of the high desert. Very nice staff and beautiful animals.
This was a fun little zoo.
We absolutely loved the guides
More like a petting zoo tbh
Not that good, and pricey
Cool
Awesome
It was ok we did not get to see all the animals
Small place though
Very boring, just a few animals that they show you.
It was a good day
Cool
Meh
Love it!
